My school is dumb. The art show was totally rigged. The piece that won best in show is one of the crappiest things I've ever seen. I found out about this basically at the beginning of today and I'm STILL angry over it.

What was it? Did you take pictures? What was your entrie?

My entries were my pieces Creamy Shores and Hooked on Funk that is on my DA (my website). The things that won was a crappy pencil portrait that looks like a cartoon basically and some fruit done with colored pencils.

I don't care that I didn't win but I care about the crap I lost to. Don't have the title BEST IN SHOW and pick pieces that really aren't.

krok kun told me about that and i was so mad lol.

I totally see why no one really bothers with their art since the show is rigged. I used to think it was pretty fair but not anymore.

Keep at it hun, a hack may have won this time...but you'll be the one laughing when you have your own gallery in new york. The great artists have always had bad expirences in their younger carrer with contests. Judges are ussually looking for the tecnical in work and not the actual art. That's why crapy no imagination still lives win so often in those things. Like really who cars about a bowl of fruit? Does it say anything? NO! As an artist all you gotta do is take that expierince and use it as fuel to push upwards.

Have you guys ever seen that artist that drew Jimmie Hendrix in like minutes on a large canvas on a huge stage. That man is brilliant. Not just for his art, but his ability to preform on stage...Though I suppose he must get so into the image and he doesn't look at or notice the audience until the end. I would Youtube him and show you but yeah not knowing the name doesn't help.
