Kiwi grinned and petted her hair a bit more.

"Of course I don't mind. I'd be happy if you joined me." With that, he plopped down in bed, sighing.

Smiling, the mermaiden plopped down beside him, smiling at the shirt she wore. It smelled like human, Kiwi to be specific. Curling up beside the blonde, Meriel watched him, eyes half closed in relaxation.

Kiwi seemed relaxed, but tired from all the commotion that occurred today. It didn't take long for him to fall asleep...

Curling up beside Kiwi, Meriel rested her head gently on his shoulder, closing her eyes as she soon drifted off.

Kiwi didn't wake up until the morning. His alarm clock, which had been pre-set, scared him awake again, and he sat up slowly, yawning.

Curled up beside the young blonde, Meriel smiled in her sleep, arms wrapped around Kiwi's waist.

Kiwi stretched a bit, lazily.

As he did so, a wonderful idea came to him.

He leaned over Meriel, gently shaking her awake. "Meriel. Meriel. Sorry for waking you up, but I have a good idea, since you don't like being alone in here..."

With a catlike yawn, the young woman blinked slowly and looked up at Kiwi. "Idea? Meriel wants to hear." she murmured softly, snuggling closer to Kiwi, her human.

Kiwi stroked her hair, in a gentle and comforting way. "Well...I was thinking I could bring you up to the dining hall and see if I could get you a job, working alongside me for the day."

Meriel smiled, practically glowing with delight. "Meriel would like that! Meriel will behave and be very careful for Kiwi." she exclaimed, hugging Kiwi.

Kiwi grinned, hugging her back. "Remember...you have to tell the boss that you are from Russia and do not speak a lot of English. That way, he will help you find a job that doesn't require you to do a lot of talking. Okay?"

Suddenly, he remembered Gavin...and he was pretty sure he hadn't spent the night in his own room. He hoped he got up in time for work--he didn't know where Deckle's room was.

Said best friend was snoozing quite comfortably, holding the very attractive Deckle to him as he nuzzled close. Gavin surprisingly didn't drool or snore during his rest, simply sprawled out. Unknown to him, (and Deckle for the moment) his head had migrated from her shoulder to her chest.

Meriel nodded, smiling at Kiwi brightly. "Ok! Meriel will say she's from..R-Russia, and doesn't speak much English." Pausing, she looked nervous for a second. "Will Kiwi's boss be angry with Kiwi or Meriel? Will boss be mean?"

Luckily for Gavin, Deckle also had to get up to work...and her alarm clock was pre-set. It rang loudly, startling her awake. "Uh..." She glanced down at Gavin and grinned, waiting for him to wake up and realize where his head was...

"Erm..." Kiwi scratched his head. "He, uh...isn't too fond of me. Doesn't like me all that much. But he should be courteous to you."

Gavin snuggled closer, ever the heavy sleeper. "Mmmm..mommy...I don't wanna eat my spinach...I don't wanna be popeye...I jus wanna have cotton candy...." he mumbled in his unconscious state, smiling stupidlyas he rubbed his head against her warm body.

Meriel looked confused. "Why would boss not like Kiwi, Kiwi is nice and fun, and good looking, and patient, and smart." she chimed, blinking up at him innoccently.

Deckle chuckled, shaking him awake. "Hey. The time. I suggest you look at it."

Kiwi chewed his lip. "Uh...heh, well...let's just say I did something to make him unhappy once, by accident. And he's never cared for me ever since."

Groggily, the brown-haired male blinked and looked over at the alarm clock. He stared for a good 5 seconds before realization and recognition showed in his eyes. "What the hell?!?!?! Awww dammit not again!!!" Gavin cried out in alarm, flailing about only to stop. He realized what his head was on...and it wasn't a pillow....

Meriel blinked, not quite understanding what he did, but giggling a bit. "Ok. But Meriel will be unhappy if boss is mean to Kiwi."

Deckle grinned even more, not seeming to mind the...intrusion, of sorts...at all. The flailing seemed to amuse her even more.

Kiwi nodded, standing up. "Urgh...I'd better take a shower...do you want to take a shower after me?" He paused, and then attempted to explain why humans showered. He figured she knew what a shower was, from her lessons, but not what it was used for, for the most part.

Gavin rubbed the back of his head, chuckling sheepishly. "Hehe...erm....pardon me my lady for being so bold but...you are very comfy to lay on...and a great sight to wake up to."

Smiling, Meriel nodded. "Ok, Meriel will take shower after Kiwi."

Deckle grinned. "Thank you for the compliment, hun. You'd better hurry on to work."

Kiwi nodded before heading into the bathroom to shower, closing the door behind him.

"B-but I dun wanna!" whined a pouting Gavin, reluctantly getting ready to head for his room so he could shower and get dressed.

Meriel smiled, listening to the water run as Kiwi showered. She paced in front of his bathroom door, humming softly.

Deckle chuckled, watching him. "I've got to get to work, soon, anyway, too. So you're not missing anything."

After a good fifteen minutes, Kiwi stepped out of the bathroom, looking relaxed. "Here." He handed her a few clean towels--he'd saved three for her out of the five in there. "Dry with these when you're done. I'll wait for you out here, okay?"

"Well ok...." Gavin took her by the chin, looking into Deckle's eyes before he brought her close for a tender kiss. Breaking awaay slowly, the smiling male tucked a strand of her hair behind one ear, waving as he finally left her room.

Meriel nodded, smiling at Kiwi as he exited. Waling inside, she stared at the knobs, unsiure what to do with them. She had no idea how to get the water to come out. First, she toyed with the drain. No help. Next, she tried standing in various positions. "kiiiiii..." she grumbled.

Deckle didn't protest. Instead, she grinned and started getting ready for work herself.

Kiwi peeked his head in hesitantly. "Are you having trouble...? The red knob is for warm water--tilt the knobs to the left to get water to come out. Not too much, though...or the water will be very hot and might hurt you. The blue knob is for cool water. But, again, don't tilt it too far, or you'll get very cold water."

Gavin rushed back to his room, skidding to a halt inside the shower before getting undressed and turning on the water.

Meriel smiled sheepishly, listening carefully and following his gestures and eyes. "Ok, Meriel thinks she understands now." she chimed, reaching for the warm one and the cold one at the same time, turning both 1/3 of the way. "Thank you Kiwi! Kiwi makes it fun!"

Deckle didn't have to do much to get ready for work. She would be getting filthy down there anyway, so there wasn't a point to showering until her shift ended. So, she just put on a fresh pair of old clothes.

She didn't forget about delivering the underwear, though. She gathered it up once she was ready and headed for Kiwi's room. leaving them outside.

Kiwi grinned, patting her arm a bit. "If you need more help, just tell me," he offered kindly, leaving her to her showering.

When he walked out of the bathroom, he heard shuffling at the door. When he opened it, he stared at the small pile of women's undergarments laying there, remembering that Deckle had promised to give some of hers up. Sighing, he scooped them up and put them in a spare drawer in his dresser. He pulled out a simple new work outfit for her and set it on the dresser, waiting for her to finish.
