Helena wandered back to the town center, heading toward the corner shop that hadn't long re-opened after getting news that the husks were gone. She saw a group of people outside, chattering excitedly about what had happened, exchanging stories of their experiences with the creatures. She smiled slightly, watched them all talking happily amongst themselves knowing that the trouble was over.
The walls were being washed of blood steins and families were reunited after being split up to get refuge quick as possible.
When she got into the shop, she looked around at all the items ranging from every day medical supplies such as plasters and painkillers, some snacks for lunches and the daily necessities.
Helena walked over to the shelves in the corner, displaying still drinks and took a bottle of water, taking it to the counter and purchasing it.
"Thanks.. Your family, are they alright since all of this happened?" She asked the shop keeper serving her.
"They're great." He grinned, nodding and handing her the change and bottled water. "We're doing well, how about you?" She smiled and nodded back.
"I'm glad, tell them I said hello?" She grinned, ignoring his question. She walked out of the shop and looked around warily before walking back over to the fountain and sitting on the edge once again watching out for anything unusual.

When he finally found a healer the was able to sit down long enough for them to fix his internal injuries, as well as the shoulder wounds, though the aching in his body would take longer to get over. as for the shoulder wounds, being visible and still damaged some healing past and bandaging was applied, a few minor scratches and bruises being treated at the same time. He paid the healer for their services and wandered out into the town, taking a deep breath as he wandered through the people, but was more concentrated on fitting his guns magazines with fresh bullets from a small bag at his hip.

Once he'd filed two magazines he ejected the ones in his guns, replacing them with the two full mags and began fitting bullets into the other empty clips, though found himself stopped by a man with a bandage over his neck. Quinn looked up at him, a bullet between his teeth as the man smiled down at him,
"Heard yer the one to be thankin' fer me still bein' human. Thanks lad." He searching behind himself a moment in a satchel he was wearing until he produced a cloth, opening it up to him, there was a small band, just large enough though it was structured so that it could be extended. Quinn took it curiously, "M'girl wants y t'have that." He started, Quinn looking at it as he held it up. The words Thank You were scrawled into it poorly, but he smiled, slipping the simple item onto his wrist and resting it just at the edge of his right glove.
The man, however offered him one more thing, what looked like a pouch of money and Quinn raised his hands, shaking them,
"Nope, I cant, old man. I'm pretty well taken care of by my order, besides, you need it for yourself and the girl," Quinn smiled passing him, leaving the rather bewildered man to watch him curiously as he passed, still a little physically stiff from all the excitement,
"I have all the payment I need right here," he held up his right arm and smiled at the man before turning around and carrying on, returning to placing bullets into the magazines, when he was done with that he pocketed the magazines, closed up the small bullet bag and put his hands in his pockets, passing by the town center rather quietly.

Helena glanced up to see Quinn passing by and scowled slightly. She remembered earlier when he had said about his town, how it 'wasn't there anymore' and wondered exactly what she meant by it. She asked herself what happened to all the people there, unless everyone was murdered in another attack of the husks and how exactly the town was 'gone'.
Thinking over it, she realised the only other way to find out would to be to travel to wherever it was he used to live and find out for herself but knew it would be completely impossible without further information.
She sighed quietly, curiosity getting the better of her and got to her feet. She finished the bottle of water and disposed of it in the bin nearby.
Helena walked over to Quinn and walked beside him, looking down at the path. Before speaking, she frowned slightly and looked at him, tilting her head slightly.
"If... You're here, why is your town gone? What happened to it?" She asked sympathetically, for once actually wanting to listen to what someone else had to say.

Quinn looked aside to Helena when she appeared, looking rather surprised to see her there, he placed his hands in his pockets as he stared at her for a little while, she wanted to know about the town.. When he remembered it the images flashed before him so vividly, things he didnt want to see anymore, but he could never forget..
He had stopped still, his eyes glazing over slightly, however he then shook his head suddenly,
"Agh sorry.. What were you saying..?" Quinn replied suddenly, his eyes refocusing as he looked at her eyes, smiling for a moment but he forrowed his brow, an apologetic look,
"Hey.. I'm sorry about the stuff I said earlier, was uncalled for.." He suddenly apologized, raising a hand to rub the back of his head as he looked over at her. Yes he'd avoided the subject, looking ahead of himself again,
"Don't worry, I wont bother you and your town anymore, I'm going back to the Templar's Sanctuary."

Quinn smiled, though rubbed his ribs softly, still feeling the pain in his body, or perhaps it was just the aching..
"Wait.. I d-.." He stopped, rubbing his chin for a second, "I dont think I caught your name." He smiled, lowering his arm and looking ahead, he couldn't remember having heard her name, or even asking it and if he didn't remember it, it probably didn't happen. Oh the joys and curses of a good memory.

"The people in the town want you here by the sounds and looks of it.. they're thankful for your being here." She began, looking back at him with a soft expression. "When I said what I did, I never meant that you have to leave this town.. I don't know what I meant, in all honesty."
She looked away from him and around at the people in the center, smiling seeing some familiar faces who lived nearby her. When they waved, she grinned and waved back at them. When she lowered her arm, the grin faded and she looked to Quinn again, thinking.
"Thank you, for the apology. I'm sorry too for what I'd said.. You're welcome to stay here, obviously, it's a free world."
She shrugged a shoulder and ran a hand through her hair, wondering if he would honestly consider staying in such a place.

Walking a few steps away from him, but still in distance to have a conversation and to see him, Helena sat down on a bench and crossed one leg over the other then looked at him again.
"I never said. It's Helena, Helena Corina. Always lived here, once with family, now alone due to.. things." She scowled at the ground slightly, thinking about the past and memories of her so-called family who abandoned her at a young age.
She bit down on her tongue in thought, angry at the thoughts then looked back at him once the scowl had left her face.

"Even if they want me to, I cant.." Quinn, shook his head, shrugging to himself, he regretted this fact personally, looking aside to her and smiling, "I go where the demons are.. As a Templar its my job to hunt down and destroy demons that harass or kill humans, threaten their way of life," He replied, smiling sadly, though looked ahead of himself as he pocketed his hands again, looking down towards the ground as well.

He turned his head to look at her for a while, grimacing at the thought of her having been abandoned by her family, he looked forward again, sighing for a second but then looked at her again,
"I would not know how it felt to be abandoned.." He started, stopping walking forward as he looked along the dusty street, seemingly lost in thought before he tilted his head slightly, "Demons.." He spoke suddenly, shifting his gaze toward her, shaking his head, "That's what happened to my hometown.. It doesn't matter now.. It's been and gone.."

Quinn looked ahead again, relaxing his arms, he didn't want to say more.. The memories sat there in his mind, horrific reminders, the screaming rung in his ears as clearly as it did that day, and the blood.. So much blood, it made the pit of his stomach fall away to remember it..
"It was nice to meet you, Helena.."

Helena frowned slightly watching his expression change and vary between sentences.
"Sorry, it wasn't my business to ask.." She shook her head and looked down. After thinking for a few moments in silence, she looked up at him and smiled slightly.
"How about you stay here for a little, at least until you're completely, completely well enough to start travelling again?" She suggested.
"The town and I owe it to you, it's the least I can do anyway. You did save me from more or less dying, right?" She smiled a little more, folding her arms across her stomach, still watching him.

"It was an impertinent question.." Quinn replied, shrugging his shoulders and looking aside to her with a grin, "My old master used to say that you never get real information without impertinent questions.. If you don't want an answer, rookie, don't beat around the bush, or I'll smack ya." He changed his tone of voice midway as though he was imitating some-one with what he imagined to be a far more gruff voice, making a chopping action with his hand then chuckled,
"Good times.." He paused, tilting his head to her for a moment but then rolled his right shoulder, "I dunno.. An entire town wanting me here is pretty nice and all.. But I'd be more inclined to stay if you wanted me around," he teased a little, looking at her for a moment then looking at the road ahead of them again,
"Technically I'm fit to travel right now.. But I suppose I could hang around.."

Quinn gazed her way a moment and rubbed his chin,
"Yeah I did save you didn't I? You know when a guy saves a princess she usually gives him a kiss, but I have a feeling I'm more lightly to get a slap through the face.." He held his hands up defensively and chuckled, "So I think I'll pass on the reward.. But it'd be nice to know you want me to be her for a more personal reason than the town and you owing me.. You dont really owe me anything, its my job and the Templars job, all you owe them is paid by the royals who support the work so you're pretty much getting my expert demon-slaying services free." He said expert with a groan of pain as he held his ribs again, "Okay so I'm just well-trained.. That was my first solo mission."

"Hardly a princess." Helena smirked, getting up from the bench and walking over to Quinn. She pushed his shoulder lightly and playfully. "You honestly would get a slap, but I think the old woman over there would gladly kiss you for saving her life." She grinned and nodded toward and old woman sat on a bench with a few other elderly friends, waving toward them with a smile.
"Well, like I've said, you're more than welcome to stay. I have three spare rooms and the kids are away anyway.." She smirked, thinking. After replaying through her mind what she had said about the 'kids' she grinned and looked at him, realising how odd it sounded. "Not that I have kids, I look after the neighbors when they work out of town."
Helena began walking away from him, slowly enough to see if he would follow or just stand there. After a few steps, she looked back.
"You're welcome to stay. I'm not going to admit I want you to, I don't know you well enough to know that myself." She shrugged a shoulder lightly and placed her hands by her sides again. "But if you want to sleep outside with the insects and the cats, be my guest." She smirked beginning to walk again, heading out of the town center.

"Hardly a princ-" He looked at her seriously for a moment and put his hands on his hips, "Now are you sure about that?" He asked, leaning toward her, "I beg to differ.. " He replied, making a wry grin, "You look like a princess to me.." Quinn argued with a smile, but leaned back and shrugged to himself, "Well.. Sort of, maybe not the clothes, but what I can remember from my moms tales, I dunno.. You're kinda how I would have imagined princesses to look."

"Uh.. sorry nevermind that." He shook his head, raising his hands in a defensive manner, but chuckled then, "Anyway oyu cant lame me for trying.." Quinn replied, reaching up to clasp one of his shoulders in his palm and sighed as he looked up in the air for a while, biting his tongue softly as he breathed in a little then lowered his form slightly, looking over at her for a while before smirking,
"Sure alright.. I guess I'll hang around.. I'm not in top condition, but I'll help out around the place if you want me to, It isn't my thing to sit around and relax.. the old master would get so pissed off.." He chuckled again, "Bein' stubborn's one thing lad, but beatin' yer head against the wall in hopes of knockin' it down's just plain stupid.." he imitated the gruff voice again, "But you know.. That very same day I broke down that wall.. Well it wasn't a real wall and it wasn't with my head, I mean okay I succeeded what i was trying to do but then I was laid out in a bed for half a month.. I think after that I realized he might have been right.. I think.. You know it was all kinda hazy because I was half conscious most of the time."

Helena stopped and watched him with a confused expression.
".. You ramble to yourself often or is this just one a one off thing because I'm here and don't make much conversation?" She smirked. "Unless you're one of those people with those little voices in your head, in which you need to get that checked."
She pointed over to a large while building and grinned. "Psychiatrist in there, he can help you when you want to get your insanity sorted, lad.. And no calling me princess or a princess, you'll definitely get a slap then." Helena grinned watching him and folded her arms, thinking whether or not it would be worth call the psychiatrist to him as a joke or to keep on teasing him about the 'voices in his head' comment.

"I.. Ramble.. Very often.. I blame my mom, I think she ate a lot of sugar when I was in the womb, at least that's the excuse some people make for me anyway," he grinned innocently, though looked at the psychiatrist building. His face fell, he seemed to shrink away from it slightly, that lost look coming across his face as he tore his gazy away, "I've seen enough to know I'm not insane.." He replied, walking around her so that he was on the other side, opposite of the psychiatrist, almost as if using her to shield him from it.

He didn't insist on calling her princess, in fact he'd fallen a little quiet, his hands in his pockets as he walked and his eyes tot he ground. It was quite a change of character, not that this was too unusual considering how he'd acted recently, first fun-loving when eh began the attack on the husks, then he took on a skilled, professional manner when he had to deal with the husks on his own, serious when the demon confronted him, even injured him, this leading to a rather dark side of him, almost filled with malice, back to his usual relaxed or otherwise hyperactive self.

Once he felt he was a safe distance from that place they'd passed he looked aside to her again,
"Do you cook? I haven't had a homecooked meal since.. My mom.." He hesitated to finish the sentence but managed anyway, lowering his head, "Though.. You don't have to concern yourself with me.. I could visit a tavern or something.."

Helena grinned slightly, looking at him. "If I didn't cook, I'd be useless in all honestly. The taverns here are good for social life but never for meals, trust me." She looked ahead again, thinking about a meal she had there when she was younger, after that having food poisoning and no longer being able to stomach any of their food.
"Just one minor question though... Are you allergic to dogs, at all?" She asked with a puzzled expression. Though it seemed a random and irrelevant question, she knew it would affect his stay if he were. Not only that most of the residents in the town were dog lovers but because she owned one herself though didn't feel right to mention it straight away.
Before arriving at her house she looked to a neighbors a few doors down and stopped outside seeing flowers and pictures on the doorstep. A letter was stuck to the door which said 'In memory of Olivia and Leon Malvern, they will be missed.'
Helena frowned reading it, a heartbroken look on her face. After waiting a few moments, she shook her head and carried on walking in complete disbelief that two people she had grown up with had passed away, most likely murdered thanks during the recent events of the husks.

Quinn looked aside to Helena and smiled, folding his arms in front of himself and smiling,
"Are you kidding? I love dogs, the Templars keep a few war hounds back at the sanctuary. We have a few dire wolves too, I got to take care of a few of them as a cadet, I even helped raise a dire wolf pup," the young man chuckled, "Good times.. We use them as trackers, teach them to sniff out demon blood when we cant sense the demons who hide their powers."

He watched her for a moment when she read the letter, frowning a little himself, he supposed she'd known those people. He had seen many letters like that himself, but at least they could rest in peace now, knowing the demon that had caused their death had been brought to its ultimate judgment,
"It happens often, unfortunately, they're with Him now," He reached to his chest, placing his hand over the cross he had there and closed his eyes in a small prayer before continuing with her,
"So what else do you doa round here Helena? I mean now that the demon's gone and the husks are done with." He asked, normality fascinated him since he'd not experienced it as much, but many other people had, atleast more than him. His life had become one single direction after he'd been left with the Templars, he could barely remember life before the attack on his town.

Helena stayed silent for a little while before thinking and resuming conversation. She nodded softly and look to her side at him, not much of an expression to her face.
"We have a puppy, he's boisterous but not too bad to deal with."
She thought for a while, ignoring the comment about her friends being with 'Him' and thought for a moment.
"It's all dependent on what you're interested in doing." She explained, folding her arms across her chest and tilting her head slightly in thought.
"Normally, there are meetings in town... Sort of like get together parties. As far as I know, we'll be having one tonight in celebration of the husks being gone.. After everythings cleaned up, of course." She smiled slightly at him. "Depends on whether you're a social person or not."

"A pup huh? Back at the stables any animal that's fairly feisty is said to have a healthy future." Quinn looked back at her with a slight smile of his own. The thoughts on what he'd be interested in doing never really crossed his mind.. When he wasn't training or learning to deal with various demons, he was usually napping or thinking of what else he could do to defeat demons.. Now that he had a free moment to just relax.. He wasn't sure what he'd want to do..

As she explained about the meetings and the celebration he felt a little tempted, but wondered, raising his hand to his chin as he looked at her quietly,
"Well.. I'd probably not mind but I'd be a bit shy if I went on my own. Would you be going?" He asked curiously, putting a hand behind his head and laughing a little nervously, "If it isn't too imposing, I'd go with you," Quinn mentioned this but then stuck his hand to his mouth, biting down on his knuckle and wincing, though qujickly stopped the action and put his hands in his pockets, "Y-you don't have to if you don't want to.. Nevermind.."

Helena grinned a little at his response and nodded. "I don't have much of a choice to whether I go or not. Either way, I'd get dragged out of the house by my neighbours if I didn't show up. You might as well come along, saves you sitting around bored, right? Besides it'll be good to meet new people."
Beginning to walk a little quicker, she reached the front door to her house and took a key from her bag. Slipping it into the lock, she slowly unlocked and opened the door then glanced around for the boistrous puppy. Within moments, a large bang was heard upstairs followed by the husky puppy rolling down the stairs and lying stupidly at the bottom step.
"You bloody stupid animal, I swear you'll get yourself killed one of these days." Helena rolled her eyes and took the key from the door, walking inside but leaving the door open for Quinn. Wandering over to the puppy, she petted his head and put her bag down on the window sill, placing the key beside it.
"Make yourself at home, I guess." She smiled a little, heading into the kitchen.

"No choice, huh..?" Quinn frowned a little, but in a sincere manner, smiling a little as he placed his hands on his hips softly and leaned closer to her with a slight grin, "I guess I'll have to owe them. And I'm usually not bored, always got something to do." He remarked, standing straight again as he watched her unlock the home, tilting his head a little as the puppy tumbled down the stairs, though he only chuckled a little,
"Durable little thing, huh?" He mentioned, but then followed after her into the kitchen, having closed the door. He was looking around rather curiously. Make himself at home..? This certainly wasn't home as he remembered it nor could he go around changing it to reflect home..

The young man reached behind him, pulling up the orange tape that hung from his waist and locked it around the guns, tying it deftly so the guns would not be stolen while he was walking around. Simple precautionary measure. After that was done he placed his hands together in a silent prayer, with the demon in this town defeated the town felt normal.. It felt like it had a future now, not that he had such a gift.

Helena wandered round the kitchen, thinking of what to cook as well as whether it were right to let this 'friend' she's just met into her home or not. Sighing quietly to herself and muttering under her breath about the situation, she decided to just let it go and see how things went. Looking around the kitchen once again, she walked to the far corner in the kitchen nearest the door to the garden and opened one of the cupboards which inside had food for the puppy, enough to last him one or two months. She picked up the bag and began to pour the contents into the bowl on the counter and placed it on the floor, on the opposite side of the room. As soon as she had finished preparing the puppy's food and put the bag away, she stood up straight and looked to Quinn, not keeping too much of an expression to her face.
"So, anything in particular you want to eat or drink?"

Quinn watched her, getting a bit of a dark feeling, the uncomfortable pulling in his gut when stuck in an inconvenient situation.. He'd felt it when he caused trouble a s akid while training, whenever he'd act up or just plain screw up. The chaplains would stare at him int hat way.. Or simply continue while he sat in their detention room waiting for the discipline to commence.. That same awkward feeling..

As she asked about food or drink he looked at her with a concerned smile, sincerely worried as he placed his hands together in front of him on the table,
"If you aren't comfortable with me being here I can go.. I already feel like I'm intruding, I don't want to bring you any more discomfort with my being here.." He mentioned, placing his hands down on the table and stood slowly, resting his hands at his sides as he looked at her, "I'm not forcing you to have me here.." He added, looking toward the door he'd used to come in,
"I should go," the young man stated, looking at her again, "The sooner I'm gone, the better, right?"

Helena stared, quite confused at his remark about intruding and 'sooner gone, the better'. Frowning a little she leaned back against the kitchen counter and shook her head.
"I never said that you were intruding nor did I say there was discomfort.." She shrugged thinking back to a few moments before when she was mumbling to herself, wondering if he had heard her comments. Shrugging her shoulder again she stood straight and folded her arms tightly across her chest.
"It's not that you.. should go or that its better you're gone. I'm just not used to having others live with me, especially with fact I don't know a lot about you."
Helena frowned a little and dropped her arms to her sides, thinking and seeming uneasy.
