A mother and daughter on the TV show Toddlers and Tiaras. The girl was normal and sweet when younger, but by her nasty mother she ends up turning into a nasty kid. :cry:

This girl was pretty sweet at the start, now she is down right nasty. Even blowing off a girl who was supposed to be her good friend. All thanks to the mother's example. This lady bleaches her kids teeth EVERY week, pageant or not. Bleaching is not recommended for kids under 16 and is supposed to be only done once a month. And her kids hate it! How is the not at the least mistreatment?

I don't like those shows. The mothers are horrid.

Maybe I'll splurge when I visit my family. But I really need to learn to do it myself because its sooo much cheaper.

It has never ceased to amaze me what parents can get away with because it's not seen as mistreatment by the law. A friend of mine's husband was horribly mistreated emotionally, mentally, and physically by his crazy aft mother. He never had enough to eat - when he first moved in with my friends he ended up being a food hoarder/black hole because he wasn't used to having enough food in the house, he was on numerous drugs for mental disorders he did not have, and his mother continued to harangue him about his wife even after he moved out. Suffice to say, that woman is not allowed near his son.

It's only quite unfortunate that she still has her hooks in his two younger siblings.

Hello Kirin's thread! :D

We have some pretty bad problems with it here. Most infamously was the "hot sauce mom", which is tame compared to the actual stories that our paper will publish. Relatively compared, the hot sauce stint barely had any press.

I'm still on the fence when it comes to using poor parenting as an excuse to behave so strangely as an adult.
