"You're the one getting lazy," Glory teased. "I'm not the one falling asleep. I know better than that. Unlike you, I WILL drown if I fall asleep. Besides," she added, as an afterthought, "The water isn't warm enough for me to fall asleep in."

"True..." he admitted gruffly, curling up a bit more. "I won't doze off..."
Contrary to his words, he was dozing off within minutes. Obviously, this outing had taken a lot out of him--his cuts still hindered him.

Glory grinned and nudged him.
"If you're going to sleep," she said, "you may want to head into your little cave. I'm going to head back to shore and get properly dressed, but I'll be back."

Léan yawned, not bothering to move. "I will be fine here," he muttered, stretching out. "Arcturus and Damon are already keeping an eye out for boats and humans, so they will alert me if something comes close..."

"If you're sure," Glory replied. Giving him another quick hug, she made her way back to shore, glad when she could feel the sand under her feet again. Slipping her shirt and shorts back on, she sighed in relief. The sun was finally off of her shoulders, and she didn't care much if her forearms got a bit red. The sunburn would fade soon enough, and she would be back to her usual pale self.
After thinking for a moment, she took off her shirt and shorts again and laid them out on the large, flat rock. Then she laid down next to them to sunbathe for a little while.

Léan rested comfortably in the shaded area, ducking his head underwater to rest it on the sandy floor as he did so.
Archie, who was splashing around and playing with Damon nearby, watched her lay herself out to sunbathe. He'd never quite understood why humans sunbathed. Sure, it felt nice to lay in the sun's warmth for a while. But it burned after a while, especially if one laid themselves out.

Glory laid in the sun for a little while, just until she felt her skin getting a little warm and tight. Getting up, she grinned when she felt her bathing suit was dry and slipped her clothes on again. Stretching, she sighed happily. She felt so lazy... Summer vacation was the best.

Léan didn't sleep for too long. There was an awfully loud crunching sound, and Léan emerged from under the rocks with a slightly crushed crab in his hands and a scowl on his face.
"It tried to pinch my nose," he said shortly. "I don't even feel like eating it, now."
Archie didn't respond. He was too busy rolling around and laughing at him. Damon, on the other hand, squeaked quietly with delight and swam over.
"You no want? I can have?" he asked, brokenly.
Léan handed it to him, glad to get rid of the irritating crustacean. "Have it..."
Damon looked jovial, and he munched happily on the 'nose-pincher' as he swam back to Archie.

Glory giggled as she watched them.
"And that would be why I stay clear of crabs," she called, teasing. Sitting down on the rock, she dangled her feet in the water, watching how the sunlight played off of her painted toenails.

Léan grumbled.
"I didn't even provoke that crab. It just felt it would be a lovely idea to scuttle up and clamp down on my nose. Luckily, I managed to open my eyes before it did so...at least it wasn't a giant crab. Try encountering one of them on the ocean floor..."
Archie's laughing finally subsided. "Heh...speaking of big crabs, there used to be a giant patch of them outside the place we used to live," he recalled. "They used to clamp down and hang off of our tail fins."
He shuddered at the memory. "Crabs are not nice."

"I went to a bigger beach with my cousins, once. I spent the afternoon tossing crab shells back into the water," Glory said. "This was back when I thought there were still crabs in the shells."

"That sounds like fun! Speaking of throwing stuff around...Léan used to irritate the sea turtles that migrated through our area," he chuckled. "He'd go fetch one and launch it up out of the water. It wouldn't hurt them, of course--it was just funny."
Léan grinned a bit, remembering this. "Do you remember when I took one and launched it at Father? Hit him square in the head. And he never figured out it was me."

"Those poor turtles, they must have been traumatized," Glory said, giggling. She sighed wistfully. "I wish I could have seen it. I wish I could see everything." She grinned wryly. "Darn my inability to see clearly underwater."

Léan swished his tail back and forth a bit, brow furrowing.
"If you have issues seeing underwater, you should take some Abrium." Suddenly remembering he was speaking to a human, he cleared his throat to explain. "It is a medicine in our world that is...mostly permanent. It rarely wears off. It is given to infants that have problems seeing underwater."
He glanced over at Archie. "Do you know where to find some Abrium? I am still not in any condition to swim, especially if it's for a long distance."
"Yup, there's a settlement near her--some ways out," Archie replied, motioning out to the sea. "A little one, but if I can find the right person, I could get some..."
He glanced at Glory, all smiles. "I can go fetch some for you, if you want! It should work on a human--it's not poisonous."

"Really?" Glory asked, surprised. "You would do that?" That was strange. She'd thought that Léan was barely tolerating her, suddenly he was doing her favors? What had changed? Unless Archie was right when he said that Léan was starting to crush on her... But after only a couple of days?

Léan hummed slightly. "It's not a problem. Archie likes popping in on settlements," he offered idly, stretching. "I will warn you. From what I've heard, it tastes awful...so I would find something that tastes good to counter-balance it, after you take it."
Archie grinned. "It should only take me a few minutes, if I swim at full speed. I'll be back!"
He turned and ducked underwater, once again quite fast as he sped out into deeper water. Damon stayed behind, probably unable to keep up. He was floating on his back, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his torso and tail.

"I think I can handle a nasty aftertaste," Glory replied, kicking her feet a little in the water. "If not, I'm sure I have something inside that I can munch on afterwards." They were being so kind to her... Especially when Léan didn't like humans. She had no clue what made him like her enough to do such a favor for her...

Léan nodded, staring off into the distance. "All right, then. If you're sure." He seemed to be completely unaware of the turmoil going on in her mind. While he loved to observe humans, he was...incredibly dense most of the time when it came to deciphering their expressions, words, and body language into thoughts.
Damon, who seemed bored without Archie to play with, swam up behind Léan and splashed him lightly, smiling. "Play?" he asked, tilting his head.
Immediately, Léan began to grumble. He hated fooling around most of the time, especially when it involved others. But he seemed to feel that Damon would tell him off to Archie, so he sighed grudgingly and agreed.
Damon's 'playing' looked like a simple game of underwater tag. It was amusing to watch. Léan was much faster, but Damon was smaller, so it was difficult for them to catch each other.

Glory giggled as she watched the two play. They looked so carefree, and Léan even looked like he was having fun, after a few minutes. Obviously, he wasn't as much of a stick as he wanted everyone to believe.
"You look like you're having fun," she said during a brief pause in their game. "It's sweet that you're playing with him."

At the mention of the word 'sweet,' Léan wrinkled his nose. "There is nothing sweet about me," he replied shortly. He didn't sound cranky--more like the thought of him being sweet was...simply impossible. There was a hint of amusement on his face.
As Léan rested, Damon crept up behind him and hugged him around the middle. "Tag. Archie brother it."
Léan flailed his tail around a bit, attempting to dislodge him from his waist. "Wha...why are you hugging me? Off!"

"If you say so," Glory said, standing up and taking off her shirt and shorts. She was starting to get hot, so she was about to jump into the water again. Making sure her landing spot was clear, she took a step back and then jumped into the water, curling into a ball before she hit the water to make sure she didn't hit the bottom too hard.
The cool water felt good as she unfolded herself underwater. Pushing off the bottom, she broke the surface for air, grinning.
"The water feels nice," she said, relaxing and floating on her back.

Damon watched her jump in, interest immediately flooding his features. He swam up beside her, nudging her shoulder gently. "Tag, tag," he offered, smiling.
Léan snorted, almost in a challenge. "There is no way a human can keep up with us playing tag," he muttered.

"Who cares if I can't keep up?" Glory asked. "If we're having fun, what does it matter?" Kicking off from the rocks, she pushed herself towards him. "Granted, it's easier if there are things for me to kick off from, but still."

Suddenly realizing that she actually had an advantage, especially in shallow water or near the rocks--both where Damon insisted on playing--Léan shot off, veering through the rocks to avoid her. He was taking this as both an amusing spectacle and a competition.
Damon had hidden himself inside the rocks. Being smaller than Léan, he was not as easily spotted.

Grinning, Glory followed him. She knew as well as he did that she'd never be able to catch him in a full-on sprint, so she had to figure out how to get in front of him, somehow. Watching him going around the rocks gave her an idea. Quickly, she scrambled up the side of one of the rocks, and waited for him to come around it. The best she would be able to do would be to ambush him, as long as he didn't catch her first.
