So, um....hi!

As you can probably tell from my scantily clad self, I am new. Yup, fresh of the meat truck.

What brought me here was two things. One was the curiosity of clicking a button on facebook, and the other was the fact that I wanted to try something new considering how many years I spent lurking as a poor Gaian.

I'm really not sure how to start on here or what to really do, can anyone offer and words of advice?

everyone is really nice on here! you'll love it, I hope!

I know the rules can vary a lot on here then on Gaia online so just make sure you read them well!

Herrow Herrow... it's all good, you smell fine and I'm sure you'll earn your new threads soon! The place I found [find] most helpful for information is the Information Desk and here's how to find it: go to Forum and in the green rectangle on the lower left-hand side you'll see it...

...I don't mean to be rude by giving you directions to get there, but I'm one of those people who looks for e.g. bread at the store for 20 minutes then asks and the store clerk who points behind me at exactly what I was looking for!!

Oh, one tip I can give you that I found neat - correct grammar and spelling earn you more in your posts than slang! :]

I think many of us have appeared due to a link on facebook saying "Sick of GAIA!?" Well i was too. thus i am here, now... how where do i buy a decent pair of baggy black jeans and some boots?

The shops, even though the setup is really strange to me! Hopefully I'll be decent looking soon!

Shop setup was strange to me too at first, but just takes getting used to. :D

How does the layering here work? I ask because on Gaia the layering can be a little wonkity sometimes.

Also, do you know how to find other users on here? Someone sent me a trade for a shirt and I accepted it without saying thank you and now can figure out how to find them! I feel like such a putz!

So far I'm really starting to like this site! It feels a lot more grown up than Gaia and I'm really enjoying how intricate the pixel work is! I'm just wondering if there are wig you can equip or if you just can't change your hair.

I will say this about the games, I'm officially re-addicted to Tetris and Centipede!

There are a TON of layers, so you'll have to just equip things and find out how they work. :D Just for a small example, you can wear like, four shirts at once -- and the same goes for bottoms.

Some top layers:
Long sleeved shirt
Short sleeved shirt
Tank top
Belly-showing shirt
Vest
Jacket

Bottom layers (skirts only, though you can put pants/shorts under skirts as well):
Short, short skirt
Short skirt
Knee-length skirt
Long skirt

So yeah, there's a lot more freedom when it comes to layering than there is on Gaia. That's one of the most frustrating things about Gaia for me now -- there aren't enough layers!

Today I'm wearing a dress, a skirt and pants. And on top I've got a full body suit, a short sleeved top and a dress, not to mention three different types of belts. XP

To find other users, go to the Forum tab. You'll see a search box right on that page. If you type in their username and then click the :vicky: button, it'll pull up all profiles with that username in it. :D Just click on the right profile and you can PM them or thank them right there in their visitor messages. :D
