Soooo I have decided that i'm going to try to get into nursing school fall 2011. IT seems like the wisest career move i could make right now. There will never be an underneed for Nurses, and i think i can handle other peoples bodily fluids.

LOL... yeah, I've found myself watching the kid shows without the kid too... sometimes they're actually pretty good... sometimes it's just habit to turn on the TV at a certain time

Additionally... it had been 8 years since I had used any kind of math... and i took my Algebra in SUMMER SCHOOL... which is is twice the speed of other classes... speaking of which I still don't know how I did on my finals... *is afraid to look* ^.^;;

Nursing? That's a fantastic idea and you're the kind of person who I think would do well with patients. Do you think you'll specialize - like a baby ward nurse? Since you've breastfed Little Man you'd be a wonder there. You'd actually know what you were talking about instead of some of the nurses I dealt with!

I was talking to this girl from college whose hubs is a nurse, and she was saying that i should be a Certified Nurses assistant first, get a job and then continue my education. I'll be able to get paid, while getting RL training, and possibly college credits. If i go to our (almost) alma matter i have the possibility of getting paid and them paying for my college, and put on the fast track for being hired on at the hosptal as an RN. I have a lot of thinking to do, and only a semesters worth of time to do it in!

It's easy to become a CNA - I know because my mom is one. Nursing homes are always hiring CNAs but you have to watch out for lecherous old men; mom has quit a job or two because of that but don't let that hold you back! Not all old men are lecherous in nursing homes.

I think that's a fantastic idea but what would you do with the little ones? I'd assume you'd have to move back to M-town. I've been looking into going back to M-town myself for school. Maybe this could work out to our mutual advantage?

I figured that about being a CNA. If you read the wiki article, it sounds much better then what the job actually entails. I believe SNT is the next step up the nursing ladder, and if i get the schooling to be one of those, that's how i'll get the schooling and the job from BMH. The rub is , I really don 't like M town. At all. Outside of the college, the place is a shit hole. So I don't want to move there, but also don't want the 2 hour commute there and back. So i'm going to try to go to someplace in town. There's a major college run teaching hospital here, and i'm hoping that halfthishalfthatuniversity will have the same sort of work scholarship deal going on. I need to talk to some admissions people. Honestly, I have no idea what i'm doing.

If it turns out that you have to head back to M-town let us know. We don't really like M-town either and aren't looking forward to the prospect of going back but realize that it may be a necessary evil.

Definitely check into Half this-half that and see if they can do anything for you.

I'm trying to figure out what I would need to do to be considered a disabled student so I can even go back to school. There's no way I'd be able to handle the stress of a full time schedule but I wouldn't be able to afford to do less than that. Even if I have to be on disability to get through school I don't want to be on it for the rest of my life - I view it as a tool for getting back on my feet.

We've been looking at the possibility of saving up money and moving to Chicago because of Illinois being easier to get on to disability and therefore it'd be easier for me to get off disability eventually too.
