"I don't think I can fall asleep a third time. I'm not that lucky," he said to her and smiled, revealing his fangs. He never did well with sleep and was constantly haunted by nightmares. He avoided the last two times he had fallen asleep that night, but didn't feel like trying his luck a third. Besides, what little he rested would certainly suffice. "Don't worry, I'm fine," he reassured her and gave a stretch.

"Well,if you want to try to sleep I'm sure my beds big enough for you to lay down too."She said,laying back on her pillow."So why'd you start watching me?I was just a boring 12 year old.."She said quietly,wondering what drew him to her.

Pure blushed and chuckled when she offered him to sleep, technically, with her. But that's why he liked her, she was innocent. "You're different, pure, and naive. Someone such as you doesn't deserve to lead such a terrible life," he told her. He remembered her offer and shook his head. "Really, I'm fine and I know you wouldn't find it awkward, but I would."

She sighed."I would leave this place since I'm old enough..but I can't leave Alexander here.."She said with a small frown and then nodded at what he had said."So what time are you originally from?"She asked,he was to sweet to be from any time close to hers.

Her question stumped him for a moment. "Do you mean when my life as a human began? Well my human life began in the early 1930s and my vampire life began in the late 1940s and I've been 'alive' ever since. You are very noble to stay with your brother. I can't see many others doing that; taking the job of being a mother since the appointed one can't do it herself. You have integrity, which is another thing I like about you."

"So..whats the story of how you got bitten?"She asked,looking up at him.She knew she shouldn't ask many questions but she was curious."Well,my mother stopped being a mother when my father died a year after Alexander was born..and since I was fourteen I just kinda took responsibility."She said,memories going threw her thoughts.

"My sire was an idiot. He drank my blood in public and I obviously fought back and I won somehow. I was stupid enough not to get the wound checked out and paid for it with my human life three days later. I've been like this ever since." The longer he stayed in her company, the more he desired to lay down with her and he eventually did. He laid on his side and looked into her eyes. "I'm sorry about your father," he said simply.

"How bad did it hurt?"She grinned since she was asking to much."It's fine..he had been sick for awhile and his heart just finally gave out."She said,looking into his eyes.

"It felt like an ice age was occurring inside of your body and it remained as intense no matter how hard you tried to get warm. The feeling went on for months, even after the transformation was complete. I still get a little cold from time to time." Just as he said it, a cold flash occurred and he, without thinking, grabbed Katie and clung tightly to her. He knew it wouldn't help him get warmer, but his subconscious believed it would.

She put her arm on his shoulder,giving him a hug."Are you okay?"She asked,looking up at him..he seemed cold.She put the cover over him."Maybe you should try to sleep.."She said with a small yawn.

Pure nodded slowly and the cold flash subsided. "Speak of the devil," he murmured and closed his eyes. He would give a third try at sleeping, but the possibility of waking up from a nightmare still gnawed at him. He took in a deep breath, let it out, and stopped breathing. It helped him relax more. He let his hand rest on top of hers before slipping into slumber.

Katie layed her head on the pillow,the chill of his hand keeping her col enough to sleep well.She had fallen asleep a little later then he did and started dreaming of her childhood,full of strange happenings and tradgedies..but then she was thinking about how Pures life would have been like as a child.

Pure's dream were not as calm and reminiscent as Katie's. He dreamed of what many humans would think of as religious prophecies or revelations. Many of the images were symbolic, quirky, and disturbing. Although many would wake with terror in their eyes, he slept soundly which was probably because he was with a friend.

Katie woke up feeling the bright light come threw her blinds and laid there with her eyes open,staring at the ceiling out of boredom.She wanted Pure to get as much sleep as he needed so she wasn't moving.

It was only about ten minutes later when Pure woke up to find his arm across her abdomen. He sighed, "Sorry," and quickly pulled it back. He pushed himself up and off of the mattress and cringed when the sun beamed into his eyes. "Ow," he hissed and moved into a shadow. He wasn't burned like in the silly stories, but the fast change in light, blinded him for a second.

"It's fine."She said and sat up,giving him a small smile before walking over and shutting the blinds so no light came in."That feels way better.."She said lightly and looked at him."So,whats your agenda today?"She asked,sitting back on the bed.

"I don't think I have an agenda exactl-..." Pure was cut off by a stinging sensation in his temples and his eyes glimmered red. "I think I should go, unless you find enjoyment in getting your throat bit," he said and felt his willpower failing. His thirst for blood was beginning to affect him, but he could sense it well before it actually struck, which wasn't exactly pretty. He wondered what she tasted like and the scent of her flesh swept over him for a moment...

"Will it..turn me into a vampire?"She asked in a hurried tone."If you have to leave I suggest going out the window or something so Alexander doesn't see you.."She said and rubbed her eyes to look at him."I hope to see you soon.."

"If I wanted to turn you, it would," he answered quickly before leaping out of the window and somersaulting once he hit the pavement to soften the fall. He needed to find someone to feed from and he began to wonder why he didn't ask Katie. After all, it wouldn't change her or even hurt her as long as she relaxed, but it was too late now and he teleported into the city in search of a proper victim. One who was intoxicated or someone he could knock out. He didn't want anyone screaming while he fed.

Katie sighed and laid on her bed,alone again.She wondered what it felt like..to have the blood sucked out of her..if it wouldn't effect her she would let him take her blood,he proved to be an amazing man and that was all she needed to know.She felt her neck,puzzled by how she herself would feel.Next time he needed blood..she would ask him to bite her.

Pure, in his hasty search for blood, found a sleeping dog in an alleyway. Feeding off of a stray dog had hardly any dignity to it, but it was better than getting caught. Though, knowing the people in this town, he could say he was a vampire and even turn someone and they would still deny what he was. The animal had no idea that he was there at all, from the bite to finishing and leaving it. He only took a little since it was small and he didn't want to kill it. The little snack would hold him over for a few hours, which would be when he would ask Katie if he could do the same to her.

Katie sat up hearing her door open and saw Alexander come in."Who were you talking to?"He asked,sitting on her lap.
"A friend.."She said smileing a little.
"Can I meet him!?"Alexander asked,his eyes were a little wide from excitement.
"I don't know.."She said quietly.

Pure made his way back to Katie's, cringing along the way at the aftertaste of the dog blood. It was terrible and he could taste the rabie's taint in it. He might have actually pulled someone and bit them out in the open if he knew how bad it was going to taste. "That was probably how the vampire that bit me felt," he said and chuckled to himself.

When he finally reached her house, he could already feel the thirst coming back, he was anxious to find out how she would taste, but it would have to wait. He sensed the presence of the same person who interrupted them last night on her doorstep. He sat down gently on her roof and would wait for the presence to leave. He didn't know if it was her mother or not and he didn't want to get her into trouble.
