Léan debated for a moment, and then shook his head, shaking away all the planning he had been doing. "All right. I will play it by ear, and let things happen as they will." He would chase away his planning and see how it went. He seemed comfortable with this.

"Alright," Glory said, cuddling closer to him.

Léan laid his head on her shoulder, hoping some kind of instinct would burst forward and tell him what to do. He was a little too nervous to experiment on his own.

Leaning up a bit, Glory gave him a kiss.

"Just relax," she said.

Léan sighed, responding to her kiss slowly. "I am relaxed. I'm...simply at a loss as to what to do." He paused. "Erm...perhaps clothing, first?" he suggested, unsure of how she would react to that.

"A-alright," Glory replied, a bit nervous herself. Slowly, she slipped her thin camisole over her head.

Léan followed her out just as quickly, thankfully not tipping over on the wheelchair this time. He pulled himself off of it once it would no longer move--in the sand. He quickly rolled himself along the sand and into the water.

Glory was curled up in the shallows, trembling and whimpering in pain. She felt like she was on fire, and she couldn't concentrate on anything because she was so dizzy and nauseous.

Léan swam up to her and wrapped his arms around her. "It's me. Don't panic." Quietly, he shifted her into a more comfortable position for the change--he stretched her legs all the way out and pressed them together. He made sure they were semi-elevated.

Glory didn't respond as he moved her. Her nerves were all hyper-sensitive, and his touch made her whimper a bit more. She felt like she couldn't quite get a full breath, and her muscles were all tense to the point of trembling. The only clear thing that went through her head was that she hoped that it wouldn't last much longer.

Léan knew there were only two major parts of the change--one was the formation of gills--which was first, and he was watching for it, now--and the most painful part, which was the melding together of the legs. It wouldn't hurt every time she switched from legs to a tail, and vice-versa. Just the first time.

Glory cried out a little as she felt a sharp pain on her neck, but that was quickly out-done as her legs felt like they were being burned by acid. She couldn't do much more than gasp and whimper at the pain, because it was taking all of her energy not to pass out, though the pain was also keeping her conscious.

Once Léan saw the gills beginning to form, he gently tugged Glory out to deeper waters, and dragged her underwater. With the gills forming, she would find it easier and less painful to breathe water instead of air. He made sure to keep her legs balanced as he moved her.

Glory vaguely noticed that she found it easier to breathe as he pulled her into the water, though she didn't take the time to really think about it. She was a bit more focused on trying not to hurt so much.

Léan propped her legs up, together, on one of the smaller fully-underwater rocks. They had started to fuse together at her waist, so he pulled her legs closer together...even the feet. He focused on keeping them together, or she wouldn't change correctly.

Finally, Glory couldn't take the pain anymore and quietly passed out, her head on his shoulder.

Léan felt this would be better for her, as he held her close. He only hoped she wouldn't panic when she woke up. Quietly, he held her through the rest of the change, as her legs melded together and the scales grew in. He picked off stray scales that didn't grow correctly--these would grow back properly in a few days' time. Once she was fully changed, he pushed her new tail off of the rock and carried her back to the shallows to rest.

Glory wasn't sure how long she was out, but she came around cuddled comfortably in Léan's arms. She still felt a lingering ache, but it was more of an echo than anything. Opening her eyes, she gasped a bit when she realized she was underwater.

Léan had been asleep, for about an hour. He was yanked out of sleep when he heard her gasp, and he sat himself up slightly, holding her close. He tilted his head, inquisitively.

Glory looked around a bit, and then down at herself. Her skin was still the same shade, and her hair was still black, but from the waist down, there was a tail instead of legs. The scales that started at her waist were a pretty, vibrant blue-purple with a slight iridescence. She looked in awe for a moment before turning back to Léan.

"How long was I out?" she asked.

"About two hours," Léan surmised, softly. "You should probably get more rest, but...that depends on how you feel. If you feel fine, I don't see the need..." He was overjoyed that everything had gone smoothly. The biggest obstacle they had to overcome now was, of course, teaching her how to swim.

"More rest sounds good, actually," Glory replied, snuggling closer to him. "I still ache a little... It's not bad, though."

Léan smiled, nodding, and cuddled up a little more to her. "Do you want something to eat, or anything? That might make you feel better," he informed her. He was basically offering to go out and hunt for her, or help her up onto shore so she could get something from the house to eat.

"Maybe in a little bit," Glory replied. "Right now I just want to cuddle with you." Turning a little, she gave him a kiss.

Léan returned her kiss without protest, tail flicking back and forth of its own accord. He was amused to see that hers did the same.
