I worked for a well respected man Kym Illman (About Kym | Kym Illman) back in Australia who does a lot of business motivational talks around the world. During his talks he gives one big piece of advice regarding troublesome customers. He advises everyone to put a post-it note on their desk with their competitions number on it. If a problem customer comes along he simply gives them the number of his competition. If a customer is going to be a problem for you, he is going to be just as big of a problem for your competition.

The lesson you can learn from this is that if you work hard to keep 99% of your users happy, there is always going to be that 1% that is never happy with anything you do. It's this 1% that take up 90% of your time - time you could have spent either getting new users or making the other 99% even happier. If someone is going out of their way to make your life miserable you should remove them from your life (or simply ignore them) and focus on making the rest of your life better.

Understandable about wanting to dedicate the majority of your time and focus on making the 99% of happy users happy and gaining new users. But to me, removing or ignoring a problem from your life (whether it is a pesky user or other normal issues that arise in everyday life) isn't going to make everything work in the long run. It's like sweeping the dirt under the carpet. Sure, you can't see it there but you know it's there in the back of your mind. I know from experience of trying to ignore issues at home that it's not always the best thing to do. I also realize that no matter what you do, you cannot please everyone. It's a shame that the world works that way but I do believe that everyone should try to work it out and if the situation calls for it, work on a compromise.

On a side note, I do hope you don't think I'm trying to be a pain in the rear. I just like to comment on things I read and I would like to see from everyone's side. Oh, and I really am not trying to make fun of the lawyer you have. I'm sure he's a good one. It's just, from the ones I've been around, most tend to have a pride problem. Then again, most people suffer from that. Human nature at its finest. -.-

I'm glad to hear that. I realize that things are not always rainbows and unicorns (oh, but how sickeningly cute it would be if that was the case) and not everyone can work problems out but a girl can wish.

When you appeal to 99% sheep and spurn intellectual individuals who actually see flaws in your plans, you sometimes have to wonder just if you're doing the right thing.

And from what you are saying, Azazel, and formerly Gabriel were simply thorns in your side who were best off deleted from the system. You pick and choose who will join your little site and eventually you have a member base who is content to graze happily on grass while you guys simply attend to your sheep.

Perhaps if you did not have such glaring issues then these "thorns" wouldn't be such a pain. Solve the problems, and they grow silent.

I'm curious. What does this make me? I'm a troll 90% of the time, out to make life more miserable for 90% of the people I come in contact with. Does because I am different mean that I am not welcome here at all?

@ the short life comment. I'm going to take it that you have butt-cancer, and that you don't have much time left. That can be the only excuse you'd really have for spurning people from a goddamn website. I mean honestly. How much time do your assistant administrators have to just piss away here daily? And if life is so short and you are *clearly* so great, why do you bother with this financial drain anyways? You've said yourself that this place drains a HUGE amount of money from you PER month, why does someone who is so shallow and interested in material things harbor any interest in this internet venture that's clearly not going anywhere?

Oh Inso, my love. You always skip 80% of my conversation.

Buuuut weren't you bitching at one point that this site is a HUGE financial drain on you? Like something about a down-payment on a house worth out of your obviously well-financed pockets?

And I do not hate the site per-say. I just hate 90% of your staff and most of the things you do. But I LUFF YEW. :D

Making you aware is not bitching. Yes the site is a huge financial drain, but not I'm not bitching about that. The only thing I dislike is when users scream Gaia at any attempt to make the site less of a drain on my wallet.

I've been quiet mainly because I can't really contribute to the current conversation. I don't know anything about what's happening, so it's best to keep my mouth shut.
