"Already taken care of," Glory retorted, not afraid. She wasn't used to being awake at such an unreasonable hour, much less being active in any way, and her temper was starting to shorten a bit. "I would much rather wait until it's actually normal for people to be awake, so I have time to actually make sure the tank is filled, but if I have to, I'll call in my contacts right now. I can have them on the phone in five minutes." She pushed her hair back over her shoulder from where it was drifting in front of her. She made a mental note to braid it later. She sighed a bit. "Alright, I'll admit I have my own reasons for it, too, but at least it'll get you away from the shark."

Betelgeuse scoffed, like he didn't believe her. Without another word, he turned and swam away, back under the rocks. It seemed like there wasn't going to be any talking with him. He did say, in a way, that he would be impressed and wouldn't fight if she could find someone willing to grab him and shove him in the tank.

Glory knew the conversation was over, though she found it a little ironic that he'd disappeared into the same little cave that Léan liked.

"If the shark chases you again," she said, "get up onto the rocks. He can't reach you there." She didn't care if he listened or not. She'd given the advice. Turning, she made sure that the shark was occupied before she went back to the shallows, pulling herself up onto the shore. She got herself just past the shoreline and waited on the sand for her tail to change back.

The shark, thankfully, seemed to get the message that he wasn't to chase this strange--and not nice--merman around. He went off browsing for fish nearby, behind the rocks. Betelgeuse did not return.

Once her tail changed back, Glory brushed the sand off of herself and stood up. She was a bit wobbly for a second, then steadied herself. Gathering her clothes, she put them on again and went back inside.

Léan was waiting. He looked very relieved when she returned. "Ah...how...was he?" he asked, awkwardly. "Did you break it up? Did he agree, or...?"

"Unfortunately, he's fine," Glory said as she snuggled back in with him. "He pretty much dared me to find someone capable of manhandling him into the tank, and then didn't believe me when I said I already had. He also tried to intimidate me, but it didn't work."

Léan sighed, happy to continue cuddling with her. "I think we should have Curry and Viktor come over a little later...at a reasonable hour. Viktor can...he's good with metal work, I think...he can secure the tank to the wall, so that my father can't tip it over. And Curry, of course, can do the manhandling..."

"And I still need to fill the tank, too," Glory agreed. "But a more reasonable hour sounds good." She cuddled closer to him. "Sorry my hair is wet, I kind of had to get between him and the shark. I hadn't realized the shark had gotten so big already."

"He is a Great White, from what I can see..." Léan commented, settling down to sleep. "I don't mind. Really...he will be a good guardian for our beach..." He yawned.

"He still needs a name," Glory pointed out. "And we need to get him used to everyone else, if he isn't already."

"He probably isn't used to everyone, yet..." Léan realized. "...Hm. I suppose...we should name him. Do you have any male names in mind?"

"I'll look some up in the morning," Glory said. "What I'm most worried about is how everyone else will react to there being a massive shark around the beach. I'm thinking one of us is going to have to be out there almost all the time, for when they get back."

"Unless we can find someone else he takes to. He won't take to most the way he's taken to us...but perhaps one of them will have luck with him," Léan mused. He grinned, then. "Heh. It may sound mean, but I can't wait to see Curry take my father on. We will...have to get him semi-used to the Song, first, before he tries. Viktor, too."

"If you can take care of that, I can keep the shark occupied while everyone is on the beach," Glory offered.

Léan nodded, confident for once. "I can do that. Now...we should probably get some rest. I think it will be quit eventful tomorrow, having to force him into the tank."

"It'll be amusing, if nothing else," Glory agreed, snuggling in. Now that she was comfortable again, she could feel herself falling asleep.

Léan was asleep before her this time. He was tired, despite the sleep he'd gotten before, and couldn't resist falling asleep first.

Glory fell asleep quickly as well, snuggled close to him. She probably wouldn't be able to sleep without him there, at this point, since she was so used to him being next to her.

Léan slept well, and didn't wake up for a while. He was having a good dream, curled up against her, and was getting restful sleep. His worries about his father were thrown out of his mind.

When Glory woke up again, it was light out. Even without looking at the clock, she could tell it was already late in the morning, but she didn't feel like moving quite yet.

Léan woke up slowly, muttering something about a good dream. He rubbed at his eyes and then sat up slightly before sinking back down into a more comfortable position. "Good morning..."

"Morning," Glory replied. "I take it you slept well."

"Mm-hm...no nightmares, no strange dreams...I slept well," Léan concluded, simply. "Mmm...we should see if Viktor and Curry want to come over, now...Viktor will need time to work on the tank, and we need to get them used to the Song..."

"Alright," Glory said. Reaching over to her nightstand, she grabbed her cell phone to text Viktor.
