Léan was tempted to. But, he decided to hold off for a moment. He blinked, then tilted his head, curiously. "...Bomb...what?" Obviously, that term was not used in his world. "What did she say?" he asked, instead. He wondered why this was upsetting her so much...maybe her answer would help him to understand.

"Sorry... pretty much it means that she said something that came so out of the blue that I'm still not sure what happened," Glory explained the term. She sighed and was silent for a moment. "Seems like you and I have a bit more in common than we thought." She hesitated for a second, then told him about the phone call.

Léan didn't know what to say. He sat there, talfin flicking back and forth in thought. He said nothing, for a long while, and just continued to think. He wouldn't disturb her, if she didn't want to be disturbed.

"So yeah, now I'm really sure my dad has no idea I exist," Glory commented. "Which may or may not be a good thing, I haven't figured it out yet." She sighed. "I thought my life was complicated enough before, though I guess this explains some things."

"Do you want to try and find him?" Léan asked, curiously. He finally shifted forward a bit, leaned in, and gave her a slow, hesitant hug. "...That would require calling your mother back. And asking for details."

"I'm not calling her," Glory said as she leaned into the hug. She needed the contact. She hadn't noticed she was trembling a bit until she cuddled closer to him. "That's not good enough. I'm going to drive to her place, because she and I need to talk. You just don't hold out on someone like that, not something that important. And I don't even know if it's possible to find him. It's hard enough finding one person on the thirty percent of the world that's dry land. The other seventy percent? That has to be near impossible."

"You forget that my kind are more like animals than you think. We have an excellent sense of smell," Léan reminded her, holding her close. "...It may sound quite odd, but...if I go with you, to your mother's home...I have your scent, but I don't have hers...I could isolate the strange scent and go looking for traces of it. If I'm correct, I can smell up to, if it's a strong scent...twenty or more miles away?"

"That's impressive," Glory replied. She was surprised when he suggested that he go with her. "Do you want to go? I was going to go today, maybe in a few hours."

Léan nodded, closing his eyes. "I will go with you, if you want me to. It will be easier searching if I know which parts of your scent are hers and which are foreign..."

"You don't have to, you know," Glory said, laying her head on his shoulder. "Look for him, I mean. I couldn't ask you to do that."

"I think it is something that would end up making you very happy. Therefore, I am more than willing to do this for you." Léan's tone was neutral, but he had a slight smile on his face. He rested his head against hers.

"This is more than I could ever repay you for," Glory said softly. Her mood was slowly lifting as she relaxed in his arms.

Léan smiled, running his hand hesitantly down her arm. "You don't have to repay me," he assured her, contently. "I'm willing to do this for free."

"You're the best," Glory said. She paused for a moment, then grinned and giggled a bit. "I'm never going to hear the end of it when your brother hears about this," she said. "Never. And I can guarantee he'll find out somehow."

Léan shuddered. "Gah..." He then shook it off and chuckled. "I think he's a bit too absorbed by his new daughter to bother with us for too long...then again, this is Arcturus I'm speaking about--he always finds a way..."

"He dropped by earlier, while you were still asleep," Glory said. "This being before the whole phone call fiasco. He asked for a blanket for her, so I dug out one of my old ones that I know I'm not going to miss."

"I hope it doesn't come back too waterlogged," Léan mused. "Yes, I don't think we'll be seeing much of him until he lets up his 'I'm-so-protective' attitude and lets Damon and their daughter come out to the beach.

"He said a week, so I'll bank on that for now," Glory said. "That at least gives me enough time to wrap my mind around things." She sighed. "I kind of get why she didn't say anything. She probably thought I wouldn't believe it, and I probably wouldn't have, before the summer. Still, though..."

Léan didn't say anything for a few minutes. "...Perhaps you really do need to go and talk to her, then. Urgently," he murmured, and then sighed. "It will not be an easy thing for you to do, will it?"

"No," Glory said softly. "I haven't seen her since I was ten or eleven. I'm about to turn eighteen. And even before then, Nana raised me more than she did, because more often than not, she gambled away all the money she made. I've heard she's gone through therapy for it, but..." She trailed off and sighed. "I'll have to ask Nana if she's still in the same apartment. I know the two have been in contact, since Nana goes to visit every so often."

Léan leaned more against her, tail swishing back and forth absently and making tiny, barely-audible thumps against the bed. "I will be there to support you. Do you think it would be a good idea to tell her what I really am? So, er...she doesn't think it's weird that I'm constantly sniffing the air to discern between scents?"

"Judging by how our conversation went earlier," Glory said dryly, "I'm guessing she'll already know. I'll warn her anyways when we get there, though."

Léan nodded. "Thank you." He fell silent, then, and enjoyed the silence, as well as her company. He then blinked, and shifted. "I suppose this would be a good time to figure out how to hide my tail in public, so we may use the wheelchair today."

"I think I have an idea in mind for that," Glory said. "Like I said, people won't see what they don't expect to see. So I'll find you a sweater or something, I know I have a sweatshirt or something, and then we can wrap a blanket around your tail and make it look like it's tucked around you. Sound like a plan?"

"Sure. Let's give it a go." Léan's tail flicked back and forth, eagerly. If this worked, then they could do more things together that didn't involve lounging around or swimming.
