"I understand," Glory replied, "trust me, I do. I like meat as much as the next creature. But I also have a very deep respect for something that can tackle another creature from below hard enough to end up ten feet in the air." Grinning, she hurled the seaweed back at him, trying once again to tip him back into the water.

She almost succeeded--he wobbled, and the caught himself when the ball of seaweed hit him, grumbling.

"Hm...true. The food chain will always be prevalent in life, even in human life. Just wait until a natural predator develops for your kind," he taunted, tossing it back at her.

Damon swam over at this point with a...nice pile of seaweed. "Gift, gift!" he chimed happily.

"It hasn't happened yet," Glory pointed out. "Then again, I think we're too paranoid to let it happen." Grinning, she held up her arms to protect her face as the seaweed came at her, and caught it when it bounced off of them. That's when Damon appeared with more seaweed. She smiled and took it.

"Thanks," she said to him. Grinning, she added it to the ball and hurled it back at Léan.

This time, Léan wobbled, managing to grab the seaweed before he fell off the rock and into the water with a loud 'sploosh!' He resurfaced after a moment, slightly dizzy. "Ouch. That's a lot of seaweed, he commented, gathering up the stray pieces and chucking it back at her."

"Ha!" Glory crowed when he finally fell in, "I win!" Her celebration was short-lived, though. The ball of seaweed knocked her backwards into the water as well when he threw it at her. She squeaked in surprise before she hit the water, and came up laughing. "And there goes that victory."

Léan looked triumphant when she fell in, tail swishing back and forth. "At least I was graceful," he commented snidely, using his tailfin to flick water at her.

"That's because you don't have the limbs to flail around," Glory snarked back, throwing a bit of seaweed at his face. Dropping the rest back into the water, she climbed back up on the rock.

Léan chuckled, swimming between the rocks on his back, enjoying the sun. He seemed to be more relaxed today, much more relaxed. He was even laughing and playing around.

Archie had noticed this, and he seemed quite excited. He masked it by playing tag with Damon in the shallows nearby.

Grinning, Glory watched as he swam around, a plan forming in her mind. She waited until he was in just the right place before jumping off of the rock in a cannon ball. She tried to angle herself just so, to make the biggest spash that she could in hopes that she would get him.

Léan was not expecting it, and he jumped, getting caught up in the splash and being dunked underwater as a result.

He came up grumbling, of course, and shook his hair out. "Why?" he asked, almost to himself. He seemed amused, though.

"Why what?" Glory asked. "Why'd I splash you? Because that's what you DO in a water fight." She tried to give him the 'duh~' look, but failed and started laughing instead. "After all, didn't the whole seaweed fight thing just kind of degenerate into splashing?"

Léan stared, and then raised an eyebrow. "You want to start a water fight with a sea creature?" he reiterated, pointedly. "How logical is that?"

There was a pause, and then he lightly smacked her leg underwater with his tail and began to swim away, to hide.

Glory paused for a moment, surprised, before the grinned.

"Oh, that's it," she said. She tried to follow where he went with her eyes, but the reflection of the sky on the water made it hard. "Alright, I need to see this from above," she muttered to herself, climbing up the nearest rock. Instantly, the glare was reduced and she could just barely see him darting behind one of the other rocks. She would never be able to get to the rock in time to catch him... She would have to wait until he came back around, then.

Smirking to herself, she settled herself on the rock to wait.

Léan swam slowly, carefully, once he'd lost her. He looked around warily, coming towards the rock Glory was on. He didn't seem to notice her...

Grinning, Glory slowly got her feet under her, deciding to wait until after she'd caught him to announce her victory. Once he had turned his back, she jumped off the rock and tackled him.

"I win!" she cheered, her arms still around his shoulders.

Léan was glancing back and forth, looking for a good hiding place, when something leaped on him from above and knocked the wind out of him.

"Agh!" He managed to stay afloat, not bothering to shrug out of her grip. "That's cheating. I hope you know that's a loaded win."

Unlike the last time she had attempted hugging him, or anything of the sort, he didn't question it, and didn't stare at her as if she'd grown two heads.

"Me climbing on the rocks is cheating just like you outpacing me in the water is cheating," Glory pointed out, hanging onto him so she wouldn't have to tread water. "We're both just using our advantages."

"So it's fruitless to battle in the first place," he mused, mulling it over. He still said nothing about her being so close to him, or even having her arms around him, though it was slightly impeding his swimming.

"Pretty much," Glory agreed, letting go of him and going over to sit on one of the rocks. "We both know what works."

"Mm." It wasn't an interesting reply, but Léan didn't know what to say. He laid himself out on the same rock, but a little bit below, on a small outcropping of it. He looked quite relaxed, and content.

"You look like you're finally feeling better," Glory noted as she watched him stretch out. "I'm glad. I hate seeing you so depressed."

Léan shrugged. "I feel better, yes...I suppose it's because it's a nice day, and Arcturus has finally stopped dunking me..."

He closed his eyes, resting his cheek against the still-cool rock.

Speaking of Archie, he was hovering nearby, peeking out from behind the rock. He poked Glory in the the leg and grinned, attempting to encourage her to try and hint at what he wanted her to now that the two of them were alone and away from everything else. He then quietly slid back out of the rocks to find Damon. He seemed excited, and hoped Léan's density wouldn't ruin it.

"Well, I think it's because I finally got you to have some fun, but that's just me," Glory replied tartly. "I don't get why you try to act like such a crotchety old man all the time." She hesitated, wondering if she should say what was nagging at her mind. Finally, she gave in.

"Archie told me what happened with that other girl," she said softly.

About to retort to the 'crotchety old man' comment, Léan fell silent. He still looked relaxed--physically. The only sign that he was a little more tense was the sudden, swift swishing of his tail, back and forth, back and forth...

"...He told you about Selena?" he muttered after a while, voice calm. He didn't seem angry that Archie had told her. He seemed more...more...relieved. He hadn't had it in him to tell her himself.

"If that was her name," Glory said. She draped herself over the rock so that she was looking at him. "If he told me her name, I didn't catch it. All I really got from the story was that she obviously wasn't the right one for you."
