I can't part with gaia it's one of those sites that hooks me in. I just joined today and I like it.

Gaia is overpopulated!
there are so many people.. here you can actually

I've never been on Gaia before but mene is probably better.

I went on Gaia for a while quite a long time ago. I never found anyone that I could talk to and they all seemed very ignorant. Saying that, I didn't explore the forums, just the 'world' and the games and such. But I doubt I would have felt welcomed. The avatars don't really appeal to me either.

On the other hand, I like that there is much more to do on gaia. Though I wouldn't want Menewsha to follow the same path and copy everything about Gaia. I think that the staff of Menewsha may let this site progress into something more unique than gaia.

In my opinion, I don't feel comfortable jumping into something which is highly developed, busy and needs lots of experience on the site to get used to. This is why I prefer Menewsha~ it's not that old and I don't feel like I have 'missed everything'. I can watch the website progress slowly and enjoy things as they come rather than being overwhelmed by everything.

I like the avatars better on gaia but I have been hacked so many times its annoying.
I like menewsha cuz the avatars and the outfits people wear are so nice.But its really hard to make gold on this site.

I don't like Gaia for talking to people because there aren't many people who are interested in actually holding a conversation. There's way too much spam and people there tend to be too immature. I do like the Towns idea but not so much the people there. I think Gaia is too commercial. I personally like how Mene has the small community feeling to it.

Gaia is sooo losing. I've been on gaia once or twice and just gave up. Definitely boring and I just don't care about those evolving item reports!!!

I've been on Gaia for about 3 years and I made a character about 4 years ago. I abandoned it because I didn't understand it. (I was like 9/10. It just didn't make sense even though I played MMO games at that age since my mom designed clothes for one.)
Even in that 3 years, it has really declined. It's more money based. Also,I feel like most people I meet on there act rather immaturely. Not to say that you can't meet good people on there because i've met a lot of good friends on there but like 40-50% of the player base is. I like Menewsha where I can generally expect that the person i'm talking to is capable of holding a conversation for more than one or two minutes.
Getting off the community, I like Gaia better as far as avatars go. There's so many options and things to do, but at the same time I know it's got a much,much larger company and has been around longer than Menewsha.
As for the website and interactions, I think Gaia has Menewsha by the neck on all the games and interactions but Menewsha is so tightly knit and community-based that it makes me love it all the more. (:
Overall, I play both. I definitely wouldn't say Menewsha is better than Gaia, but I wouldn't say it's the other way around either. They both have their perks and downs.

For me, I've been on gaia since it started, though I change my account around alot ;p But it was fun and making gold is quite easier too. My account on there is decent and worth alot but not too crazy. I find that I've lost interest in gaia also lol. It got boring for me :[ Here is fun and new, so I get to explore more. Though at gaia the threads and fourms are much faster and here it is abit slow, I dont mind. But making gold is hard but worth it when I reach my goal loll. Um so I guess im for both

I love Menewsha for how social and nice the community is. On Gaia I can't seem to get anyone to talk to me, save for people I actually know. The site moves too fast and there are too many trolls.

Item-wise, though, Gaia is much better in my opinion. But they've also been around a lot longer.

I go on Menewsha more than Gaia. I prefer conversation.

Hm, well I don't know if I can say too much - I'm just now getting active here! I've been on Gaia since late 2003. I wish I could change my username here - I wish I would have made it with uppercase letters!

Anyway, I really like Gaia, but this place seems cozy! I also like Roliana, if anyone has seen that one! I try not to stretch myself too thin among too many sites like these, but I just had to come here!

I'm not really sure with ones better but I'm guessing Gaia? I played it for about 1 year just because of the RPs and friends but then I suddenly lost interest ever since I made a facebook. DX So now i just go on like a few days a month. But this site I could easily lose interest. It's harder to get gold and when your new, YOU GET NO CLOTHING(S)! I found this site by typing in something on the web bar thing and then it just sent me to this site. I was a little confuse because I meant to go to Gaia. XD But then it looked interesting so I signed up but now it's kinda boring. :/ I would like Menewsha to have guilds! D:<

its so easy to get banned
its nearly impossible to get gold w/o buying a cash card, etc

its fairly easy to earn gold
the mods seem fair
and i like the structure of the avaters better

I'm pretty loyal to Gaia, and that place can keep you amused all day without even posting around on the forums. Then again, a lot of people prefer to join a forum community that's.. well, actually a forum. For those people, I can see why they'd prefer smaller avatar communities to Gaia. It's hectic over there.

Gaia is impersonal because you can earn a bundle without having to interact with anyone else, so there can be no sense of commmunity, just a whole bunch of people out to have MOAR than everyone else.

I've been a member of Gaia since 2004 before I found mene I was active on gaia only as a means to play with items and dressing up an avatar, that and I remember gaia in it's days of glory. From about 2004 until 2006 or maybe even mid 2007 gaia was an excellent website. It was friendly fun and the events were AMAZING! and the storyline for the NPCs was just excellent and way entertaining. But somewhere a switch was flicked and gaia went down hill quickly. It became rude, good items were forever out of reach, and the events became trite and just plain stupid and annoying. So it became pretty fail, pretty quickly. Mene however has been excellent and I love it!

This site is sooo much better than Gaia, I never really got into Gaia. I never really liked the avatars, the fact that it was crawling with spam and a bunch of thirteen year olds who seem incapable of using proper english and the rate of inflation was so high I would never be able to get a decent looking avatar.

Though the worst as the chatspeak. Do you have any idea how infuriating it is trying to have a concersation with someone who: spks lyk dis???

I prefer Menewsha over gaia, back in 05 I joined gaia then in 07 I found out about Mene and joined mene and pretty much switched over. Mene has been much better then gaia

I've had a Gaia since 06' and I really like it but it's getting old. The addition of the cash shop has made Gaia less about posting and playing games to get gold, and more about spending money. I'm kind of new to here but so far I'm definitely a fan of Menewsha. There seems like even thought there's less people in the forums here, there's much less spaming and trolls. :]

I prefer Crysandrea, to be completely blunt and honest.

I just don't like Gaia's reputation on the internet. it's sort of the but of internet jokes, and prone to raids from 'nefarious websites' (not to break rules 1&2 of the internet).
This is far less immature and far less forced, and actually doesn't have a bad rep on the internet.

I rarely ever see spammers and when I do they're reported and dealt with swiftly. Plus unlike Gaia, =) I'm not flamed for reporting p___ trolls :lol:

I actually got a guy banned once on Gaia for trolling... and as proof of Gaia's immature users, he trolled my profile and was reported and banned within minutes. THAT is why I love menewsha =) they actually enforce their rules swiftly and accurately.

So I'm told half of Gaia is spammers and trolls now too o.o *sigh* and it used to just be the GD too
