Stephen King is one of the best writers... EVER!

He can make characters come alive. You actually feel like you know them.
...and then he kills them off.

One time I threw the book across the room, I was so upset.

I HATE ALBUS SEVERUS!

And I loved them individually! They were both great characters! Until the last book destroyed everything I knew and loved about Snape by turning him into a crying pansy emo wimping in a corner while cutting himself GOSH!

If you read Stephanie Meyer's personal view of Bella and look at a picture of Meyer, you'll notice that she wrote herself as Bella...

I'm a Gaian, been one since 2003, and the only reason I haven't quit is because I have a lot of friends on there and I respect a handful of the workers there. So far 2010 hasn't disappointed me yet when it comes to their decisions, although the Valentine's event is lamesauce (i'm hoping they're going to make up for it with the Olympic event though).

Jean: I did that with a book by Tamara... crap, what is her last name >< TO GOOGLE!

Anyway, I was all like- PIERCE TAMARA PIERCE I THINK- DAMMIT ALANNA DON'T SLEEP WITH HIM IHU ;_;

Meeooww!

While Stephen may not be a fan of Stephenie’s writing, he understands the appeal of the series.

“People are attracted by the stories, by the pace, and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it’s very clear that she’s writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because it’s not overtly sexual.”

He further explains, “A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like, the vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all hot and cold. And for girls, that’s a shorthand for all the feelings that they’re not ready to deal with yet.”

Casi - Same here. I don't really like the mad lib thing . . some were funny, yeah, but there wasn't even much of a variety. .

I love Stephen King, he does have a way with words, now if only the movies weren't so cheesy.
I like Dean Koontz too

You know, I NEVER even finished the last book. I was so disappointed on how everything was I stopped reading. JK really screwed it up, especially the last two books.

I don't think she screwed up on purpose, I think she was just trying to please all the readers.

There were very few good movie adaptations of King's books.

Carrie was pretty good.

I also liked the miniseries of The Stand (one of his best books).

Lelie: Assateague? The one with the ponies? that's really neat. Philadelphia is such a cool city. Did you grow up around there?
