Quote:
"Well I really don't know,Lyn, I have only placed my power with in my herbalism I create. So I have never really directly tried to heal a person. As for bringing people back from the dead, that is impossible. Life is just like energy, and energy has a beginning and an end. It gets recycled back into the earth so the plants can continue to support us. Though I believe I have been here for a bit too long. I must get back to my home, I thank you for your company and I hope to spend some more time with you. "
I looked down to the kitten that was in my lap and suddenly jumped at Freyas exuberant response.

Quote:
"Hey! Plumie don't go yet. Would you mind going to the library with me? People seem to respect you here. Maybe people would be more likely to help me find information if you are there? I think locals revere you as being Holy. Just give Lyn and me a couple of minutes to put some of our things in our room!"
I let Freya talk to Plumeria about staying to help her with research as I pondered what Plumeria said. I wasn't sure what made me ask her, but I knew the answer before she said it. And I really didn't want to think of the reasons I blurted the question out in the first place. Bringing back someone who was gone would be impossible. Not even higher beings could do that... I sighed and stroked the tabby cat that had started to lightly purr in my lap. I put my ears back in to hear Freya and Plumeria's discussion.

Quote:
"Plus some times its better too see the human world from the other side. To look in as an observer and not really interfere unless its really needed to do so. I don't mean to be blunt but humans are a very destructive race, it took me some time to convince this village about that. They still are destructive, but they have learned to treat the forest with respect."
I agreed silently with Plumeria, knowing how destructive the human race was from personal experience. I truly didn't run from my older twin brothers. I loved them. But we were constantly looked down on as cursed and the villagers of my home town constantly believed that they needed to purify the town of us and shunned us from society. That's probably why I seemed so shy... But there was only so much I could endure. After they burned down the cabin, the one place I had left of my mother, I left without word to my only living relatives and now I was here.

Quote:
"Very well I shall escort you further. I don't mind too much, especially I have grown fond of both you and Lyn. So I will be more than happy to endure the village a bit longer. I shall wait outside for you though, I am growing a bit cramped in this building so I will see you two when you have finished up. Alright?"
I smiled, my mood lightening, glad that we weren't a nuisance to her. I cringed, wanting to leave with her. I wasn't very fond of the indoors too and the small break in the gloom, feeling the dim heat of the sun through the inn's window. I looked over at Freya who was finishing up her food. "Um. Are you ready to get a room?" I had no idea how to do so and hoped she had a clue. I only ever lived in the cabin....

((Sorry mines long too xD And sorry if the order of quotes don't make complete sense. I just went with it... ;)))

Deria was not happy today. She was, as a rule, very rarely happy these days, given the fact that the dryads had recently made a rule that she could only sleep or play near the stream, so that water was readily available to douse whatever her little powers happened to accidentally create. Today she was particularly annoyed, because she had discovered that her arrows were not hitting where she wanted them to. She would have to practice, and when she did that near the stream, it often resulted in a five-mile trek to find a lost arrow.

She pulled one of her practice arrows out. The kind that did not have a highly flammable flint tip. She pulled back the bowstring and watched the thing fly entirely too far down the river. She sighed and began to run.

Plumie slips out her flute as she begins to play it softly, closing her eyes. Playing a soft tune, a couple of birds and villagers gathers to watch Plumie play. Some bringing small gifts, her song goes into a playful tune. A fast pace, happy tune, finishing the song up. Plumie bows her head softly, towards the villagers that were watching, she looks down at the gifts as she took what she need and handed the gifts back to the villagers. Plumie never liked receiving gifts from the villagers, she continue to wait outside of the inn for Freya and Lyn.

Deria went to pick up the arrow, and as she was turning back, dangerously close to the village. But then she heard a song... no, it was no song, it was played by an instrument, but it was part of the forest and the forest answered it... then she shook herself. This could mean danger, if it moved the forest. She ran to the edge of the village and followed the sound to thing that produced it. She pulled out a bow and arrow, looking a little wild in her odd cloak, with the large mark that she had on her cheek, glaring at the group in a defnsive stance.

But they were only young girls... still, one had to be careful.

"What that?" she snarled looking at the girl who had made the music, pointing at her odd instrument with the tip of her bow. She knew enough of the rudiments of human tongue to get by should she have to, but no more.

I held the kitten gently in my hands and looked over at Freya. "I think I'm going to..." My sentence died as I heard the music coming from outside and I just knew it was Plume. The kitten, I decided his name was Boxers, had jumped off my lap and made his way to Plumeria, wrapping his body around her legs as she went into a playful skippy tune. "...join Plumeria outside..." I stood up slowly and mumbled the rest of my sentence as I started to walk outside.

The song ended as I got to the door and saw Plumeria thank the villagers without taking their gifts. I could understand that. I sighed, taking in the fresh air as I looked around. I paused on the form in the darkness of the forest that lined the outside of the village and saw a hat looked like a cloaked (? sorry if you aren't)form with a... bow? Pointing at Plumie?! I grew suddenly defensive that someone would threaten my newly found friend and protector, and the sky crackled, turning grey, a loud rumble of thunder ripping across the sky. My eyes mimicked the weather that brewed above.

Deria hated rain. It was so... wet! It got into everything and... Yecch.

Then she realized there was no rain yet. She turned to the new arrival and lowered her bow. Something about her eyes told Deria that they were related.

"Whatrrryou?" she growled.

Plumie looked up at the person in the cloak, she stood up tall. She was about 5'5", she looked to Lyn then the sky as she noticed that Lyn was controlling it. She placed her hand on Lyn's shouldar, to help calm her, then she looked back to the cloaked figure. "Well my friend here is Lyn, and I'm Plumie. I wish for you not to fight, especially in the village here. May I ask your name?" Plumie didn't really show any emtion on her face, expect calmness her head tilting to the side a bit as she observes the figure.

I calmed at Plumie's gentle touch, her calmness seeming to be infective. I stared intently at the girl, but relaxed since her bow wasn't facing Plumie anymore. I actually wasn't sure why I had acted so fiercely a minute ago. Plumie's questioned distracted me and I looked curiously at the girl, wondering who she was.

She had an odd aura about her. But so did I. The clouds began to break up in the sky and I felt guilty for my uncontrollable mood swings. I thought about how the villagers of my home town chastised me because of the "aura" I carried with me. Even when I was a small child, all I can remember is the snide faces of women and the children that wouldn't play with me and my odd violet eyes.... I blocked the painful memory from my mind and came back to the present, where I had finally met people like me. I was safe. For now...

Freya stood up and rubbed her stomach as she glanced around to find the inn keeper. Ah, there she is. Well, I better go pay up and request a room. She walked over to the counter where their smiling host awaited her payment. The rosy older woman introduced herself as Lyra.

"Thanks for the meal. It was simply delicious! Would you happen to have an available room? I need one with two beds, for myself and the youngster over there." Freya's slate eyes shifted over to the door and followed Lyn outside. Plumie was playing a dance tune that sounded both jovial and mysterious in the Dorian Byzantine mode. After paying for her meal she accepted her keys for the room and allowed Plumeria's flute playing to send her into a dreamy lull. Happily she chatted with Lyra and told her about how Lyn was traveling abroad and how her mother grew up in Preley. She figured it couldn't hurt to find out if there were any surviving relatives still around.
Picking up her bag, she walked outside to be summon Lyn and take her to her room. Surprise and confusion muddled her face when she saw the clouds tumultuously seizing in the sky. Plumie had her hand on Lyn's shoulder and they were both staring at a peculiar girl. Most of her visage was concealed in a cloak but she could make out a strange mark on her cheek. Her hands were tightly wrapped around a bow and arrow, to the point where her knuckles were white at the joints.

Quote:
"Whatrrryou?"
growled the girl.
I think she's talking to Lyn. Is there something I missed here? Fastidiously Freya turned to Lyn to ask her what was going on. "Hey, Lyn? I have the key to our room. I'm sorry it took me a little while. I was speaking with Lyra, the inn keeper. She said she's willing to give us a discount depending on how long we stay." Freya paused for a bit to send a cautious glance in the direction of the strange kid who seemed to have an issue with them.

"What happened while I was inside?" Plumeria maintained her casual air of level-headedness and she spoke to the girl. "Well my friend here is Lyn, and I'm Plumie. I wish for you not to fight, especially in the village here. May I ask your name?" Fight? Freya was under the impression that more than a storm was starting to brew while they were in her absence.

I looked away from the mysterious cloaked person over to Freya and nodded, feeling like I was still in a daze. At least I didn't make it rain... yet. I nodded at what Freya said and looked to the ground and the kitty. "I don't know how long we are going to stay..." I had no plans farther than getting the room. I had no plans... "I'd like to draw some village scenes. But I will stay with you until you find the information you were looking for about your mother. If you want me to..." I looked timidly at the ground, not wanting to be a nuisance or draw attention to myself. My dark hair shielded my eyes from view. I scuffed my shoe on the ground. "How long are you staying, Freya?"

I looked back over at the person to make sure the bow was not aiming at anyone, anything. I sighed and smiled sadly at the littly tabby that sat between my shoes, wishing I could keep him.

Freya stared intensely as Lyn looked to the ground and gave her reply.
Quote:
"I don't know how long we are going to stay..."
"Well, sweetie I don't either. If you're traveling I assume you have a game plan. Other places on the map you want to get to."
Quote:

Wrinkling her nose, Freya dismissively waved her hand at Lyn."Nah little miss, I don't expect you to do that. If you want to, well then you are welcome. But... Prey tell. What happened while I was inside talking to Lyra? There's tension in the air that's as thick as pudding." Cautiously, Freya cut another cold glance towards the curiously cloaked girl.

"I'm not sure, this person just came up and Lyn got defensive. I just calmed Lyn, though the girl over in the cloak has yet to answer." Plumie looked to the girl, "We mean you know harm, child, May I ask your name or provide you with any help?"
Plumie stare softly at the cloaked girl as she smiled abit.

I blushed but didn't say anything. My only intent up to until I met Plumie and Freya was to run. I was sick of the villager's scorn at my old village and I liked the freedom of no one knowing who I was. I had been very careful to keep myself in the background. "I don't really have any map of where I want to go next. I just want to travel." That was true enough, in a way.

I nodded my head, enjoying the company of other people. Then I crinkled my brow and looked at the girl in the shadows. "It was nothing. I was just being... stupid." I looked at the ground, not wanting to draw more attention to myself. I listened to what Plumie said to Freya and grinned shyly. "And it's not really 'as thick as pudding.' No sweet yummy feelings from this." I hoped my dry humor didn't make them angry, like it usually made others.

"Pudding quite delious, hmmm. Well I suppose you guys better head over to the library, before the rain comes down on us."
Plumie placed her hand on Freya's shoulder as well as she smiled, looking up to the sky as she watched it for a bit.
Plumie looked to the woman in the cloak, "Feel free to make your self at home in the village but please don't bring any harm to this village. Thank you." Plumie bowed as she headed towards the library.

I looked down at the kitty who sat at my feet and meowed. It looked so pitiful...

Quote:
"Pudding quite delicious, hmmm. Well I suppose you guys better head over to the library, before the rain comes down on us."
I grimaced at Plumie's words. Usually I was always being cursed with bringing floods and all kinds of bad stuff. But I knew she meant no harm, and really her words were completely innocent. Thinking of what else she said, I paused.

"If you don't mind, I'd love to drop off my bag before going anywhere. It's a bit.... heavy." In truth, my shoulders were killing me from constantly carrying the heavy thing around. I didn't know what made it so heavy, but it was growing intolerable. I looked at the ground, not wanting to cause trouble.

((Meheh. Okay, you or Freya are up to bat! :) I'll PM her...))

Freya's eyes grew wide as she watched Plumeria walk off from the in.
"Oh! But wait! Lyn and I still have to visit our rooms!" She didn't want to keep Plumie waiting, but she didn't want to be hauling around her huge traveling pack either. Excitedly, she turned to Lyn. "Come on girlie, we've got to make haste. Lyra will show us to our room and then we can just put some things down and claim beds so that we'll be somewhat settled when we come back.

She walked into the inn and saw Lyra patiently waiting by the steps. "Hello ma'am. We're ready now." With a short nod, Lyra headed up the oak circular stair case as she followed suit. "It the third door on the right dears." Lyra said before she scuttled back down to greet customers. Without hesitation, Freya pulled out a small black key with three notches and a round base. After shoving it into the door and opening the lock, she opened the door.
"Oh my lord. What a lovely room! If I do learn anything form this town, it will be how to decorate the perfect living space from Lyra!"

Like the bottom floor pub, this room had a quaint feel with a mauve and wood brown color scheme. The walls were a nice cream color with brown crown molding and asymmetrical mauve accent stripes. It was a large room but it had a soft and cozy feel. One bed rested along side the window while the other one was parallel from it on the other side of the room. The foot of the bed ended just at the opening to the door. At the head of each bed hung a painting. One was a painting of a little girl wearing a forest green dress playing in a field of flowers. The other was of a young lady in an elaborate ball gown surrounded by handsome suitors. In between the beds was a small light-mahogany night stand with a dainty lamp on it with a cream colored lace shade. The floors were also made of mahogany and had a small mauve area rug in the center of the room. On the other side of the room was the closet and a cream colored couch with mauve accents. Perfect, Plumie can stay there one of these days if she likes.

Hastily, she unpacked her clothes into the closet and pulled a small leather satchel from her pack before stuffing her larger bag into the floor of the closet. She only needed her wallet, a small not pad and her room key, so she was good.

Plumie walked through the town as she arrived at the library. The library was three stories tall, the tallest building in the village, it was wonderful built with windows trimmed with a light green trim and vines growing on the sides of it. Plumie walked up to the side of the library as she closed her eyes, making the vines bloom with flowers in various colors, she enter in the building as she greeted the librarian, Susan. "O Hello Plumie, your back. Its been some time hasn't it since we last seen each other." Plumie nodded, she remebered when Susan was just a young woman, now she aged like an elm tree, with wrinkles that highlight her wisdom and beauty. "Yes it has Susan, I'm glad to see your doing so well. I have some new travlers that have came into town. They are stopping by soon and I think one needs some help looking up some subject." Susan nodded, "I will do my best." After conversing with Susan, Plumie went over to her section she had grown fond of she stretched a bit and began scan the books placing many on a table nearby.

I nodded my head and followed Freya and a short woman upstairs to the room we'd be staying. I knew Freya was excited about the room and it was quite lovely, but I always preferred the open air to a closed in room. I sighed. At least there's windows... I walked towards one of them and saw that they opened to a balcony. That made me smile, glad that there was something nice about the room after all. I headed towards the bed closest to the balcony and set my heavy bag down, pulling out my sketchbook and a piece of lead.

I looked up and then realized my rudeness. "Do you mind if I take this bed?" I really wanted it, but I would let Freya have it if she wanted. I didn't sleep that much indoors anyways.

"Sure things little miss. I figured you'd like that bed. Oh, and here's your key!" Gingerly, she pulled another copy of the hotel room key out of her pocket and tossed it towards Lyn. "Don't lose that. Lyra said that the locks are all custom made, so it's a bother to get them replaced.
"So, you like to draw huh? Is that why you went abroad?" She peered deeply at Lyn's face, as if she were trying to see into her soul. She had a feeling Lyn was keeping something about her travels from them and she felt that she ought to know if it was a harmless secret or one of potential danger. On the same token, she didn't want Lyn to feel unwelcome, so she tried her best to watch her words.

Plumie after some time had collected about 20-50 books she had discovered around the library, all stacked on the table. She smiled as she sat down and began to read them, most of the books she collected to read were about history, human culture, plants, and several about myths.
Plumie softly hummed as she was reading intently, Susan was straightening up the library and in her down time was spent writing in her ledger.
Susan looked at Plumie as she shook her head, 'Always reading any time she comes into town. She must miss so much being in the forest. ' Susan thought her self.

Plumie wondered what was keeping Freya and Lyn, shrugging as she went back to reading at a remarkable speed.
'Humans are so destructive, why can't they understand they need the forest to live. Hmm I guess I will probably will never know.' Plumie thought as she study about the most current human history and culture.

I smiled, glad that Freya let me have this bed and caught the keys she tossed to me, fiddling with it in my hands as she asked me:

"So, you like to draw huh? Is that why you went abroad?"
I blushed as I felt her intent stare and looked away. "Yah." I couldn't think of a more plausible excuse but was glad that Freya at least assumed that I traveled because of drawing. It was a nice plus to running away, but not really my original reason. I straightened, chastising myself. I didn't run away! It's perfectly reasonable to leave home at my age... Just not unassisted, but I didn't think that as I turned back to the balcony. "Don't you have to go to the library? Plumeria's probably waiting..." I said quietly, looking outside.

Deria frowned a little. "Not Child. Deria." she said, pointing to herself. Then she heard them talking about pudding. She'd never heard of that before. "What is pudding?" she asked, hoping it wasn't her. They had said it was delicious. Did they want to eat her? No, she reasoned, Why would they call me pudding? And I'm too skinny to be yummy and humans don't eat things like me.

As Lyn pondered on whether Freya was going to leave to see Plumie down in the village library, a new storm was about to brew. She had decided that she enjoyed the scenery downstairs and wanted to draw some portraits of villagers in the bar and to see her new found kitten, Boxers. Excusing herself from Freya, she grabbed her satchel and put her scetching things in it, as well as her money she had 'borrowed' from her brothers.

She scoped out a good place to start her sketches in peace and decided the scenery was quite lovely by the back door. Sitting down on a washed-out stool, Lyn gently pulled out her drawing materials and stared at the cute tabby who was bathing in the rare sunlight shining through the open back door. Smiling she pulled out a pencil. A shadow fell across her white parchment. Looking up she dropped her pencil and nearly fell backwards off the stool. Recovering, she stood up, clutching her drawing book to her chest, fear shaking her body.

"What are you doing here? ...Sir?" She added to a very familiar form. It was the preacher from her old village. The one who had led the revolt against her and her family, claiming them as 'witches'. Anger grew inside her as the sky darkened outside. "Who sent you?" She scathed, backing away from the slimy black-attired man.

"You are a thief and a witch!" The preacher claimed loud enough for the entire pub to turn toward them, the silence deafening. "And I am here to get what is rightfully ours back!" He added with a crazed look in his eyes.

Bristling from the old accusation, Lyn glowered at the balding man, that was quite bulky and dirty for a man of God. "And what makes me a thief?" She blatantly ignored the witch condemnation, used to that bickering. "I have stolen nothing but myself." She added solemnly, taking another step backwards as the tabby, Boxers, wrapped his body around her legs, almost tripping her.

"You stole your own family's money! I am here to rightfully return it to the village!" He bellowed, pointing a crusty finger at Lyn, a greedy look coming in his eyes.

Return it to the village...? Lyn's anger boiled to bursting, the sky now a pulsing purple and black, thunder breaking the silence as wind shook the shutters of the pub and the back door banged violently on its hinges. Her hair swished out around her as her violet eyes turned a stormy grey. "You dare come here for my family money? You dare call me- ME!, a thief for what I rightfully inherit?!" Large pieces of ice hail fell against the wooden shingled roof in a roaring pummel as Lyn took a step back towards him. "And then call me a witch in front of these good villagers? Like you are saving them?" Another step. "Do not spurt lies under the name of God!" She stood toe to toe with the bulking preacher, anger blistering the air around her.

The rain turned the roads to mud outside as the stable horses grew frantic and the dogs howled at the pulsing sky. "Do not condemn me, Sir..." She scathed in a low voice. The villagers, now alert to the storm brewing to disaster point, whipped into a frenzy, shouting orders to clear the docks and close the shutters, run home to safety. But Lyn heard nothing. She wrapped herself in her fury, the weeks of running draining her and she pushed all the blame on the grimy preacher who stood before her, now shaking in fear....

Deria didn't like the rain. Not one bit. but she did like the lightening flashing across the sky, and so she just pulled up her cloak. She heard yells, and instead of running away from them as she had been taught, ran towards them, because she recognized one of the voices. The girl with the special eyes. She ran, leaping from roof to roof, until she was overlooking the scene. Some man in black robes, was cowering away from the girl, and she realized why she was special. She could play with the rain like Deria played with fire. She leapt down and knelt at her feet, trying to avoid the wet ground. "Stormbringer." she murmured. She turned to the other one. If the stormbringer, a powerful one of her kind, felt he was a threat, she had to help. Her eyes flickered and then blazed a bright, fiery red. A ring of fire encircled them both, making a barrier between the two girls and the preacher. The raging storm's rain kept it at a tolerable level.
