Yes, I was reading that. It's a very nice change. Hence another reason why I want a set. I'll have you know I bought most of Ed's set for him. And I have a couple of the items on me but not the full set. I'd ideally like to have two full sets on me - one on Platinum and one on HS. One good for breeding, and one good for EV training. :3

You could always just us Ze, and hir.....those are way to refer to somone when you don't know their gender.....
Or just use there name all the time

Ahh sorry to ask such a strange question. It makes me happy to know that Pokefans come in both varieties. I always felt kinda unique as it seems I know more males who play than females. :o

Thats how I do it. I use a power item on a ditto that I caught a long time ago that has 31 attack and special attack (and HP too, its a one in a million) and then an everstone on the mother to force the 50% nature. Thats how I get good nature and max attack every time.

And while my ditto just is very lame. I wish you could breed me a super ditto. Another reason why I've been letting you do all the breeding. :XP

@Edgar: I wish my Dittos IVs weren't so disappointing, since I'd do the same. For now, I tend to just rely on getting females of the pokemon type I need and breed until I get decent IVs and natures. It's time consuming, but the results are roughly the same. I also wish you could breed Dittos with each other to get more Dittos. :illgetu:

@Izumi: Yeah, it is something of a male-dominated hobby. I guess I don't feel out of place since most of my female friends are pokemon fans (on some level), but I think I'm the one that has the reputation for it. XD;

I've been that way ever since I was little though; dominating the playground with my awesome holographics. :lol: I think the first persuasive essay I ever wrote was against the ban of pokemon card trading at school.

I caught that ditto on my first playthrough on FireRed. I had no idea of what I had found until a year later.
I caught it at level 28 in the mansion on Cinnabar Island. Its now level 99 and has never been in a fight. I keep getting tempted to EV train it, but I would rather be able to prove it is as strong as I claim it is.

I recently traded to get a modest ditto. The person that had it realized what it was worth. I had to trade a legit Rayquaza that I had caught on my Emerald

Ed is just luckier than I. He's caught more shinies than me. I could argue that it's because I'm only half paying attention when I do grind, but I keeping my eyes peeled for a shiny Ponyta. And no don't ask, ed - I'M KEEPING IT! Muhaha. :XD

Did the Modest Ditto have decent IVs?

That seems like a reasonable trade to me since you can always restart and get a new Rayquaza. I really need to get that one on my Ruby game. XD I kind of neglected Ruby a lot.

I have dittos of most beneficial natures. I'm only missing a few that I would ever use.
Plus I've used them to make a bunch of abras with syncronize so I can get legendaries with good natures.

I use to be into the card game when it first came out. I didn't have a very large deck though and I found that playing the GB game that came out was more fun that playing with the cards. I might have to see if I can find a copy of that as it was a lot of fun. I wish they'd do a Pokemon Card game for the DS.

I've played the very first Pokemon series before it got big in America with all the licensing and the show got popular. I was an original pokenerd. I have played on every generation now too...and I still have pokemon my Ex-husband gave me. Heh. Ed is more knowledgeable than he was though. (Not to mention my ex traded in his DS - BLASPHEMOUS!)

The only one that has decent IVs is my mega ditto. Its Serious nature. I use a modest or adamant ditto until I get a female of whatever nature I want, then put it in with an everstone and my mega ditto with a power item to lock, in the high IV. I breed 20 or so and keep the best one.

@Izumi: I agree, I like the games more than the Trading Card Game. I grew up with pokemon, but I stopped watching the show as time went on. I've never lost my love for the games though. :)

@Edgar: Hmm, I've read somewhere that Mew will give you a 100% chance at synchronizing, but I'd have to see it to believe it.

Speaking of which, Ferra...Ed has found a way to get special event pokemon. We're still on the fence on whether or not it would be considered cheating as the Pokemon obtained for all intent and purposes looks fully legit. The only problem is you can potentially get ANY pokemon through this method which is then taking it a little too far. :o

What method is it? *curious* I've seen people cheat using those R4 cards by duplicating teams and trading out "legit" pokemon that are actually clones, but nothing else really relating to event pokemon. (Save for obvious Action Replay hacks.)

@Tana: Like everyone else, it's not on purpose. :sweat: I don't know what to say.

It uses a programming language on your PC called Python. You get a file containing an actual event pokemon on your hard drive. You then set your DS IP address to a new address created by Python and you recieve the pokemon as a gift via the global trading center. I have located files for almost every event since the inception of the GBA

The events are legit enough that they will trigger the events they are suppose to: such as the shaymin will trigger the event in flowaroma town to get the flower to change it to sky forme.

I think this may be the source of the people giving event pokemon away on random trading threads once in a while.

And people selling pokemon on Ebay.

For all intent and purposes though we wouldn't and haven't given any of these said pokemon away, but I thought I'd mention it. I wouldn't shun getting some of the pokemon which are only obtainable at events this way. I know for a few of the events I didn't have the ability to make it to the said store for it.

And the pokemon seem to have the same moves, owner, level, and everything from the event. For all intents and purposes, it is the event pokemon. Just not obtained in the correct manor.
