"Yes," Aesh said, smiling as Jake dug into the food. "Da Vinci. He's a kind man, though a bit of a procrastinator in nearly everything." The woman picked up her supplies, carrying them to a spot under the dragon's wing before reaching up and gently unfurling it. Pulling it down to her, she stood and carefully began to clean a few of the rips with a wet rag that she'd also brought along. "Once we get you fixed up, we should visit him." In human form, of course. He isn't one for dragons . . . he doesn't believe they exist.
-
((Minty!! ^_^ :glomp: Haha, you did good! Excellent, really! :D I like what you did . . . drag Tweak along. Good positioning as well. Now we have them all in one spot. I'll have to make Tweak do something . . . excellent rejoining blurb there, by the way.))
Tweak smiled a bit when Cyril pulled her along with him, still marveling over every little thing she could see. When they got to the food stand, the dark-haired youth licked her lips and pointed to a piece of pie that looked particularly appetizing to her. She didn't know what was in it, though it ended up being mostly vegetables with chicken baked within. Looking particularly pleased when her friend paid, her yellow eye flickered over to where Abel's voice drifted from - and she frowned a bit. She'd seen him, of course . . . most Zealots had by the time they were accepted into the order. It merely stunned her that he hadn't changed a bit. Not a bit. Nothing was out of place, even his young servant dashing back toward his master looked the same.
Shaking her head, the girl tugged on the brim of her hat before thanking Cyril. "I'm famished," she breathed, glancing around for an empty table. Seeing one with enough room for the two of them, she reached a gloved hand out for Cyril's belt loop, giving it a slight tug. "There's a place to sit."
Making her way over to where See'r and Alchemy sat, the girl smiled at them before tipping her hat and setting down her plate. "Good day," she said happily, giving them a completely false smile that reeked of insanity. She did have her moments, after all. Fortunately, she was too hungry to go through one at that time.
Plopping herself down, she patted the bench beside her for Cyril before glancing back up to the red-eyed girl in front of her. "Good food?" she asked, pointing to the sweets that both she and the other male shared. It smelled good.
-
See'r "looked" up at Tweak as she sat down, his brow pulling into a slight frown. "Good day," he responded, but then fell silent. He wasn't going to say anything, but his instincts were going wild. Instead, he focused on the small bit of sweet bread that he'd chosen to eat. After all . . . there was no reason to make complete strangers end up being the bad guy. He didn't know this girl, and she sounded friendly enough. She smelled slightly of rose, which reminded him of a childhood garden . . . but See'r couldn't distinctly point anything else out about her. She was small - but that was only a guess due to the height she'd spoken from before sitting.
"Glancing" to Alchemy, See'r smiled, and then resumed eating. Perhaps these newcomers weren't so bad.

Alchemy swallowed the bite of sweet bread covered in that sticky brown cream, which by the way was delicious. She eyed the two strangers who had suddenly joined them. Strangers weren't really a common thing for the blond and the last new person she had met turned out to be Abel. So she was slightly weary of the male and female in front of her. However if See'r was going to be polite then she might as well also.
Keeping her smile polite at best Alchemy studied the odd female across from her. In the outlaw camp they had seen their fair share of unusual people. When she asked about the sweets Alchemy remembered how good her first bite had been and selfishly was hoping she wouldn't have to share." It is, I've never had anything like it. Wouldn't you agree." she turned her face to See'rs when she asked him. reaching out her hand to brush against his so he knew she was speaking to him.

"Indeed," See'r responded, smiling as Alchemy's hand brushed his. "I would." Taking another bite of his food, the blind youth listened as the second newcomer sat beside Tweak. A male and female. He could tell just by the sound of their footsteps. "I would assume your food is good as well?"
Glancing down at her pie as she was chewing, Tweak narrowed her single yellow eye. "Yes," she said after swallowing. "I thanked my friend for this, though I'm going to have to do it again when I finish."
Small talk. Not tense, not free-flowing . . . just something to pass the time. Or so it seemed.
See'r fell silent once again, listening. Tweak, on the other hand, started to talk. Mostly about the carnival itself, but occasionally about the world and its strange workings. "Do you believe in dragons?" the navy-haired girl asked, glancing over in Abel's direction.

Alchemy swallowed the bite of sweet bread in her mouth a little hard when girl asked about dragons. This was why people like Abel should keep their big mouths shut. You can't get innocent people thinking about whether dragons exist or not. Putting on a fake smile she laughed a little red eyes glancing in the direction of that twisted Zealot's stage. Denying that dragons were real was something that even small children were taught in the outlaw village. It was an Outlaws job to help keep them safe even if they were to young to fight. "Of course I believe in Dragons. They're right up there with Vampires and the Wolf-man"

Cyril almost dropped the quail pie he had in his hand when Tweak tugged at his belt. He was busy trying to hear what Abel was talking about this time and wasn't really paying much attention to where he was going or where Tweak wanted them to go. The belt tug definitely allowed him to at least acknowledge that they were to be sharing a table with two other people. The Zealot recognized them as the circus performers he saw with Abel's assistant earlier. Still distracted by Abel's stories, Cy could only manage a nod to the blindfolded teen's greeting despite the fact that he wouldn't see it. The meat pastry he ordered already started disappearing into his mouth bite by bite as soon as he took his place beside his comrade. It was only when Tweak brought up the subject of dragons with the strangers that he felt something might be up. Although he still kept his eyes on the stage, his thoughts and ears were tuned in to the conversation at the table.

((OOH!! So sorry, Jake. *bows in apology* And I thought I'd gotten everyone, too. :())
Aesh stopped what she was doing, frowning a little as Jake pulled his wing away. "It's only going to get worse," she chided, motioning for him to calm down. "I need to clean it, Jake!" The woman stepped toward him again. I'll help, even if I have to get rough.
-
Tweak frowned a bit, laughing in an uncomfortable manner. "I guess if they were real, Mermaids and Genies would be too, huh?" The one-eyed youth seemed to blush, picking at her food for a moment before beginning to eat again. Staring down at the meal, she suddenly looked back up. "But wouldn't it be amazing if they were real?" her yellow gaze lit up a bit. "They could fly, and breathe fire! And can you imagine how awesome it would be if they weren't only stories?" Dropping the fork she'd somehow managed to snag, the Zealot sighed dreamily. "You can't tell me you haven't thought about it before."
-
Hearing Tweak's words made See'r wary, but he couldn't do anything about it. Instead, he listened - it was what he was best at. After all - it was all he could do.

Alchemy had taken a bigger bite after her sarcastic comment about dragons, the sweet taste was helping her keep up the act of indifference. As she chewed she glanced over at See'r to see how he was taking this conversation. Swallowing she kind of wished he would say something also. " Well yeah when I was younger, now I think they would just be big flying lizards." Poking the last remaining bit with her fork. " Do you believe in them?" She looked like someone who would, not that that was necessarily a bad thing.

"If I do that, then I'll have to put some salve on it as well," Aesh said quietly, tilting her head. She gently set the rag down, shaking her head. "I clean it with the cloth, or put medicine on it. I do think the medicine will be less painful for you." Glancing to his wing, the dark-haired woman sighed. "You don't want to ruin your flight, Jake."
-
The navy-haired girl scooped off her hat, letting it rest on the table beside her. Frowning, she nodded. "Sure. I mean, dragons could be real, couldn't they?" Single yellow eye lingering on first Alchemy, and then See'r, the Zealot looked a bit abashed. "I hear they shape-shift," she whispered, trying not to sound too ridiculous. The young woman ducked her head, taking another bite of her food after reclaiming her fork. "I mean, that man on the stage could be a dragon, for all I know. But it would be nice to think about, dragons being real."
See'r suddenly spoke up. "They aren't real," he said in a low tone, surprising himself with the ferocity of his words. "They couldn't be. There wouldn't be many left if they were."
Tweak tilted her head, frowning a bit. "Why is that?"
"The Zealots," See'r hissed, his anger rising. "Like him." Though he was fingering the last bit of sweet bread in his hands, he referred to Abel - who was coincidentally stepping off of his stage, speaking with multiple people while heading for the food stand closest to them. "Haven't you heard him? He sounds like a crusader out on a wild goose chase."
The girl narrowed her gaze, and looked over to the Zealot that was buying some sort of food. "I suppose," she said quietly, sounding a bit embarrassed for ever "believing" dragons in the first place. "I guess I'm not the only one that thinks about dragons, huh?" Fiddling with the edge of her hat's rim, the girl glanced to Cyril as he ate. "I didn't mean to offend."
See'r merely fell silent again, a bit perturbed by his own irrational lashing out at the stranger. After all, it wasn't wrong to contemplate the dragon's existence. Slipping the last piece of his food into his mouth, the blind male merely kept to himself again.

See'r's anger made the blond want to reach out and try to comfort him in some way, also holding his hand would keep her own anger at bay. Alchemy was to sure though how that would come off to the other two. Would it give something away, would they think that See'r and her were suspicious in some way. Deciding not to risk it she merely moved her leg forward so that her knee rested against the blind man across from her. " All this talk of Dragons is silly don't you think. I mean we aren't children anymore. And we haven't even introduced our selves yet." She wanted to steer the conversation away from dragons and Abel, not to keep their cover but because she hated seeing See'r so angry.
Holding out her hand to the yellow eyed girl who looked around her age Alchemy smiled. " I'm Alchemy."

See'r felt Alchemy's leg touch his, and the youth forced himself to calm. Resting his hands on the table before him, the male merely frowned at the rough surface in front of him. His friend was trying to calm him, and he knew it. He also knew that he risked revealing their ways as Outlaws, and that was always dangerous. Sorry.
His hand slipped under the table, and he brushed her knee softly. A slight smile spread over his face as the woman introduced herself, and then waited for Tweak to say something before giving his own name.
"See'r."
-
"Tweak," the youth replied, grinning. "It's a nickname that stuck." Shrugging, she turned back to her food. "You two from around here?" Tweak smiled again, nudging Cyril's side with her elbow as she scooted closer to him. "Cyril and I are from the North. Far north. It's my first time in Pay'Tions."
See'r extended his hand toward Tweak as well, shaking it as he introduced himself. The one-eyed girl merely smiled, saying hello. Her attention drifted back to Alchemy, and she tilted her head a bit as she waited for a response.
-
Aesh merely smiled, taking his wing again. "I'll try to be gentle," she whispered, slipping a container out of her pocket. Dipping it into the water bowl at her feet, she poured it swiftly over Jake's wing before untopping the container and scooping out a blob of salve out. "It won't sting, but try not to jerk away." Slowly spreading it over the areas she could, Aesh did as best she could not to hurt the dragon.

She was finished applying the salve a few minutes later, and she went to wash her bloody, sticky hands in the water bowl when she was done. "All finished," she said, glancing up at Jake's scaled face. "I'm sorry it hurt, dear." With a start, the woman backed away, glancing to the wing once again. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" Moving to grab the piece of wood she was going to use as a splint, she stood near his wing and reached up to touch it. "Are you ready for this, Jake?" Her brown eyes moved to his gaze, and the young woman smiled a bit. Aesh wasn't trying to hurt him, just as he'd thought, but she would make sure to get the job done before anyone came into the barn and saw that there was a dragon in there. "We need to get you back into human form so no one sees you as a dragon. Da Vinci would be most displeased to find us dragons."

Her brown eyes moved to the overhead lofts. "Perhaps you should stay up there, out of sight, until we can be sure that Da Vinci will appreciate having you here."
The woman then moved toward his wing, gently pulling it to her and beginning to wrap part of it with the long bandages that she'd brought with her. "This won't be comfortable for a while, but it won't hurt you as badly."

Almost stumbling when Jake nuzzled her, the young woman laughed and leaned against his head. She leaned over just enough to plant a kiss between his shining eyes before returning to her task. "I think I will leave out that you're a dragon. He's not very . . . good with our kind." Aesh tied off the last of the bandage, smiling a bit. "How does it feel? Alright, I hope?" Alchemy wasn't all that shocked that See'r was leaving the bulk of the conversation to her. She was by far a much more talkative person then he was. Besides Tweak looked to be about her age. Now she had already said that she had never eaten anything like the sweet bread she had already finished, that met they still had to be from some small town that they could get away with not knowing much about out side foods and such things. The blond wasn't very fond of lying to others, not only did it make her feel guilty but it was also hard to keep track of." We are just visiting, we live in a small village not to far from here."
Not a complete lie, their village was small. She would just have to hope she didn't ask why they were here.' oh because we are really Outlaws and we are traveling across the sea to meet up with another group to trade supplies and help with rescuing dragons and such.' something told her that that wouldn't work as an answer.

After a few moments of silence, the navy-haired girl tilted her head, fingering the edge of her hat again. "Are you two friends?" she asked, sounding more curious than she really was. Actually, she was having quite the time speaking with these two strangers. They were rather . . . different. Unusual, really.

Why did that question have to bring up all the odd emotions from last night. They were friends, best friends really, and they had been since they were young. She had never really been sure what had made her decided to fallow the small silver haired boy around but she was glade that her younger self had. " yeah, we've been best friend since we were little." Even though he couldn't see it she threw an affection smile in See'r's direction. She playfully kicked him under the table, her way of letting him know she cared. " what about you two, are you guys friends also?" This was the easy part, ish, if they jsut stayed away from anything that had to do with where they were from or why they where here she could see them having a good time with Tweak and Cyril for the rest of the carnival.
