Chronos Mephistopheles and Shadami
Setting: A world where islands are in the air, and mist surrounds the area below where no ship can fly because of the low altitude. This is a world where everyone travels by ships, ships that fly. And where there are ships there are pirates.
Plot: When you are a pirate, your big concern is your crew, and making as much money and loot as possible, you want to go for the biggest scheme you can. That big thing tends to be 'kidnap the princess' and that's what many crews do, but only one gets the chance to and succeeds.
My Character: the princess/ maid Names: Kiyomi/ Kinsey

my character
Name : Giotto
Age : 23
Profession : Captain of the Pirateship Nereid
Weapon Proficiency : Fairly good shot with pistols, but prefers the close contact a sword gives him
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Out of all the pirateships on the skies, Captain Giotto of the Nereid would be the least likely to cause war. He and his crew would sail over clouds almost beautifically, only attacking other ships when supplies for the crew's survival was needed. Unfortunately this could not remain so. Even such a young captain as he, knew that one had to cause some sort of great happening in the realm if he wanted to be remembered (the crew's needs had nothing to do with his decision, at all). And by Davie Jones Giotto wanted to be remembered. He had to make his mark.
That was when Giotto completely ignored his quartermaster's suggestion of pillaging a nearby town (small, probability of military activity was slim) and jumped straight for the ultimate goal. Giotto wanted to kidnap a princess. The riches that came with such a successful excursion were just a bonus. It was a wonderful plan, it would cover all things needed to make everyone happy!
The crew pillages the capital, gathering all the necessities for a nice long stay on the skies, while the captain and a few select men sneak into the castle and kidnap Her Highness. More than likely she'd be defenseless, they tie her up, bring her back to the ship (ignoring all superstition of women being bad luck) and hold her for ransom. The plan didn't get much easier than that.
Giotto stood on the bow, rubbing his hands together eagerly. The whole crew was on edge; they were just out of sight of the capital and were waiting for the cover of night. Once then, the mission was go. Giotto's navy eyes met those of his quartermaster and he gave a quick thumbs up. The quartermaster rolled his eyes and began yelling at the crew, preparing them for the siege.
Giotto walked back towards the foremast, easily evading the running around skypirates before leaning against the mast and crossing his arms. Now all he had to do was wait.
The worst part.

Princess Kiyomi brushed her hair in front of her mirror while her maid looked on holding a towel trying to convince her to take a shower.
"Oh Kinsey, I know you think I should be all be a good princess but I have a really good feeling about tonight!" She stood up and gave a little spin of happiness before hugging her personal maid. "I want to go see the town, I'm tired of staying in the castle." She laughed grabbing the towel and running out of reach of her maid the towel on her head like a shawl. "Don't I look good and civilianesque." She laughed as kinsey tried to reach and she leapt gracefully onto the bed, keeping just out of reach.
Kinsey sighed shaking her head though there was a smile on her face. "Ms. Kiyomi, you must behave. You will get me in trouble!" Kiyomi stuck her tongue out throwing the towel into her maids arms.
"Oh don't worry. I'll be perfectly fine. I'll go down, I'll look around and I'll come right back." She walked over and held the towel over her maids head. "And you can cover for me. Don't all girls dream to be princesses, well tonight is your night Kinsey. Trust me, it'll be terrific." Kinsey's smile had grown wider and she shook her head.
"Yes mistress. Of course. " Soon they had Kinsey in one of Kiyomi's dresses and she the princess had changed into an outfit she had made herself. The maid looked at it in shock, "Ms. Kiyomi! That is not civilian every day clothes, especially not for the night."
"Oh hush, Kinsey. It'll be fine, its summer. It's warm out, we have a beach area on our island remember." Than with a very dramatic voice she gave a bow and said, "The wonderful Kingdom of Solair!"
(looks great to be honest. =] and I hope you don't mind, but I can't always get super long posts =/ I try though. )

{{Perfectly fine with out the super long posts. I just tend to do them mostly when the thread just begins, because there's so much going on}}
As the last vestiges of light left the sky, Giotto gave the sounding cry, "Onwards! Let's go capture ourselves a Princess!" Some of his pirates managed a cheer, the others not bothering in encouraging his behavior. Some even wondered why they made Giotto captain in the first place but thoughts of mutiny never passed through their heads.
The Nereid, beautiful slightly new ship that she was, easily glided into the bay. Soundlessly the anchor was dropped; arming themselves with weapons (only for protection from any military mutts) the crew alongside the quartermaster made their way carefully into the fortress capital. Giotto and his two trusted shipmates, Claud and Moroth, waited for their sight to clear. With a nod the trio darted through the town, sidestepping skypirates and civilians alike (chaos was beginning to stir in the town, not much longer before the guard would interfere) as they climbed staircases and scaled walls to make their way to the castle.

Kiyomi danced around her maid with excited little spins. "I'm so excited about this Kinsey! What kind of fun things do you think they have down in the village?" Meanwhile she was shaking her hair out to make it look messy and she swung out onto the balcony letting the wind blow through it to make it even more messy. It was a thrill to her not to be constrained to being perfect. Her maid Kinsey followed closely, neither of which noticed the chaos breaking out in the town.
"Ooooo." Kiyomi said with sudden mischievous tone. "You should try on my makeup and put up your hair too! We look so much alike naturally, they will never notice the difference if we do that!" She rushed her maid back inside.
Kinsey finally let out a laugh letting the princesses comfortable attitude with her rubbing off as they began to act like excited normal teenage girls playing dress up instead of the maid and royalty that they actually were. "You are such an immature princess Kiyomi." Kinsey laughed as she was sat down at the vanity table.
"Oh i know, but you have to be to have fun here." Her smiling face was so filled with fun that Kinsey couldn't refuse. "Okay, so we need to somehow make it so that you don't have brown eyes. Or make them look not as dark?" It was the only downfall in their plan, the princesses eyes were blue. "Here, look through my makeup I'll brush your hair out."

Giotto felt a scowl make its away across his face, spotting the lack of guards preventing entry to the castle. Any other pirate would be pleased, but Giotto liked to challenge himself. He couldn't improve if he didn't have a challenge at all. Glancing at Claud and Moroth, he gave a faint hand gesture and they moved in. With stealth of many years training, Claud knocked one guard unconscious while Moroth gagged and tied the other.
The three darted inside the gate; Giotto entered the castle and began searching for the princesses quarters while Claud and Moroth continued to find and inhibit the guards. One proceeded to lock the doors to the Royal Court, just to be sure there would be no one inside that could interfere with the Pirates plans.

Kiyomi looked up from her hair brushing with a curious expression on her face, Kinsey not noticing because she was digging through the princess's makeup for a color she knew would lighten her eyes. "Did you hear that?" She said curiously moving away from the vanity table and the maid. "I could of sworn that..." She shook her head moving further towards the door, just one peak out the door wouldn't hurt.
She would be completely wrong.

Giotto searched the rooms frantically. He could already hear the sounds of fighting making their way down the halls. It would only make things that much more difficult if the princess decided to fight back. Though, Giotto paused in the hallway pondering, if he managed to escape with the princess while an epic battle raged, that could be much more beneficial to his reputation...
His eyes caught the glance of someone peeking out of the room. The door was only slightly open, so whomever glancing out hadn't spotted him yet. Light on his feet, Giotto got to the door and threw it open. No point in trying to make this... not interesting. "Princess! I come for thee!" Okay, that actually sounded quite stupid. Maybe he should think before he speaks. Two girls were in the room, now which was really the princess? The one wearing the dress? But why didn't she give off that vibe?

Kiyomi jumped out of the way her mouth open in shock. A kidnapper? Really? Her eyes widened, thrilled, oh what a wonderful night this was turning out to be. She and Kinsey exchanged quick glances and than Kiyomi ran to her squeaking, "Princess hide!"
The maid stood dropping the makeup case, she was far more sensible than Kiyomi. She knew that this was real and that in the end they would probably not escape. The princess was taking it as a game. Maybe she should have let her be more adventurous before. She wouldn't find a thrill in danger than. Kiyomi stood in front of Kinsey and put her arms out like she was commanding Giotto to stop. "You can't have the princess, the guards will here you and come running." She declared.

Giotto raised an eyebrow. So he was right! They were playing dress up, trying the old swap places idea. Faintly he frowned, he didn't see much of a resemblance, how was this supposed to work anyway. He caught the sounds of fighting looming closer. This was taking much too long! "Listen up, I mean her no harm. I just want to..." he fumbled with the words for a bit. He hated not being able to slip into pirate speak, it was much easier to say but harder to understand. "I need to kidnap her, just for a little bit."
He stepped closer, making sure his sword was still sheathed at his side. He could heard Claud calling for him. Things weren't exactly going according to plan. Shaking his head, he put away his gentleman routine and quickly grabbed ahold of the maid, moving her out of his way as he grabbed the princess's arm. "If you cooperate, I won't have to hurt you."

(he grabbed the "princess's" arm right? )
Kiyomi squeaked, he was much tougher than he looked. "Just don't hurt her!" She watched her maid's eyes, she herself was still struggling slightly. Than Kinsey the actual maid piped up.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine Kiyo. If he will not harm me if I cooperate than that's all we can do. Stop fighting to defend me, the guards are fighting their way here right now. I can hear them. They will notice that I'm gone and come to rescue me."
Kiyomi's jaw dropped as she watched her maid. Kinsey can actually have a little fun? Who knew! She nodded, "Yes miss." She bowed her head in defeat and stopped struggling so hard against Giotto trying to get him to drop her maid. The princess thought guiltily of the weapons that she had hidden in her room. Those would have been helpful right now... even if she didn't know how to use them properly.

{{It was supposed to be he grabbed the real princess's arm, Kiyomi's, but I can make this work too xD }}
"How about this," Giotto began. He grabbed a brush from the nearby vanity and chucked it at the door. The door slammed shut. Hopefully the guards hadn't heard the clatter. "Which one of you is the real princess? I won't be successful unless I have her." His scowl deepened when Claud and Moroth entered the room, beginning to pile items against the door. Guards banged on the door, ramming at it trying to get inside.
Moroth glanced back at his captain quickly. "Captain, just grab the princess. If we want to get out of here alive we need to do it now!" Claud piled the last piece of movable furniture in front of the door, the guards barely able to jar the items away.
"She's the maid looking one, Capt." Claud murmured, barely heard over all the noise. "I remember from when I worked in the palace a few years back." Taking Claud's word for it, Giotto grabbed the real princess and began dragging her to the balcony. It was now their only exit. "Remember, you cooperate, I won't hurt you."

"How did..." Kiyomi fell silent as she was half dragged, half stumbling towards the balcony. Brilliantly she called out, "Treasure chest kinsey, go!" After all, she figured her maid would be fine now, she wasn't being held. Her eyes turned to Claud as they reached the balcony, he was the one who had been able to tell. She didn't recognize him, who was he. "Where'd you work?"
Yeah, brilliant move yet again. The princess was being kidnapped and her curiosity was overpowering her terror. Kinsey meanwhile had looked at her mistress in confusion, the treasure chest?
Finally it dawned on her, and her slow reaction may have been her downfall. She lifted the skirt and ran for the bathroom.
(I wasn't sure so I just went with one. XD )

Giotto groaned as he heard the maid rush into the private bathroom. Something was obviously important that the Princess wished for, but would it be beneficial or detrimental to his plans? With a scowl the pirate decided detrimental and lead the princess onto the balcony. "Moroth, Claud," he called to the pirates, both of them the epitome of what a captain asked for, "Follow the maid; if the item she is obtaining can be of assistance, take it. If not, destroy it."
He quickly found the small pathway carved into the side of the castle that led to a cliff-face that was only a couple feet away from the docks. Using it, it wouldn't take long at all to get upon the Nereid. "Come princess, we don't have much longer." He took in her outfit. It was a clue she wanted to escape the word of aristocracy for a period of time. "You work with me, and I'll help you." He grinned, hopping over the banister(?) and holding a hand out to her. She could either flee or come with; either way it'd make the upcoming day/month/year entertaining.

Kinsey ran into the bathroom and quickly searched it trying to remember where the switch was. Finally she noticed the treasure chest behind the toilet and she flipped it open pushing aside everything that was in it and hitting the switch there. There was a small grating noise and she spun around and jumped through the opening that appeared in the wall and took off at a run down the secret passageway.
She could hear the pirates behind her and swore under her breath. She had to get outside and get help. For the sake of the princess. Her breath came in sharp ragged breaths as she continued her run, unaccustomed to the heels she was wearing or the frilly skirt the princess had let her borrow.
Kiyomi glared at Giotto trying to keep up the act despite having been discovered."I'm not the princess! And luckily for me you're letting her escape, and I can say that my job has been complete." But she was hesitating now. Kinsey would be safe... and they did look enough alike to fool her parents. If she managed to escape than things would be better for both of them anyways. Slowly she took his hand. What am I doing?

Claud and Moroth cursed, finally catching onto the fact the maid was actually trying to alert others to her plight. Their captain was much to trusting of things he overheard. With a scowl Moroth sped up in his chase and practically tackled the girl to the floor. Claud was right behind him, beginning the process in tying her up. In theory they could take her as well, but the captain only wanted the princess, and more than one female on board would worsen their luck.
Giotto watched almost smugly as she lost herself in her thoughts. Really, could she be any more transparent? Obviously she wasn't taught how to interact with the 'common folk'. Oh well, she'd have plenty of time to get used to it aboard the Nereid. Especially if the maid went along and remained disguised as the princess for a period of time. It would delay his plans for world renown, however it would only encourage it more if he was to send out a couple of messages...
Already his mind was plotting as she took his hand and he offered her a smile. "Well then princess, follow me!" He began leading her down the narrow pathway, so happy he decided to take the castle as his entrance; how anti-climatic would it have been had he snuck in the back way. HA! He remained holding onto her hand, as the sounds of sword fights, guns going off, screams and laughter came from above. Giotto hopped onto the deck holding his arms out for the princess. Worry was beginning to creep into his demeanor. He only wanted his men to distract the guards, no deaths or harm was necessary. But what if they had been harmed? Maybe he hadn't thought this plan completely through... "Come princess, I'll catch you. This I promise!"

Kinsey tripped as she was tackled and she rolled over, "Please don't hurt me!" The disguise plan between the two really wasn't working very well. She trembled as they tied her up, "F-Father will have your heads." She winced slightly, covering it up as a wince from the ropes on her wrists, but really it was because she had lied again, and with a stutter. She was not going to live through this ordeal, and in her fear she did appear the pampered princess. Or at least... she really hoped she did.
Kiyomi on the other hand was glowering as she was led through her own castle grounds towards the ship that was stowed in wait for their quick departure with their 'treasure.' It only deepened when Giotto showed how smug he was about capturing her. "I told you, I'm not the princess, you let the real princess escape in your silly belief that I'm the princess." She rolled her eyes and was about to jump, mimicking how he'd gotten down when the heights reached her brain and she gulped. Succumbing once again to leaping directly into his arms. What a great kidnapping, she was going perfectly willingly. She screamed as she fell through the air in the few moments she was airborne and than clung to his neck her nails digging in and eyes wide.
She slowly slid out and gave a small bow trying to think what Kinsey would have done. "Sorry sir, I didn't expect to get scared there." As her head was down a glint flickered in her eyes. This is fantastic fun! And so exciting!

Moroth rolled his eyes at the girl, finishing with the knots. As Claud went ahead, he gently patted the maid dressed as a princess on the head. "Be safe," he grinned widely before following his partner back down towards the ship. The two were successful in weaving around the heavily armored guards, only managing to receive a cut on an arm or a tear in their clothes from a too-close weapon.
Giotto rolled his eyes at the girl, ignoring her horrible attempts at lying. Really, she thought her costume was all it took to be successful in something like this? Ignoring the sharp pain of her nails breaking his skin in her fear, he carried her on deck, practically dropping her onto a pile of spare rope. "Don't move." He told her as he begun yelling at the crew that remained on-board.
With his orders, the crew on-board knew to give the signal to retreat to the rest of the land-bound pirates with a cannon-shot to the nearby cliffs. The resounding 'BOOM' and flying gravel was enough to get everyone's attention in the chaos in the town. Giotto paced up and down the ship's deck, continuing to yell orders while keeping an eye on the princess.
Pirate after pirate piled on-board and with Claud and Moroth finishing it up, the Nereid began to set sail. The angle was awkward, as Giotto refused to have his ship fired upon when he couldn't return the fire if necessary. There was a reason he was so good at what he did.
Paranoia.
After a few shots of the cannon from the royal navy, the Nereid was far enough out of port for full sails to be opened and the wind to carry them away. It was at this point Giotto began conversing with his two First-Mates. Claud suggested giving the princess the Captain's room, it would offer her the comfort she would be used to while allowing them to confine her to a particular room. Moroth was against this idea, reminding the Captain of the bad luck it was to have a woman on-board; however he was the one to suggest allowing her to free roam the ship.
"If she's comfortable, she'll be returned to the kingdom in one piece."
"If she doesn't look harried, we don't look much like pirates then, do we?" Claud retorted.
It took a harsh glare from their captain for the two to quiet. "We'll give her the captain's room," Giotto sighed, hands drifting to the pistols sheathed at his hips. "If she is cooperative, we'll eventually allow her to wander." The three agreed on this plan. Only now... what in the world was her name?

Kinsey ran to the closest window and watched as fighting broke up and men trickled towards the giant pirate ship. In utter defeat she cried out as her princess, her royal charge was taken and she was left, she couldn't even protect her. Her face fell and she started to cry, letting the explosion from the cannon drop her to the ground, to emotionally warn out to even fight to stay standing. She would either have to pretend to be the princess to keep the town from going into more panic... or she would get thrown in the cellar for not having protected the princess, or pretending to be her... SHe let out a wail of despair and waited for the guards to come rushing in. They would come soon enough.
Meanwhile Kiyomi was glowering at the pirate captain for having rudely dropped her on a pile of ropes and deciding to order her around. Clearly there was no way around the truth. They knew she was the princess and they had even left her maid at home. She crossed her arms and glared at him. "Stop looking at me so I can move you cursed pirate." She practically had her nose in the air when she let out a yelp of surprise that she quickly covered with both hands. The cannons were so loud!
The surprise quickly faded to amazement as she watched the world begin to move, and the moment the Captain had his back to her and deep in conversation with two of his crew she was up out of the pile of rope and hanging on the edge of the railing leaning over it in amazement. She'd never been on one of the open air flying ships. Maybe a closed cabin ship once in awhile. But this. this was fantastic. The wind whipped at her hair and her skirt as she tried to lean over without actually falling. It was a long way down. She hopped back onto the deck and then stumbling ran up to the bow where she held onto the rope to steady herself. She had no sealegs after all. And stared out as the world that sky pilots saw all the time opened before her. 'Wow.' She mouthed in silent awe.

Giotto stretched his arms into the air, popping his neck and back with a quick jerk. His eyes followed the princess as she stumbled her way across the deck, an amused grin spreading across his lips. Despite how obvious it was that she was a sheltered princess, it was amusing to see how she took to the 'sea', not to mention how she seemed so pleased to be in the open air.
"Moroth, Claud, will you escort her to her quarters and explain what is going to happen from now on? I need to do my rounds and check on our supplies." He noted that they should have enough to last until the next time they had to make port, approximately three weeks; the perfect timing to reach Port Myrmidian. He called out the the rest of the pirates, checking on the status of the ship, and making sure all his peoples in the battle were getting treated by the one medic pirate they had.
Claud motioned for Moroth to remain behind him, used only as a last resort if necessary to forcefully move her to the Captain's Quarters. He came up behind her, clearing his throat loudly to be heard over the sound of the cries and yells of the pirates above and below deck. He hated to admit it, but they were a loud bunch. "Your Highness, the Captain has asked me to take you to your room. Would you follow me please?"

Princess Kiyomi felt no guilt in having left her maid behind, she was awe struck with the view of the towns, and even the misty horizon. It seemed so far away! She'd almost forgotten what had taken place that morning while she was entranced with the landscape when she heard someone rudely clear their throat. She turned around and put her hands on her hips glaring up at the man who had spoken. "Oh so now you're going to be polite to me?! Well that's to bad because as your princess I choose to stay out here, and I'm not going to follow you to some stinky little pirate cell just because you've kidnapped me." She glared at them and than turned back towards the view as if the matter was settled. Not to mention the little humph she added as she turned her back on them.

Claud rolled his eyes, sighing. "Well, I tried to be nice." He offered her a wide grin as Moroth picked her up from behind, her arms pinned to her sides in the particular hold he used. "I'm sure you don't like being forced to do things, so maybe next time you'll remember to go along with it, yes?" Moroth carried her passed the busy members of the crew, waiting patiently for Claud to open the door to the captain's quarters before stepping inside, gingerly placed her down (as gingerly as a man could put down a squirming princess anyway) and quickly back pedaled out of the room.
"Now princess, please don't trash the room. This'll be where you're staying while your with us." Moroth's deep voice barely made it through the thick door for her to hear. "The captain would like it returned to him in one piece."
The room was large, spacious, and filled with odd little doodads and mechanisms. On an elaborately carved table was a map of the world, with all the known air currents with a list of the fastest paths from sky island to sky island. A large vanity sat against one wall, the mirror large enough to practically take up the entire wall, while opposite of it were windows to see the outside. Another door was beside the bed (large enough that it resembled what the King might have had in his quarters), which held outfit upon outfit. One wall of the closet appears to have once been decorated with weapons, but all were currently missing.
Giotto was at the helm, leaning against the aft, as another one of his men began to go on and on about the dangers of having a female on board. However it took only a glare and a reminder that his mother was once the captain of the Nereid for the man to shut his mouth and go back to swabbing the deck. He burst into laughter at the sound of Claud and Moroth slamming the door shut and barricading it closed. He glanced at the sun's position in the sky before mentally noting that he should probably be the one to take the food to Her Highness, and that he should probably ask her name.

She did indeed kick and throw a fuss as she was picked up and carried undignified along to the Captain's quarters. "Put me down! You can not handle a princess this way!" But her cries were to no avail, and she hit the door as it closed behind Moroth and Claud. Her yells and curses back at them were inaudible through the door but when she turned around angrily her eyes actually examined the room and she took a momentary shocked pause to question very quietly, "The captain's quarters? but i thought they were going to throw me in some smelly pirate cell.
She began to explore the room, running her fingers gingerly over the map and staring curiously at the strange mechanisms and doodads in the room. It was an entirely new world to her, and she was thrilled despite the obvious kidnapping. By the time the captain was checking the sun's position she had wandered to the window and was staring out it with a sigh. She hadn't quite discovered the other door yet. She'd turn around and glare at the mirror every now and than, muttering under breath that hers was bigger. jerky pirates.
But she would sigh and turn back to the window. This predicament was all her fault for wanting to escape into the world to explore. It figured that the world would turn against her and get her get kidnapped like that. She just hoped that Kinsey was okay.

If there was one thing in the numerous skies out there that Giotto knew about himself, it was the fact he was wonderful at making plans up at the drop of a hat. he watched his crew meander about, calming down the further they got away from port and more on the open skies.
The day went by quickly, especially when the hint of a Royal Navy ship appeared from behind a particularly ugly cloud, and they had to make a quick getaway. After briefly visiting the galley to get some food that would be mildly somewhat presentable, and managed to slip his way into the Captain's Quarters without spilling the food, nor ruining the boys' elaborate way of keeping the Princess held up inside.
"You know, we won't get very far not knowing each others names." His voice was raspy from all the yelling he'd been doing, probably just startling her as he slipped the tray of food onto the table carefully. "You're going to be stuck with me for a while, and we'll be stuck with you. I figure it'll be easier if we all cooperate, yes?" He only hoped this would be easier than keeping her caged and then letting her lose amongst the hounds occasionally.
