My dad didn't care but my mom does. And since he passed away I don't have that advocate anymore. I don't even live at home but when she comes to visit she gets mad at the anime I have. And its not even the bad stuff I have out. She doesn't read English well. Its the font (ie Gooseumps)/ the adult advisory (EQ4)/ the pictures/cover or something like that that gets me busted. My problem is because I'm not married and I live less than an hour away she feels she still has say in my life and being raise in a traditional hispanic home I don't argue the point about letting me live my life like I should.

My sisters would rat me out in a heart beat if they knew I liked Yaoi and watched that and Shounan Ai. I have such a wonderful family. My brother doesn't care so long as I don't get caught. My sisters will save the data to bust me in the future. And mama-boss who is 4 inches shorter than me yet still scares me.

There's no way my parents are going to just show up and say hi. xD I grew up with them in Texas and now I live in California. My mom's also mentally retarded and not able to get around well, though she's doing a lot better about that now than she used to be. Of course, my mom "ratted me out" to my grandmother, so it's been some fun time dealing with that. I still got the good end of that situation ("You're damned and going to Hell, but I still love you..."), but it still hurt.

Heh, my parents don't really care? It's more they don't see what I look at. I'm pretty sure my parents would be fine with me if I wasn't straight... considering my mom told me 'I don't care, so long as you're happy' and when I was younger we use to joke that my dad was one of my mom's co-worker's gay lovers.. even though both of them are straight.. <<;; so my family is pretty cool with stuff like that. I think my mom's more openly excepting of it then my dad because she had a gay great uncle. My dad is more of the 'so long as I don't see it it's fine' kind of guys. His stance is it's none of his business so he doesn't care what happens.

My mom is mostly okay with it, because one of her brothers turned out to be gay... and was murdered by his "friends" when he came out to them. She never got to tell her gay brother that she still loved him and in fact told him he was disgusting and that she hated him for it. So she's more forgiving towards me. My dad clung to my crying one time he was drunk and told me that he wished I hadn't turned out this way, because he just wanted me to be happy, and gay people were never happy. Sober, he never acknowledges my sexuality and calls all of my partners my "friends". I'm very glad that they took it that well.

That's kinda true. Its hard to be happy when it seems like the government policies are against you. But at least your parents haven't disowned you. I guess that's something positive to look at.
