Dorian smiled. "So you can tell me who is after me, can't you?" He saw the look on her face as she noticed Gwen. "Don't mind her, she's on your side now." He turned to Gwen and smiled at her too; he was a bit naive to be so happy at a moment like this, but he was starting to actually feel important. "Right, Gwen?"

Pure looked at her and an idea popped into his head. "I don't know how attached you are to your mother, but I have an apartment that I haven't used in awhile. Your welcome to move their with Alex. I also have a job and maybe I can help you raise him." The idea sounded very odd and it was. Offering to raise a child, sibling or not, was certainly different.

She stared at him for a moment."Thats very nice of you to offer..but I wouldn't want to impose..I mean..raising a kid is a lot of work.I have to pay for his school fees and everything."She said with a small frown."I've been to court before to get custody of Alex but I have to get him signed over to me by my mother and she refuses."She said and looked up at him."I don't want to force anything on you,I'm fine living here."She said,the offer was great but..what would happen if work couldn't pay for Alex?

"Katie, I'm an assistant CEO for a computer and electronics company. I sorry to prolong the subject, but don't you think that that job along with yours still wouldn't pay for him?" Pure didn't want her to go against her feelings and would never force her, but he also didn't want to leave her to live in this house as she was now. It was confining and not how life was meant to be lived.

She nodded a little."I'd love too but..I'd feel like i'd be forcing you into it."She said,amazed that he had such a great job.

Pure could sense that wasn't the reason. "I know that you want to stay with your mother. It's nice to know that you still love her and are attached to her even after what she has done. It's not forcing anything on to me since it's an offer that I brought up. I just wanted you to know that if you wanted to leave this place and maybe have a better environment to bring Alex up in, that you could."

"You'd be okay with a five year old living with you?"She asked,of course she would miss her mother but her mother would not miss her."I'd have to get her to sign the papers..that would never happen."She said,pulling the law papers out from under her bed and looking at them.She knew her brother deserved better then this life.

"I'll get that drunk bitch to sign," he said and gently took the papers from her. It might have been the first time in years that he lost his temper, but it soon recovered. Pure walked downstairs and waited for Katie to follow. He would let her ask first, but would then intervene if she refused to sign.

Katie walked down the steep steps quickly and came out at the bottom,seeing Pure and then her mother laying on the couch."Mother,I need you to sign these papers."She said and placed them on the coffee table.
Her mother sat up and looked at the papers."I told you I'm not going to lose the last thing I have from your father."She said in her scratchy smokers voice.
"You already lost him,I want him to have a better life then you've given me."She said,pressing a pen on the table.
Her mother sat and did nothing.

Pure felt that intimidation was what it had come to. He walked over to her and grabbed her by throat and glared at her into her eyes, glazed with intoxication. "Look, I doubt you really care that they are the last thing left to remind you of your husband, which was the only person who actually did anything to raise the children while you sat on your fat arse drinking alcohol like a fish. You only steal from Katie to get more booze and leave her to do the job you're meant to do. I give them an offer at a better life and you refuse it?! You will sign or God help me you'll pay."

Katie's Mother cringed in fear and got out of his grip,writing her name in cursive on the paper."Take him.."She croaked and handed Pure the paper."Just get out."

Katie smiled a little,knowing it was an odd time to smile but now her brother would have a good life."Thank you."She said and turned,going up the steps.She would have to pack Alexanders things then go and get him before packing her own,she waited at the top of the stairs for Pure to come.

Pure's smile returned and he followed her up the stairs. "I hope your brother won't mind leaving her very much. I know it's a bad life to live, but I'd feel terrible taking a kid away from someone he loved. Even if it's for a good reason," he said and stared at here waiting and taking in that he would be having the love of his life living with him already. Granted, it wasn't for the reason he expected, but still...

"Alexander hates her..she smacks him around a lot so he doesn't care for her."She said,entering his room full of rocekt ships and things."So hows this going to work?Do you want us to come today?"She asked,she still felt like she was rushing Pure by actually letting him help her take resonsibility for a child.

"I will probably rent a small moving truck and you two can pack your belongings. It's not far away, but it's long enough that you don't want to be taking five trips back and forth." Pure stared at the sky from the bedroom window and noticed some dark gray clouds approaching. "I better get to it," he said and ran out of the house to closest vehicle renting shop.

Katie went next dor and got Alexander,walking with him to his room.He started helping her by grabbing his books and little items and putting it into a bag.
"Good Alexander,now will you fold up your blankets and stuff while I get my things?"She asked lightly,putting his pillows in his big black bag,in all it was taller then Katie.
He nodded and watched her leave.
When Katie got upstairs she grabbed all the tiny things and put them in her bag,she didn;t really have much since she had a poor family so in about ten minutes she already had everything but her furniture packed.She took her bag downstairs and into Alexanders room and started to help him finish packing and told him about where they were going,and told him about Pure.

It took Pure about ten minutes to arrive and backup into the driveway. He gave a small beep on the horn to let them know he was there and he got out to open the door of the storage area. He then decided to go inside and help them pack, but to his surprise, they had already finished, so he carried there luggage and set it down gently in the large trunk.

Alexander didn't say much to Pure just because well..he usually never said anything to anyone.But he took Katies hand and followed Pure to the truck.

Katie smiled."Thank you."

Maria waited For Gwen to reply, but she stud quite. Maria already had a troublesome night and didn't have time for waiting all day. So she finally interjected and said. " How have you been Dorian?"

Pure nodded and smiled at Alexander. He could already read his personality and could tell that he has a kind heart just like his older sister. He stepped into the truck and turned on the engine, which responded with the activation of the stereo system. The radio played a song that had a fair amount of slide guitar. It would have fit the trucking feel if it was over a longer distance.

Alexander sat in Katies lap since he didn't want to be alone and looked out the window.

Katie smiled and looked at Pure."I have to repay you back for this somehow..what your doing is wonderful."

Dorian shrugged, "I thought my life was a lot less complicated an hour ago, I suppose I was fine then. Now though, I'm very confused." He wasn't really sure what to say next so he followed with the obvious. "Uhh... How have you been, Maria?" He stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face as he awaited the information he had come for.

Pure looked at her and Alexander and returned the grin. "I would feel terrible to simply leave you there with that wench. You leaving might actually get her moving and make her get her own job. You must be the one who opened the front door last night," he said and focused on Alex. "I find it hard to believe your mother was the one who opened the door.

He nodded a little and looked at him."I heard Katie so I went outside.."He said,looking at Pure and then down at his fingers,he was distracted easily.

Katie was now looking out the window and brushing Alexanders hair with her hand.

Maria chuckled at Dorian's dumbfounded expression, showing her two long teeth and said to him in a clam voice, " Well, look at you. Mmm your just too cute. Um anyway," She lend against the wall," First, i want to know what Gwen has told you. " She knew somewhat of what he was going to say but she just wanted to know any how.

Dorian tried to think for a moment to make sure he knew exactly what Gwen had told him. All he could remember is that at first she didn't trust Maria, but afterwards she said something about her protecting him. "All she has told me is that you saved my life..." He stared at Maria, wondering why he was in peril in the first place. He couldn't possibly be that important... maybe he was just a helpless victim? Maybe this whole time he had been a powerful vampire with abilities he didn't know how to control. But that's way too strange to be true, isn't it? He couldn't decide what to think and it made him all the more impatient.
