Layla started at the sound of Jack's voice. Somehow she had dozed off while her thoughts were wandering. Silently berating herself for drifting off in such a dire situatioin, she peeked out from under her hood.
"Watch the left... The fork should be right up there. It's not far after that." She replied quietly.
"I just hope we get there in time."

Mei nodded, dashing down the fork once she saw it. She began to search for any sight of a man, her eyes keener then most so she knew she could trust them. Already she was once again increasing her own body heat, knowing that if they did find him that’s what he would need.

He nodded, those eyes narrowed a bit as they became more slitted, more feline like and glowing slightly with that yellowish green color, enhancing his ability to see. Making him able to see a bit better in the gloom and snow. When Mei dashed down the fork, Jack followed close behind her, light on his feet and careful not to jostle Layla too much as he moved. His grace seemed almost unnatural, well..compared to a human. He sniffed the air a bit, for any hint of the man's scent they came to find.

Layla looked about, watching for the telltale signs of the avalanche. As she watched the upper bank of the path, the trees were missing branches in places and saplings had been snapped nearly in half.
"Here..." She whispered to herself, before saying it out loud to her companions. "Here... this is where it happened. She turned her head toward the deep ravine on the other side and called out "Gavan?!"


Gavan's eyelids had started to droop against the cold, feeling heavier than was normal. As it howled through the ravine, the wind seemed to call his name, singing him an eerie lullaby. Despite all his instincts telling him to stay awake, he'd started to drift off into sleep; at least he had, until the wind began to sound like Layla. Only it was so far away he couldn't quite be certain.
"Layla...?" He called out, barely able to hear himself over the squall.

Mei nodded as she heard Layla speak, spotting soon a flicker of cloth. “There!” She shouted with a tone of excitement, starting towards the place in question. She could see it was a man clearly now and so nodded to herself satisfied. Now she just had to figure how to get to him….

"Wait here, koneko." Jack lowered himself a bit so Layla could easily slide from his back and sit in the snow. His tail uncurling from her waist and once he was certain she was situatiated as comfortably as she could get and no longer holding to him, he practically bounded to where Mei had gone."Imoutosan, go keep the girl warm." That said, Jack had bounded past Mei, with almost reckless abandon he brought himself closer to where the male was. "Oi..I've come to help." He called a bit loudly, but softly, as he approached the male. Those glowing cat eyes were filled with concern.

As jack beat her too it Mei nodded, watching as he went to get Gaven for a moment before walking towards Layla. She would kneel next to the girl, her body producing a warm aura from the dragons power so that Layla would feel like she was sitting next to a strong heater. “He’ll get him out…” She said quietly and with confidence.

Layla sat on one of the logs amid the debris from the earlier avalanche. Her heart skipped a beat as she watched Jack disappear over the side of the cliff. As she was about to attempt to get back up to watch him scale the cliff, mei came to sit beside her. Eyes wide with fear and anticipation, all she could do was nod in response.


Gavan looked up just as the cat-like face came into view. He was certain now that he'd already fallen asleep and was dreaming. He blinked, raising his eyebrows over the same dark eyes as his cousin, though no other features seemed terribly similar. Suddenly the word "help" seemed to have processed in his mind.
"Layla?" He inquired, not wanting to waste energy more than he needed to. Though why he would care about energy expenditure in a dream was anyone's guess.

Those eyes glowed a bit, and Jack smiled beneath the mask he wore. "No worries, yuuchou, I'll take you to her." Jack moved quickly, but easy and gently. His movements were deliberate and carefully considered before they were even made. This man was injured and the snow and ice was tricky. It called for caution, but also quickness. Slowly Jack picked the man up, rather effortlessly it seemed, and held him in that classic princess-style. Though it would have been easier for him to get back out if the man were on his back. Judging from the looks of him though, one of his arms was a bit useless at the moment. "I won't drop you." He reassured the man, holding him close to his bare chest, tightly but gently so as to not hurt him.

With a little bit of difficulty and that tail straight out behind him for balance, Jack managed to make it back to the girls without any mishaps. He thanked his lucky star and the goddess Ishtar for keeping him from slipping or dropping the man in his arms. He looked at Mei and Layla. "We should hurry back..he's injured and it could be very bad." Jack was frowning beneath that mask.

Steven was getting very worried of how long Layla and the others have been gone."maybe i should look for them?"Steven thought

Mei nodded as he jack arrived, breathing a sigh of relief. Watching him had not been an easy task as he made his way out. Inwardly scolding herself for getting attached she turned to Layla, focusing on the dragon which caused the tattoo upon her body to open one eye and look around. It saw she was only doing it to carry Layla and went back to sleep. Mei then picked up Layla in her arms bridal style and began to carry her back…Her body would be warmer then a humans should be due to the dragon blood being active but not so much as to make Layla uncomfortable.

Gavan's head had nodded forward as Jack had climbed. Now, with chin on his chest he slept silently in the other man's arms.



After a moment of being shocked at Mei's strength she looked up at Jack. "Please... just get him to warmth quickly." Layla said, giving a tentative smile. The relief in her face was obvious, drowning out the pain and exhaustion she still felt.

His eyes were on Mei. "Hayaku, imoutosan. Hayaku!" They were wide with fear. Gavan had fallen asleep and that was not good. It was still too cold. He jostled the boy gently to rouse him. "Ne, yuuchou, you can't sleep. Not yet." Jack had already started walking, back in the direction they had come from. Though his eyes were on the man in his arms, lowering his head to nuzzle the man's cheek with his half masked face and purring softly to get his attention. "No sleep..not yet..I know your tired and your hurting, but you can't fall asleep just yet....try to stay awake a bit longer, onegaishimasu!"

steven walked over to one of the windows to see if layla and the others have arrived
"im really worried about them"Steven told herself

As he spoke Mei merely nodded, turning to face the inn. Holding Layla close and focusing the dragons strength and speed through her body she began to move quickly towards the Inn. She wouldn’t pause, not even to speak, as the dragon began to tire her out. She had to keep going…just get the girl safe…then she could rest…

(( sorry guys... but I'm nodding off at the keyboard...let's get everyone back to the inn so I can get to bed myself))

Gavan roused slightly, his face creased in pain. His head rolled to the side as his eyes opened, and he watched as the snow-covered woods rushed past him.

Layla wondered, now that she had the leisure to do so, how the girl kept her speed with the weight of another person to further hinder her progress through the snow. Perhaps it had something to do with the sheer amount of heat her body had started putting out.

((hehe I think we all were intending to go to bed soon anywho xD. Least I was))

Jack's purring had stopped once Gavan's eyes opened. "Good...it's dangerous if you fall asleep..you could still be called by the shinigami." Jack seemed to pick up speed a bit, almost he could see the lights of the inn..and then finally, he could actually see windows. Soon, but not quite soon enough in his opinion, he had reached the inn door and shoved it open with his shoulder. Entering quickly and looking to the barkeeper, his eyes still glowing a bit. "A room and bandages....hayaku, quickly.." the bartender jumped and rushed to do as he was told. Jack followed the bartender to the room, and laid Gavan on the bed gently. He took the bandages from the bartender and shooed him away before quickly but deftly tending to Gavan's wounds, then he would cover Gavan's body with the blanket. Lucky for them the barkeeper had been smart enough to give a room with two beds. He moved to the other bed, the one he knew Mei had put Layla on. Quickly and silently, deftly with quick fingers he tended to her injured leg.

As a thief and an assassin, one needed to know how to tend to most wounds. When he was done, he sighed softly, looking them both over. "Good...sleep now. Oyasuminasai." He would shoo Mei out of the room with his hand as he followed, closing the door behind him and then going to his own room to sleep curled up beneath the window.

The warm woman continued her track until she reached the Inn, laying Layla in the bed provided. Though she swayed slightly as she walked out she paused to turn and wave at Jack’s shooing hand. “I’m going I’m going” she mumbled as she stumbled her way to the bed in the room they shared. She then would nearly collapse on the bed, simply laying there a minute and breathing deeply to push out some of the hot air in her lungs. She’d fall asleep fairly quickly after…

Before Jack had even finished dressing his wounds, Gavan was asleep once again.

Layla looked across the room at Gavan as he slept. "Thank the gods you're safe." She said quietly before drifting off into a dreamless slumber.

Christy nodded to Talin and looked towards Jin once they group had left him there. She snickered "He thinks you can't handle the cold hehe, I think it's true." Poking her figure at his cloak. "I..." she starts to yawn, stretching her arms above her head. Her ears laying flat as she patted her mouth. "I'm going to bed, later Jiiinn" She dragged out his name as she went to look for an empty room to claim as hers. Upon seeing the fluffy bed she quickly jumped in under the covers. Snuggling with the pillow until she fell asleep.

Jin looked towards the nekojin, and narrowed his green eyes. But gave him the girl, he stayed back as they went off to go find her cousin. "Meh, it was going to be troublesome anyway. Best they go out there, instead of me." Jin mumbled as he turned to look at Christy who he heard snickering. "Oh shut up." He growled at her while she was yawning. "Someone is tired" he mentioned and shooed her off. shortly after the group came back, a thin smile cracked his lips as they quickly tended to the two. Knowing the girl and her cousin were okay he went off to find him a room to sleep in. Taking the clock off and laying across the bottom of his bed he pulled the covers over his head and went to sleep.
