"Seriously? My Aunt's going to kill me if she finds out about today!" She slowed her pace a bit to help keep Jinx close, but still keeping her eye on the mysterious man. "Who are you anyway?" She called to him. "I'm Sy!"

Jinx skated after her,"He's the guy who was stalking me!" Jinx skated slightly faster.
She dodged the people who were walking by,"I'm Jinx though," She yelled anyway.

Kaden looked over his shoulder to make sure the girls were keeping up, weaving through the crowds until he slid down a small, dark alley, catching the one who called herself Sy's wrist before they passed the opening. The alley was more like a gap between two buildings, just wide enough for a person to stand in. He let go and motioned for them to keep following, moving about fifty feet down the small gap, crouching at a large grate in the side of a building. He slid a rusty hinge-pin out of place and pulled the grate out, setting it aside. He moved back the canvas that was behind the grate and motioned for them to go in, looking behind them to make sure no one had followed.

Jinx bumped into the wall before straightening herself,"Ow..." She stared the the alleyway with wide eyes. Then she skated inside the opening, almost crashing into Kaden before stopping.
She looked around before looking at Kaden,"So? What's your name?" She didn't know what else to say or to trust him, the police were shooting at him so he could be a criminal.

Sy gave a small yelp when he grabbed her wrist, but she nodded and went down the alley, checking to see that Jinx was still behind her. "Jinx, I don't think he's going to tell us." she sighed and went through the grate.

"But I wanna know!~" Jinx replied, pouting slightly. Now she knew she was being a child but who cared now? Her parents didn't care since she didn't ask much from them. Sometimes things can go in her favor.

Kaden had slipped into the room after them, pulling the grate behind him and slipping the hingepin back into place. The heavy cloth fell over the opening and the musty room was in darkeness.Only the light that fell through tears in the cloth and through cracks in the buildings walls. Kaden stayed still a moment, listening. Satisfied that no one had seen them and followed, he moved over the the adjecent wall, his silhouette cutting into the beams of light. A dim lamp blinked to life and the girls could see the low ceilinged room was a basement to an abandoned building, complete with crumbing stone walls and cracked cement floor. It was furnished with an old matress, a lamp, a tattered rug and a small table. Crates served as chairs and a nightstand and small, 1950's style fridge was pluged into a makeshift jack in the wall, the wires open to the air. There were a few books about and a few boxes seemed filled with random things, some with clothes. A metal garbage can cut in half had ashes and cold embers in it, seeming to be the only source of heat in the place.

"I am Kaden and this is my thank you for saving my hide back there.... You two aren't safe on the streets anymore." He said finally, waiting for Sy and Jinx to take in their surroundings.

Jinx looked at him wierdly,"I have parents you know," She replied stubbornly,"Besides, why not?"

Sy's eyes scanned the room. Without waiting for an invitation she made herself at home and sat on one of the crates. "Kaden? Alright. You're very welcome. Now what is going on? We both have people that will notice that we're not where we should be." She rested her elbow on her knee, her temple resting against her middle and pointing fingers, and watched him.

Kaden sighed slightly and examined the two of them more. After a bit, he picked up a book from the floor pulled out an envelope, addressed to a Geoff something. He pulled out the paper from inside and held it out for them to see. It was a welcome letter for swaG: School for accelerated learning. "Have either of you gotten something like this in the mail?" He asked, his voice cool still, but with a growing undertone of anger.

"No, not that I know of... My Aunt has been searching for a new school for me, so if I had gotten a letter she'd have it..." Syrina frowned. "SwaG, school for accelerated learning...weird...Whats your point?

Kaden tossed the paper on the small table and sat on another one of the crates, stretching his long legs. "I'm sure you've seen the big black vans roaming all over then. Have you heard of the disappearances?" His dark eyes stared hard at the two girls. "This isn't all just a coincidence, I've seen them take gifted teens just like us. They kidnap our kind and take them to this 'School'. It's just a cover, I've seen the hired muscle they have, they almost got me once." He then pulled out half of a emblem patch, some of the fabric it was sewn to still attached. It had half of what looked like a 'w', an 'a' and a capital 'G'.

"Wait, our kind? There are a lot more than just the three of us? Jinx was the first person I ever met that was different like me." Sy looked at the patch and at the letter. "As for the vans, I'm not the most observant person you'll ever meet. Although there was a guy in a suit taking the same route I did in my wanderings this morning... He looked slightly out of place... If the school is just a front, what do they want with us?" She put her elbows on the table and pushed her hair away from her face with a sigh.

"It'll be dark soon, we'd better head back to The Duchess." Ryu said, pointing in the direction of the large, crumbling building. He and Ed stood from thir places in the park, full of pizza and questions about what they had just seen, but neither said anything to the other.

Roseline hopped into the black van that came for her, disappointed and empty handed. She was dreading the explanation she would have to give to the superiors for the reason she came back alone, even worse was the punishment she knew would follow the report of her failure.

Colby said to the driver without looking at them to take no mind of the girl, that she wasn't being taken, for now. There was no way that he could have made this as clean a getaway as he had with so many others like her. Today was not his day. The car sped off, and Colby watched as the girl stood there and watched them leave.

Lexi's boss dropped her off at home in his car. He was one of the few people outside of her immediate family to know of her abilities so he was taking extra precautions with the government types. He pulled up by her off white house and put it in gear and looked at her. "Listen Lex... those people that were at the shop earlier are after you... I know you can look after yourself because of your gifts. I know these government types" Lexi looked over at her boss and nodded "I will Mr Alderman" She got up out of his old 50's ford pickup and waved to him. He drove away and she made her way inside to a sleeping father on a couch and her mom probably still at the bar working. She made her way to her room and turned on her computer and her TV and put it on Cartoons as her computer turned on. She fell back on her bed and sighed "Why would the government be after my powers?" She looked at her hand and squeezed it into a fist before relaxing it and letting it fall on her matress. She decided that she would get her PJ's ready and go take a shower to get all of that frease off of her body.

Jinx then took note of her surroundings, when she found out that she was in a small space, she sort of freaked out.
"Can I go now??" She asked, and started fidgeting with her skirt, she was extremely claustrophobic, and the space she was inside of didn't help that fact.
"And what of the vans? I see black vans a lot but they don't come after me...." Jinx wasn't the easiest person to convince about anything in particular, especially in a small space such as this.

Syrina looked over at Jinx. "have problems with small spaces love?" she asked, frowning. "Look Kaden, tells us what you want to, and then we're out of here. "

Jinx was slightly close to becoming insane,"A b-bit....." She stammmered. She looked at Kaden,"My brother is waiting for me at the park so can we hurry up?" This was slightly true but Jinx wanted to bet out as soon as possible.

Syrina shook her head. "You know what, whatever. I'm outta here. Your welcome for saving your butt" She muttered as she angrily stormed out. She noticed that it was starting to get dark out. She shivered and made her way out of the alley, looking out to make sure that there were no cops or anyone that looked like they'd kidnap her, about. She sighed, shaking her head, this time at herself and her own insecurities.

Jinx looked at Syrina's retreating figure and ran off after her,"Wait up!"
Tyler was at the park, waiting for his little sister to come by so he can take her home, once it started to get dark, he dialed her cellphone number.
Jinx answered her cell,"Hello?"
'WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU JINX?! I'VE BEEN WAITING HERE FOR 4 1/2 HOURS!" Tyler yelled through the phone which made Jinx flinch.
"Ow....sorry sorry Tyler! Just because you're my brother doesn't mean you can yell!" Jinx yelled back.

Sy stopped for the other girl. When she started talking on her phone, she stifled a laugh. "come on, from the sounds of it your brother wants you. Where are you two meeting?" Syrina asked, flipping her hair off her shoulders, and cracking her knuckles.

Jinx rolled her eyes,"At the park, but he's so overprotective!"
Jinx walked on to the park and saw Tyler pacing around,"Hey Ty!"
Tyler looked up,"Where were you?!"
"With a friend," Jinx pointed to Syrina,"Tyler, meet Syrina, Sy, meet Ty."
