Léan was waiting for her in the shallows, keeping an eye on the gloomy figure lurking around somewhere behind him.

Glory undressed and stashed her clothes in a place she knew they would stay dry and then slid into the water.

"Alright," she said, checking to make sure no water was getting into the plastic bags, "we can leave now."

Léan nodded, glancing behind him.

Betelgeuse didn't know where to go. Though he was the oldest of their haphazard little group, he wasn't intending on leading. He lurked around behind them and a big rock.

Softly, Glory explained which direction they had to go in, and how far. She wasn't good with geography, so she hoped that one of them was a bit better with it than she was.

Betelgeuse turned, and then quietly started off in the correct direction, leaving them in the dust.

Léan jumped, and hurried to catch up.

((Going to turn in. So tired from school...night.))

Glory followed them, doing her best to keep up. She wouldn't be able to keep up such a fast pace for long, though...

Léan noticed this. He doubled back quickly, and then swam under her, holding his arms up above him. He was offering to carry her, so that they could keep up with Betelgeuse--who had no intention of slowing down.

Glory shook her head. She would be alright for a little longer. It was bad enough that she wouldn't be able to pull her own weight on the trip, she wanted to do what she could for as long as possible.

Léan nodded and backed off. He did take her hand, and quietly led her along. He was waiting for her to get tired. He didn't mind helping her out, when she needed it.

Glory let him take her hand, though she didn't want to end up slowing him down. She knew she was going to get tired soon, since she wasn't used to such a hard pace, but until then, she wanted to do what she could.

Betelgeuse was almost out of sight. He moved so quickly...it was clear where Archie got his naturally high speed from. He didn't once glance back.

Léan held onto her hand, and followed Betelgeuse. He moved quickly, pulling her slightly so that she didn't have to do all the work.

Glory held on to his hand, grateful for the help. It was going to take them a while to get there, even at such speeds, and she hoped that they would stop at least once to rest. She definitely wouldn't be able to keep up if they didn't.

Betelgeuse had been moving nearly nonstop on their journey, except to rest. And he only rested two hours at a time, always having to get up and swim around in an antsy sort of way. Now, he came to a halt near some tall rocks, which led up to shallower water...and a deserted, rocky, grassy beach.

Glory was exhausted from the trip, and was glad when they finally slowed down. She'd ended up being pulled along, for the most part, though she still did what she could on her own. All she wanted was to stop and rest for a while...

Léan seemed relieved when his father finally slowed down, and moved into shallower water to avoid being near him. He poked around for a soft spot of sand and curled up with Glory on the ocean floor.

Glory immediately curled up and snuggled closer to him. It wouldn't take her long to fall asleep, at all. She'd get out and explore the area beyond the beach once she'd gotten some sleep.

Betelgeuse, once again, seemed too jumpy to rest. He was up from his resting spot within five minutes, and had wandered out to hunt even though he wasn't really that hungry.

Léan made a face. Archie was always like that--he never wanted to or could sit still to save his life.

Glory wasn't sure how long she slept, only that she was still tired when she woke up. She ached all over, and really hoped that most of the aches would vanish once she got her legs back. She doubted it, though.

Léan gave her a gentle kiss on the neck once he noticed she was awake. He was on alert, and had been every since Betelgeuse returned with a large fish himself. "...Do you want to head up on land now, or...?" he asked, softly.

"I'd love to sleep some more," Glory replied, cuddling with him, "but it's probably best if I can get a feel for the area, maybe get someone to point me in the right direction..." She really didn't want to move, but she made herself get up anyways.

Léan looked like he wanted to protest--if she was tired, she should be able to sleep--but he didn't challenge her. Instead, he stayed put. "I will stay here. And...I will try not to fight with him."

His voice was strained. This was going to be difficult for him, especially if Betelgeuse--as he often did--instigated something.

Leaning up, Glory gave him a kiss.

"Just ignore him," she said. "I know it's not easy, but just act like he's not there. If you want, go explore the area a bit."

Léan grew even more tense. "And let him out of my sight, giving him an opening for a sneak-attack? I'd rather keep him in my line of vision...and keep my distance..." He sighed, closing his eyes. "...Be careful, all right? Be vigilant."
