"If my memory serves me correctly, you need to get to water immediately, after the bite--the bite should last...a minute or two," Léan informed her, trying to recall. "...It will hurt. A lot."

"I'm a big girl," Glory said teasingly, "I can handle it." She thought for a moment. "Maybe I can try to convince my parents to take a sort of honeymoon..." she mused. "Get them away from the beach for a while." She knew she could handle the cold long enough for him to change her, she wasn't worried about that. But she didn't want to risk her parents stumbling upon them. She'd never live down the embarassment.

Léan went red, then cleared his throat. "...I suppose we could try that..." he agreed, reluctantly. "It needs to be done on land...but water needs to be very much nearby...so much so, that it can be reached in seconds, while you are in extreme pain..."

"Which pretty much means here on the beach," Glory said. "We'll figure something out. It doesn't have to be right away."

"Either there, or very close to the door..." Léan concurred, nervously. "And...the time is up to you. Whenever is a good time for you...I have limitless free time, you see."

"You're worrying too much," Glory said, giving him a kiss. "Everything will work out, I know it. I might even be back on my feet in time for school that Monday," she added teasingly, grinning.

Léan sighed. His tail slowly uncurled from around him, and he stretched it out. It glimmered in the quickly-fading light...what little there was left. "All right..."

Checking the time, Glory reluctantly stood up.

"I have to go get ready for work," she said. "I'm going to be late if I don't hurry." Leaning down, she gave him a kiss. "I'll be back at the same time as always."

Léan returned her kiss pleasantly, though he was upset that she had to leave. "All right...I will see you later, then..." He gently slid back down into the shallows, turning to watch Damon and Archie play with Eden.

Going back inside, Glory changed quickly before going straight out to her car. She'd have just enough time to get there, and actually be on time, if she left immediately. She might have broken a couple of speed limits on the way, but she made it to work with about thirty seconds to spare.

It seemed like a slow night tonight. There weren't many employees here, and only ten sets of customers eating. Viktor was entertaining some of the employees near the back of the restaurant--he was playing an acoustic guitar and singing. He was...quite good...very good, actually, like he'd had lessons.

Glory didn't think much of it as she walked in and put her stuff away. She'd pretty much figured nothing in this town would surprise her anymore, so this was just one of those things. It was a song she recognised, so she hummed along absently as she punched in.

Viktor finished up his song, and his audience clapped. He chuckled, and then noticed Glory. "Hey. It's a slow night--you can relax and sit a while, if you want."

"I was almost running late, I don't want to push my luck," Glory replied with a grin. "Words of wisdom: sitting on the beach for an hour this time of year is really cold."

"Pffff. Oh, come on. We've all got it covered," Viktor teased. "There's barely any customers tonight, and if we get more, we can all get back to work."

Glory rolled her eyes.

"Talk about getting paid to do nothing," she teased back.

"I could always blast some really bad disco--would that be better for you, hun?" Viktor taunted, grinning. "I happen to like my rock, metal, and country. Come on, relax for a while."

"I have no issues with rock or country," Glory protested, grinning. "I love country, it's all I listen to in the car."

"Come and listen, then. If you're so antsy, you can serve any customers that come in." Viktor began another song, a softer one this time. Very few customers filtered in and out through the night.

"I hate it when you're right, you know," Glory commented at the end of the night. There had barely been any traffic at all. She was a proud enough dork that she knew most of the songs he'd gone through that night, at least well enough to know most of the words.

"Hey, you got an easy night tonight. I don't wanna hear any complain' outta you," Viktor snickered, setting the guitar down next to him. "You get a good night's sleep tonight."

"With four more days of school ahead of me this week?" Glory asked as she grabbed her stuff. "I'll be lucky if I manage to get any of my homework done at all, judging by how today went."

"Just turn it in late. Or play hooky for a day. Sheesh, if you're overwhelmed, take a break," Viktor hummed, frowning. "There's always homeroom and lunch to finish homework."

"It's not that I'm overwhelmed," Glory said. "I've just been... distracted. I can't focus on school lately." It didn't take a genius to know what, and who, had been distracting her.

Viktor had already guessed that. "Maybe you really should play hooky for a day. Get out and spend time with him. Seems like you need it," he informed her, amused.
