"It's alright," Glory said softly as she took him inside. Setting him on the couch, she handed him the remote. "I should put on something relatively decent," she said. "Give me five minutes. Find something you want to watch, it doesn't matter much to me what it is."

Léan took the remote and quietly recalled how to use it for a moment. "All right...you should probably try to fetch the wheelchair sometime today, in case it rains. It's still out there," he reminded her, softly.

Glory nodded.
"I'll get it," she said. Going into her room, she slipped into some old, well-worn pajamas and tied her damp hair back into a more managable half-twist. Then she went back out and grabbed the wheelchair, folding it up and taking it inside.

Léan had stopped flicking through channels when he found a documentary on about Walt Disney. He was fascinated by the snippets of cartoons and movies they were showing.

Going inside again, Glory settled herself on the couch next to him, cuddling into his side. She looked at the show in interest.
"Oh, hey, that's all old-school Disney," she commented when she saw a clip of Steamboat Willy. She grinned. "I might still have some of my old Disney movies around here somewhere, if you want to watch one later."

Léan tilted his head. "Dis...ney?" he asked, puzzled. It was hard to believe, for a human anyway...but he had never heard of Disney--the man, the movies, or the business.

Glory nodded.
"The guy who created all of those cartoons," she gestured to the video clips, "his name was Walt Disney. He's quite possibly one of the most famous people in the country. He pretty much created a whole enterprise called Walt Disney Studios, and they make animated shows and movies. Anything from those studios is called 'Disney' for short, and just about every child in the country has seen one of the movies at some point. I have copies of some of my favorites."

"Oh. Like Lleu in our world..." Léan contemplated, curiously. He looked up, realizing she probably didn't know who or what Lleu was.
"Erm...Lleu is much like your Disney person...except, he excels in the most powerful force of entertainment our world has. Which is music. Lleu is a blind albino merman, and a genius. He is around my age, maybe younger. He makes the most well-known music under the water. And has the most hypnotic Siren Song ever recorded."

"Oh wow," Glory said, "that's pretty cool." She grinned. "Remind me one of these days to find some clips of some of the musical classics. Bach's Organ Fugue in G-Minor is quite possibly the most haunting thing I've ever heard, and I love it."

"Quite true." Léan sighed suddenly, bowing his head a bit. "If my father does inform the nearest settlement that I have changed a human...we will have to leave, or everyone--including your parents, and my brother, Damon, and Eden--will have to hole up on land for a while to diffuse suspicion...if we leave, the small town Lleu lives in, Utzi, will be a safe place to go. Lleu uses his power and influence to keep changed humans and their mates and friends safe. It is not far from here."

"How would they be able to prove it, though?" Glory asked. "I could just as easily not go in the water for a while." She didn't like the idea of having to leave, and having to leave Nana behind on her own.

"You forget that a good half of my species has an incredible sense of smell. There is a subtle, but distinct difference between the smell of a merperson and the smell of a changed human. Subtle as in...they will only be able to tell the difference if they really dig deep into the scent..." Léan was sure there was at least one merperson in the nearby settlement with a strong scent of smell.

"I don't like the thought of leaving Nana on her own, though," Glory said. "Not with the beach becoming more... popular."

Léan blinked. "...Ack. Did we try to get her used to the Siren's Song, yet?" he asked, trying to recall. "We could just pull everyone up out of the water. We could fit--not too comfortably--three merpeople and a child in the tank...and everyone could bunk up in here."

"We never got around to it," Glory replied. She looked over at the tank and then shook her head. "Even if the tank was big enough, which I really don't think it is, I think it would just be easier to explain to Nana what's going on."

"...I worry for the safety of the others, though," Léan admitted. "They are all more comfortable--save for perhaps your mother--being in the water. If my father is still hanging around, he may attack, hurt, and/or kill someone. If he informs the nearby settlement...that will be worse. We will have an entire town that will attack us."

"They will be all right, for now, since they aren't here...my father doesn't know where they've gone. My main concern is for the little one. If anything, we should bring her inside..." Léan insisted, worriedly. "...But, for now...I suppose we should try to have fun on land. Or, we can try to chase him away."
He furrowed his brow, trying to think of what, if anything, scared his father other than humans--which didn't really scare him, seeing as he just hated them.

"You really think your brother would let us bring Eden inside?" Glory pointed out. It would almost be easier to just get Léan's father to leave.

"I do not know if he would in any other circumstances. But he would agree with me that she is top priority, and should be kept safe," Léan murmured. He sighed, scratching his head. Then, something occurred to him.
"...That's it. That's it! My father...he is terrified of large, loud boats!" Léan realized.

"If it's possible for him to swing by here with a large boat...by all means, go ahead." Boats scared Archie and Damon, and he was sure they terrified Azilis, as well. But, they would have to deal with it until they found a way to get rid of Betelgeuse for good. Léan seemed happy about the plan.

"He has a large boat, yes," Glory said. "At this rate, I'm going to owe him favors for the rest of my life."
