Yes indeed it would be nice. And we do plan to implement a marketplace at some time in the future. Something hopefully easy to use and accessible to our users. But there is no exact date for one at this point. :)

But, doing things like that have caused Gaia much inflation. I'm finding it kind of hard to get gold here, and I believe a user run marketplace, like Gaia, would make gold easier to get, but also make things more expensive. With it being easier to get your gold and items from other users rather then the store/exchange there would be a need for more expensive shop items.
But I really don't know. I've only been here for a day. ._.
