"Alright." Getting up, Glory went over to her dresser and opened up one of the drawers, rummaging around. Finally she pulled out a dark blue sweater that was a couple sizes too big. "My aunt sent me this for christmas one year, I never bothered exchanging it for the right size," she said. "I never wear crew-neck sweaters anyways." She tossed it to him. "Try it on."

Léan caught it, and then studied it rather awkwardly. He'd had to wear clothing before, but it had been a long time. Quietly, he struggled with it for a bit before he finally settled in it, getting it right.

"I think it looks good," Glory said. "How does it fit?"

Léan shifted, pulling at it absently, and then cleared his throat. "It fits fine. At least this is comfortable. The human clothing I wore when I was last on land was not comfortable, in the least."

"Sweaters are usually comfortable," Glory said. "Unless they're made of wool or something. Then they're itchy." Going over to her closet, she pulled out her favorite jeans and an old, soft sweater. The sweater had a deep-V neck, so she pulled out a lace-trimmed tank to go underneath. "Out," she said, "I need to get dressed."

Léan waved her off, wordlessly indicating that he needed a bit of time to get settled in the wheelchair again. Once he finally was settled in the chair and recalled the controls, he wheeled out of the room, quietly closing the door behind him.

Once he closed the door behind him, Glory changed into the clothes she picked out. It didn't take her long, but she spent a bit of time brushing out her hair and braiding it back. The mindless work gave her a bit of time to think and to brace herself for what she had to do. Once she couldn't make any excuses anymore, she slipped on a pair of flats and left her room.

Léan was sitting in the wheelchair and trying to find the most comfortable position to hide his tail in. All he needed were the supplies to hide his tail and he would be fine.

While Léan was shifting around to get comfortable, Glory went to the linen closet and pulled out a plain grey blanket and a pack of safety pins.
"Prop yourself up for a moment," she said. "I want you to sit on this so we can wrap it around you that way. Then I can pin it in the right places so it stays the way we want it."

Léan lifted himself up from the chair temporarily. He had more upper body strength than a human did, but it wasn't super-powered or anything of the sort. Quietly, he waited for her to work.

Quickly, Glory unfolded the blanket and slid it under him.
"Alright, you can sit again," she said. Once he did, she wrapped the blanket around him, pinning it in a few places so that it didn't fall open when he moved. "Comfortable enough?" she asked when she was finished.

Léan shifted a few times, then nodded, pleased. "Quite. That's comfortable enough for me..." He closed his eyes, and rested his head against the back of the wheelchair.

"Alright," Glory replied. "Let me just let Nana know we're heading out." Heading into the kitchen, she looked for her grandmother.
"Nana," she said when she found her, "we're going out for a bit. Is she still in the same apartment?" Glory didn't need to clarify who 'she' was. Nana nodded.
"She is," she replied. "You're both going?"
"Yeah," Glory replied. She didn't elaborate. Nana looked at her for a moment, and then nodded.
"Alright," she said. "Drive safely, and make sure to call if you're going to be out late."
"I will." With that, Glory grabbed her purse and her keys.

Léan wheeled out after her, wondering how he would get in the car. He didn't look suspicious, as long as he remembered to keep his tail still and under control. He didn't ask questions when Glory was talking with her Nana.
He seemed to fidget and poke at the shirt, a lot. He wasn't used to wearing clothing, so that was only natural. But he was going to have to get over that if he had any hope of making it in public.

"Stop fidgeting," Glory said as she unlocked her car and opened his door first. Without a word, she lifted him out of hte chair and into the car, and then collapsed the wheelchair and put it into the back seat. Going around to the driver's side, she got in and buckled up.

Léan settled himself in the seat, yawning, and then reluctantly left the sweater alone. Now that his hair was dry and clean, he looked like a typical human. Minus the tail, of course.

"Strap in," Glory said as she turned on the car and fiddled with the heater for a moment. The radio was already set to her favorite station, though she turned the volume down a bit. "I'm always going to insist on it, so you may as well get used to it."

Léan, who knew barely anything about human music, didn't know what else he would suggest. He was strangely quiet, probably because he sensed her tension. He gave her a peculiar look when she told him to strap in, then noticed her seatbelt. He poked at the belt, then fumbled with it, trying to get it to stay like hers did.

Reaching over, Glory took the buckle from where he was fiddling with it and clicked it into the slot.
"Like that. The button ont he side releases it," she said. Once he was strapped in properly, she backed out of the driveway and started down the road. It wasn't all that far back to the outer parts of the city where her mother lived. Normally, Glory would have said that Léan could play with the radio, to see if he could find something he liked, but today, Glory wanted to stay on the country station. It kept her nerves relatively stable as they got closer to the apartment building.

"Oh. I don't make a very good human, do I?" Léan drawled as he settled down. He stared out of the window with fascination. The human world was very strange. Very strange, indeed. Fascinating, but peculiar. The odd way he was looking around made people outside think he was some sort of odd foreigner, so their suspicions weren't piqued.

"It just takes practice," Glory replied. She grinned a bit when they passed the garage where an old friend of hers worked. "It's been a long time since I've been back this way. I wonder if anyone remembers me...?" Shaking her head, she pulled into the visitor lot for the apartment complex. Getting out, she went around to the other side of the car and took out the wheelchair before helping Léan into it. "Come on, we need to be buzzed in at the door."

Léan settled himself on the wheelchair again, pondering her words. He was sure he'd get some recognition from people in his hometown. Not that he was planning on heading back that way ever again...it was hostile territory for him, and he knew more than anyone else that he was not welcome there. "All right." He quietly wheeled after her.

Going over to the door, she looked for her mother's apartment number on the listing and pressed the button. The intercom crackled for a moment.
"Who is it?" her mother's voice asked.
"It's Glory," Glory replied shortly. "Open the door." There was a pause, and then she heard the buzzer that let her know the door was open. "Come on," she said to Léan. "There's an elevator inside, so we don't have to worry about the stairs to go up."

Léan nodded, relieved. He followed her inside, marveling at the intercom as they passed. There wasn't anything like that in his world. The lack of electricity was probably the reason for the lack of technology. Though, there were other forms of energy that were used...

Glory held the door open for him, and then went inside. She pressed the up button on the elevator and the doors opened immediately. Putting her arm in front of one of them so it wouldn't close, she let him go in first.
"Hit the button for the fifth floor," she said.
