so i wanted to start a discussion about what love is to you.
for me:
love is not a thing that can be defined by words or pictures. love is something that is so complicated, so complex that you can’t narrow it down to one meaning within a few sentances. [but goddamn, i’m gonna try!]
i believe that there are many different kinds of love. there isn’t just love of family and love of somebody, but whatever love you are talking about, i see it like this:
i belive that love is based on inadequacies. i believe that it is the imperfections in people that makes them so perfectly suited for eachother. love is never based solely one thing, it isn’t based on looks. it isn’t based on personality. it’s not even based on breast size. [i know, shocker, right?!] love is based on the fact that you can’t even begin to fathom how meaningless your life would be without that other person, how you would rather fight with them all day long than fuck with anybody else, how even if all physical contact was eliminated, you still couldn’t get enough of them. love is the kind of drugs that teenagers binge on and artists long for. love is that feeling in the pit of your stomach that even though you’re scared out of your mind, everything is gonna be alright because you know you’re not in any real danger. love is that kind of hot-cold, sufficating,-hyperventilating, best-gift-ever, worst-headache-ever, pop song that you hate to admit that you want to hear and pretend to not hear it when it’s played everywhere around you. love is waking up thinking of that person and going to sleep with their name on you lips. love is fucked up. don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful thing, but then again so is an exclusive hollywood party.
love can’t be everywhere all at the same time, lets be honest, it’s not a good multi-tasker. some people go through their entire lives without finding love. love is not only a feeling, it’s an ability as well. some people are better at it than others. you have to be open to it before it can "sweep you off your feet."
love is one of the main motivations in life. love, greed, and jealousy. those are the main three. [think about it, is there anything you do that isn’t ultimately fueld by one or more of the three?] love is why you breathe, love is why you brush your teeth, love is why you get out of bed everyday, love is why you poke bruises. [seriously, it’s totally "love training" scaled down! it hurts but you can’t stop doing it! you can’t, can you?]
love is a natual freedom that you find when you’re tangled up in somebody else. love is knowing that you are at your best with that person, because they make you feel like being your best. love is not confined by gender. love is the way that every pore of your being screams out for you to be with that person. love is compassion. love is passion. love is accidental. love is presice. love is every single contradiction in the book.
most of all, love is just love.
