Viktor eyed it for a long moment. "Looks like some kind of radio collar. Never seen one before, though," he hummed. "You'd be better off taking it to one of the Science or Tech Ed teachers."

"That's what I thought it looked like, too," Glory agreed. "I was going to take it to one of them when I got to the science department later." She slipped it back into her bag. "Apparently, I was the only one who could even touch it without it eating at my skin, so I want to know what it's made of."

"That's a nice thing to imagine before lunch," Viktor joked, stretching his legs out. "Aaahh...if you think it's that serious, you could go now and get it looked at. Just ask for a pass."

"Yeah, it wasn't pretty to look at," Glory agreed. "It can wait till I have Biology class, though, no sense in annoying my teachers before I have a chance to get back into their good graces."

"Yeah, true." Viktor scratched his head, absently. "Not looking forward to this. All I wanna do is go home and sleep..."

"I know how that feels," Glory said. "I haven't gotten a decent night's sleep for a while. I'd love to just sleep in for a while. Maybe all day."

"Sounds like a plan. We don't have anything to do, so we can take a nap now, if you'd like," Viktor offered, yawning and closing his eyes.

"I'm not in the habit of sleeping in school," Glory replied. "You know, I rather like being on the good side of the general faculty."

"We have nothing to do. I sleep in here all the time when I have nothing to do--he doesn't mind," Viktor assured her, jabbing a finger in the teacher's direction. There were several other people taking naps.

"Sorry, still not my thing," Glory said as she worked on her project. "I'll collapse when I get home or something."

"Pffft." Viktor said nothing more, too immersed in falling asleep at the table again to spark conversation. He just wanted to eat and go home.

Rolling her eyes, Glory went back to working on her project. Her day went by slowly, and she only wanted to get through Biology class and then go home again.

When the bell rang, Viktor stumbled out of class. The rest of the day consisted of mostly daydreaming, napping, and eating for him.

Glory managed to get herself through Biology class without falling asleep. After class, she went up to the teacher to get his attention.

"Excuse me," she began, taking out the strange necklace, "I found this on the beach that I live on, and it concerned me... I'm not sure what it is, and I want to make sure it's not affecting the local wildlife. I'm not even sure what it's made of."

The teacher didn't know exactly what it was, though speculated it was a collar. "I'll take a look at it tonight and give you some results tomorrow," he promised.

"Thanks," Glory said. She checked her cell phone for the time. "Sorry, I need to run, I've got to get home. I'll make sure to get that make-up work done by the end of the week." With that, she turned and left, more than ready to go home.

At home, Archie and Eden, who were playing together, were the only ones visible on the beach. It was eerily silent, save for the muffled giggles from Archie and Eden.

Morty was dead asleep inside. His rash looked much better, though it seemed like the water would need to be replaced. It was starting to tint red.

Glory pulled into the driveway, glad to be home. Killing the engine, she got out and went inside with her bag. She could immediately see that the water in the tank needed to be refreshed so she set her bag down and knocked on the glass softly.

"Hey," she said, "wake up for a bit. I need to drain the tank and put fresh water in."

Morty jolted awake, immediately curling up into a defensive position, unaware of his location. When he settled down, he sighed. "I'm awake." He was probably used to staying in Utzi all the time, and not hunting or anything of the sort, due to his reaction to being woken. His bright red tail was not the best camouflage, even in a coral reef.

"Sorry, didn't mean to startle you," Glory apologized. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired," Morty mumbled, simply, before curling up again. He wanted to get back to sleep as soon as possible--waking up had not felt pleasant for him. Keeping a relaxed state seemed to speed up the recovery process.

"I'm pretty sure I can drain and refill the tank without making you move," Glory said. "Unless you want to sit out here while I change the water. Up to you."

"I'd rather not move...I'm so comfortable..." Morty murmured, softly. The angry red rash all over him was slowly fading away. There was going to be a scar on his neck. Unlike Honeydew, he'd had the necklace on for weeks, now.

"Alright," Glory said. She could understand being comfortable enough to not want to move. She wanted to go collapse into bed herself. Examining the tank for a moment, she figured out how to drain it. While it was draining, she went outside to get the hose to fill it back up with fresh water.

Morty whimpered in pain once the water lowered itself below his level. Air hitting the rash still hurt minutely, even though it was fading away. He hoped she would return quickly.
