The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by Eric Shadower and Skottie Young was a delight to read. The story apparently remains true to the original story so it was different to the 1930s movie that most people are familiar with. But this actually makes it better.

The book itself, apart from the pictures and text that tell the actual story there's additional art at the back of the book and there's an outline of the history behind the story that was originally by L Frank Baum.

It's definitely one of my favourites.

That actually sounds pretty cool! I might have to look that up. :)

Oh, it's a beautiful book! Scottie Young's work is amazing, and it really is very true to Baum's original story. I'd recommend it to anyone. And did you know that Marvel's publishing The Marvelous Land of Oz now? Same writer and penciller! I'm waiting for the trade, but I have read the first couple issues, and... Well, it's just as good. :)

Thank you for the recommendation! It sounds like a lovely read. There is actually more than one OZ book so it would be interesting to see which parts of the original series they incorperate into the comic book. :)
