I have the game on rent right now. I might buy it once I've got the money, just so I can beat it. (*has never beaten a game other than Flower before, let alone a Final Fantasy one...* >.>). I really like it, but I'm boycotting the 360 version. As much as I love the 360, I'm very disappointed in Square Enix's decision to release it on that platform. Since the 360's capabilities of disc space are lower, they had to lower the amount of content just to fit it on the system.

However, I do like the game. I'm unsure of what to think of the characters, though. I'm only about....4 or 5 chapters in. XD I'm trying to do as much as I can. I make a point of fighting almost everyone so I can get enough CP's (reason I haven't beaten the other games: I skip the fights and don't level enough and then get stuck at a boss and can't go back and level more. T_T ). I've found that if you fight everyone, by the time you get to the end of a chapter, your Crystarium levels should be pretty much filled. Also, I make as many side trips as possible to collect all the items lying around. Pretty simple to tell where they are, too, since there are mysteriously placed dead ends all throughout the game.

I like the battle system, too. It's definitely unique, and I'm surprised I got the hang of it as quickly as I did, especially with my previous history of gaming. haha It's like a mixture of Xenosaga's preview of upcoming enemies/ability to move around them, Eternal Sonata's attack gauge, FFX-2's dress sphere's, and usual FF style. I'm not sure I like their use of the attack gauge, though. In Eternal Sonata, you could move around while your gauge charged, allowing you some sort of opportunity to dodge. Here, you just end up sitting there like a log while you wait and hopefully don't get killed in the process, though you put the command in before the enemy. =/ Oh well. It's just another challenge to overcome, I guess. haha

Overall, though, it's a good game. And Hope looks exactly like my friend when she puts her blond wig on. It's creepy and hilarious at the same time.

Not sure if I'm going to buy FF13 as I thought I would. Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition came out and I only had enough money for ONE video game. D: I still haven't chosen yet, but from what I've heard FF13 is AMAZING. Their new battle system is complicated and takes a while to get adjusted to but I'm excited!

Yay, I finally almost caught up to where I was in the original file I had made. And this time, I didnt mess up at all. Though, before I leave the current area Im in(Chapter 8: No Place to Run) Im going to make sure my Crystarium is maxed out...and I know just the fight to do it with. Caution, spoiler ahead!!! Read at own risk. :P

There is a small group of Droids near the save point right before the ! point on the map, they tend to give 640CP a time, and they arer fairly easy to dispatch. To get them to respawn, go back to the Treasure Sphere in the Mall area(first sphere after leaving Chocobo place), even though you might need to fight some other stuff on the way to them, it is well worth it so that you can easily fill out Vanille and Sazh's Crystariums. Since most of the things cost almost 1100CP to attain, you can easily fill it out in 30-40 battles...lots of grinding, but HUGE amounts of CP on the other characters when you get back to them. SO I think it would be worth it do so, and make all the following battles just that much easier.

I like it well enough, in fact I think I might just go play some more of it. I really like they brought back the leveling system of FFX back. That was my favorite part of that game. All of the classes are really neat too :3

Seems a bit shorter than the other games though. I hope it's not as linear as it's been playing currently - basically just travel along path A to cut scene points and fight bosses rinse and repeat. But that's not so bad.

Well, for the first 20hours or so its all very linear. After that the side-quests open up, and you can wander anywhere you want really, doing anything.

Oh? So it does have side-quests to do :3
That's nice to hear. I'd like to get to Pulse sometime soon and actually find out if it is in fact, hell on Earth.

Apparently, you get to wander on Pulse around chapter 10, maybe 11. So pretty close to the final chapters you can wander around there, and check it out. If you watch the opening scenes(before choosing new game/load/settings) you actually see scenes from Pulse. One of which has monsters Im looking forward to fighting, especially since I do have the strategy guide, and they seem to be extremely strong. The weakest one has almost 500k HP, the strongest, over 16million HP.

Played all FF's exept 11. I'm really liking 13, my favorite. . . . I would have to say it's a tie with ff6 and ff7.

I'm still early on in FFXIII, near the beginning of Chapter Four. Still adjusting to how to best employ paradigm shifts and such. But it's a great game so far and it looks amazing. The only sour note up to this point has been Hope. I don't like him. They should have named him Bitch and Moan. He's a whiny little butt. But hopefully he'll change. ;D

He may be like that, but he IS the best magic caster out of all the characters you get. Mind you, right now for me its almost a tie between him and Lightning for healing. Mostly because I cant upgrade their Medic any more than it is for now.

My boyfriend is playing my game now since he said he'd be bored all weekend (he finished his God of War 3 in two nights) and I keep hearing Square Enix can't live up to Square Soft and I liked the characters in the other FF's and I like Nobou's music better. I was kinda getting irritated by it

Nobou is an unbelievable composer. I wished he had something to do with FF13. That being said, I think I still like 7 better. This game is awsome in its own right, but I am actually finding myself playing Pokemon SoulSilver before FF13.

Got FFXIII on release day, play it every chance I get. I am loving it, I have played just about all of the Final Fantasy games, except 5 for some reason, and this is turning out to be one of my favorites. FFVII will alwyas be my number one, and I find it amusing to see how many parrells they have in XIII to the other Final Fantasy games. I have to admit that I do wish Nobou did have something to do with the music, he is just brillant. But on a whole XIII is turning out to be an amazing game, and imo so much better than XII.

Wow...so, I just beat a boss battle in Chapter 10, thats supposed to take 24min, and took me only 2min:1sec to finish. I think I over did myself in the leveling. But then again, the boss before it was a major pain.

It takes time. Like for me I just hit 22.5 hours, and Im on disc 3. So, its a nice long game, and sidequests dont really open intil Disc 3, and when you reach end of chapter 10, begining of chapter 11. And honestly, after the cinematic I just viewed...Im happy that they made it such a long, and big, game. Nothing better than what you can almost conceive as real footage from around the world.

O.o
So...after I go beat Gabriel Celeste in Star Ocean 4 a grand total of nineteen times (and that's just the estimation - which should amount to about nineteen million HP - good lord..) I can do it again in this game? At the very least I won't be bored for a loooong time :3

I found one of the weaker versions of that guy(and by weaker, I mean he only has 300k HP), and it did one attack, which wiped out my team, dealing over 6,000 to each of them...the most health on ANY of my team members is just over 2,000. So Im thinking that battle will majorly hurt when I get to it...or I can end up upgrading the equipment that gives more health to the max level, and hoping to whatever Deity wants to take pity that it is enough to kill the SOB.

Trust me, you will get hooked even more once they start telling you the back story of how everything started. It is honestly the reason I played it so much at first, I HAD to know what happened, and even now, at chapter 11, I dont know how everything happened. All I know is that Vanille is even weirder than she originally seems....and lot weaker than I wish she was.

Oh, and a little advise for everyone: Kill as much as possible(even running backwards) because Stage 8 of the Crystarium you need a maximum of 8,000 CP to get half of the things, though in Chapter 11 there is an area you can go back and forth doing 2 fights that give you a total of just over 5200CP. And they are easy with pre-emptive.

I'm on Chapter Seven now. I still don't like Hope. It's eased a tiny bit though and i'm still hoping he can turn me around. And I do see how angry Snow's relentless cheerfulness and hero talk can make him angry. Snow is kind of a dork. ;P

For the first five chapters, Lightning comes off as the hugest jerk. But I understand her distance and coldness now. And I enjoy playing her in the lead roll the most.

Szah is my favorite. He's the stand out character, I think. Which is a relief, cause at the beginning there you think he might just be comic relief. But he has a lot depth.

I stated before that this is a great looking game. And gorgeous isn't a word I throw around a lot, but traveling through the Sunleth Waterscape, that's the only way you can describe. It was incredible to look at.
