I loved it.
I want any Kids I have to be happy, weither they are one gender and like the toys tailored more towards the other gender.
Though I know other kids can be rather cruel

Although I've never been the biggest fan of pink (I can remember actively verbally bashing it since as young as kindergarten), I do appreciate the subersive poster and its message. The poster/image itself is quite old, it is been on my hard drive for years. The liscense on it is NOT restricted to "no pasting anywhere without express permission", etc, it is "put this anywhere and everywhere you can". It is MEANT to be viral, and if you have seen a resurgance of it on facebook lately it is probably in response to our recent holiday-gift season.
I, do, remember when I downloaded my very first IM client, MSN messenger back in the 9th grade. I wanted to pick a nice brigaht colour to stick out so I picked 'fuscia'. I was talking with a handful of blokes who all went to the same school in Essex and they made fun of me for using 'pink' and I 'yelled' at them "IT'S NOT PINK, IT'S FUSCIA!"... after tthat I did succumb to a less bright and less pink oriented font. For years now, when I switeched to AIM as my primary messaging program, I type with white on a black background, mainly because of my nighttime tendancies and the darker the screen the easier it is on my eyes.
Also concerning the video with our guest star Riley, I presume it is her father recording her and the very last thing he utters at the video is a very honestly resigned "That's a very good question, Riley, It's a very good question indeed." During most of the video he is using the "Talk to his little girl voice" but during that part you can hear the sadness, desperation, and resignation of the 'victory' of the corporations in his voice, I actually give him kudos for letting his emotions come through and for posting the video in the first place.

I'm quite happy to find this thread after returning from a long hiatus - during which I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out my own gender identity. Actually I've known I was unusual since I was very young - it caught me a lot of hell when I was in elementary school; I wasn't enough of a "boy" to be friends with the boys, and I wasn't enough of a "girl" to be friends with the girls, I was just some freak.
Well, as I got older, I started to feel a disassociation with my anatomy as well as having a notably "unusual" set of interests. I tried to ignore it for a while because I had too much else going on; I could figure myself out later.
Recently I've finally come to understand what I am the best I can. I am typically, but not always, somewhere between male and neutral.
I was lucky that my parents were annoying at worst about what I am when I was growing up. They made fun of me for liking my Easy Bake oven and my Hot Wheels equally, but that was the worst they did. They still don't really know what I am - not because I'm afraid they'll be upset, but because I'm afraid they'll make a bigger deal of it than it is.
Also: I love that picture.

Purple used to be the colors of Royalty because the dye was so expensive only Royalty could afford it

I know that, and I'm encased in royal purple satin right now even. -grins- But men currently and historically have worn purple (especially powerful/rich men) so I don't understand why its viewed as a strictly feminine color....

That kid...is the best big brother EVER. Unless you count unofficially adopted family; then he's the second best. But that is an amazing story. I hope their father gets beaten with the sense stick and fast, though.
Also, the thing I found a little bit ironic is that...I have never seen many parents who would PREFER their kids playing mindlessly violent games to ones with a strong plot. I mean, sure, I love my zombie-fighting games as much as the next guy, but honestly, I usually prefer RPGs to shooters, because...PLOT!
And frankly, I don't understand the "girl colors" thing. Colors are colors. I have never seen a color with genitals.

Pink and red used to be manly colours and blue a feminine one.. I think it was all changed in the 50s? I can't remember, I did read an article about this once. All children used to wear dresses up till a certain age too. Did we discuss this in here already perhaps?

You're partially right. Pink was manly until the forties, when Hitler used smallish pink triangles to mark gay people.
As for the everyone wearing dresses part, it was just the easiest garment to make, and with them wearing diapers, it was easier to get at them to clean them up and all. Now they all wear onesies. lol.

I rememeber in an episode of Ouran High School Host Club, they had both of the MALE Hitachiin twins wearing dresses in a flashback where they were circa five years old. One was pink and one was blue. I was wondering if it was foreshadowing that they were going to be "homo homo" and "twincest" types. It seemed a bit overboard to have them in dresses and to have one in pink and one in blue as if they were a couple.
So, my roomate found this comic, and he immediately shoved it in my face and couldn't stop saying how much it reminded him of me
The basic premise (I have only delved in recently) is a young person with XY chromasomes believes themselves to be 'A Princess'. The adult term for this would be "Transgender". Their best friend Irma is a rather ECCENTRIC yet accepting person with XX chromasomes who doesn't care one way or the other (who wears all black). I feel the main character's frustration about being pushed into roles you don't want to be in, but I don't, say, go around exlaiming to be "A Princess" (or A Knight in Shining Armor). I'm actually almost exactly like the friend. "Weird? I don't know what you mean..."
The URL for this webcomic is http://the-princess.funonthe.net/index.php
If this receives positive reception from you all, it will probably be front-paged.
P.S. You might need to just click the link once then hit 'back' for the images to appear in your browser. Unless I have viewed them already in this session they come up as properly sized "X"ed out out boxes, just so you are aware.
