"That's alright," Glory replied. "As long as you enjoyed it, that's what matters." It didn't take long for her drive home. The town wasn't all that big, after all.

Léan stared around outside like a lost child again, taking in the sights. He would probably never admit it, but with how different his way of life was, he would never fully fit into the human world. His lack of English reading skills was bad enough...

Glory glanced at him as she pulled into the driveway.

"Having fun there?" she teased.

Léan huffed. "Your world is very peculiar," he replied, simply. "I don't think I will ever fully understand it. Then again, I've always known that humans tend to be very contradictory, hateful, and hypocritical towards all other life forms, and even towards themselves." He paused. "At the moment, I'm quite interested in..."

He pointed out in the distance, towards the city. The largest skyscrapers could be just barely seen in the distance. "...Why do you build such tall buildings, when you can't reach them without the help of machines most of the time? What if there is a fire? What if it falls over?"

"They have before, actually," Glory said as she turned off the car. "Do you remember, a while back, there was that huge incident, they called it a terrorist attack? A pair of planes crashed into a pair of buildings, and the buildings burned and collapsed. They can only estimate how many people were killed." As she talked, she helped him out of the car and into the wheelchair. "You might not have heard about it, news may not have reached your world. I don't know how quickly or efficiently news moves past the surface."

"Pff, we know more than you think." Léan shifted, settling down into the chair. "I remember hearing about that. My first thoughts, of course, were what is an airplane, what is a terrorist, and my last thought about the buildings. It's completely illogical. Building large buildings is logical underwater, because we can reach all of the levels just by swimming up to them. Plus, we have no fire," he added, brightly.

"Yeah, well, the laws of physics apply differently up here," Glory pointed out. She grinned. "I'm sure you've noticed."

"Regrettably so," Léan concurred, dryly. "Building buildings with floors that are too tall to reach by climbing stairs...terrible mindframe. It is just like overfishing. Oh, look, more fish to sell. But we have to look harder and harder to find fish every single year...why? Because humans are overfishing, and wiping out the diverse life in the ocean. Not to mention capturing my kind by accident...and, of course, since we're totally abominations, we get killed, most of the time, if we're pulled up..."

"I never said my species was actually smart," Glory pointed out as they went inside. "What's going on, what brought on the sudden ranting?

"Being out in public and having a chance to notice many other things that ought to be fixed," Léan chuckled, amused. Ranting made him sound quite like his old self. When he ranted--and he'd inadvertently adopted this trait from his father--if he wasn't stopped, he would go too far. It was why he probably wasn't suited for much social interaction with humans.

"There's a lot that needs fixing," Glory agreed. "Whether or not it will be is the question." Absently, she checked out the window, glancing out over the beach. It was habit by now to do so whenever she got home.

The beach was occupied this time. For the first time in a while, Damon was laying out in the shallows, sunning himself. Archie was not with him--he was probably watching Eden so Damon could go out.

Glory grinned.

"Well, look who's finally surfaced again," she commented to Léan, moving over so he could see out the window.

Léan peered out, then tilted his head and half-frowned, half-smiled. "While it's nice to see he's all right, I don't fancy the thought of leaving my brother alone with a small child. He gets easily distracted."

"We can go outside, if you want," Glory said. "There's enough daylight left."

"I suppose we can, as long as he doesn't want me to play with him. I'm tired, and really not in the mood," Léan replied, cooperatively. "Let's go."

Glory grinned as she picked him up to take him outside.

"Buzzkill," she said affectionately, giving him a kiss.

Léan huffed, then gingerly responded to her kiss. He was fairly sure his worries weren't that important. Damon was probably still tired.

"You know I'm teasing you," Glory said as she took him out to the beach. Setting him down at the shore, she went to her rock and sat down. It was too cold for her to put her feet into the water, but her rock was still alright for now.

Léan slid into the water easily enough, glad to have his tail wet again. He would be perfectly fine on land...if his tail didn't dry out.

Damon waved to them but didn't move from his sunning spot. He seemed glad to be able to relax.

Glory waved back, though she didn't move from her rock. It was as close to the water as she could get while the weather was cold.

Léan was glad that Damon wasn't in the mood to play, either. The two laid beside each other, curled up and resting in the sunlight, which was quickly beginning to fade away as it grew dark.

Glory looked out over the water absently. She was definitely feeling better than she was earlier, which was a good thing. She might even be willing to talk to Nana soon... Not immediately, but soon.

Damon seemed like he was completely pooped. All he wanted to to do was lay around and rest. It was Archie's turn to take care of Eden, and he wasn't going back there for at least a full twenty-four hours.

Léan stretched himself out more and yawned.

"You look comfortable," Glory said to Léan, grinning. She pulled her coat around herself a bit more as a cold breeze came off the water.
