"The way you're talking about it tells me that it's a big deal," Selena insisted, yawning slightly. "But, okay. Meet me in the parking lot after school, and we can talk then."

"Alright," Glory replied. After a few moments of silence, she added, "Does it make me a bad person if I'm a bit weirded out that my parents are back together?"

"Er. Not if they've been apart for a long time, no," Selena replied, firmly. "You've got a right to be weirded out, then."

"Alright," Glory said. "I've never seen my mother act like she does around him, it's freaky. And it while it bothered me a little before that he's one of them," she put emphasis on the word so that Selena would know who she was talking about, "I kind of have no room to complain anymore."

Selena seemed to understand her implication, at least this time. "He's...oh." Immediately, she seemed very bothered. "But you're not...but he's...oh, what the hell--if I try to question it, I'll only get more confused," she chuckled, scratching her head.

"Oh good, someone with the sense to be utterly baffled," Glory teased. "I was beginning to think everyone would think it was normal." She shook her head a bit. "It's something about genetics and other such complicated things, but for all intents and purposes, I was normal." 'Was' being the keyword.

Selena nodded, scratching her head. "Okay...I'm not going to press the matter. Let's just keep it as is for now, haha. In case my skull explodes."

"Let it sink in," Glory agreed. "It only gets better from there."

"I'll try, I'll try. I don't think it'll get any easier for me, though--you're well aware of how my brain works." Selena stretched slightly. "I've got to get going, before I'm late."

"Right, go on. I need to get to Biology, anyways," Glory said. "See you later." Turning, she headed towards the Science wing, towards her class.

Selena was heading off towards her French class. She loved French, but the teacher was terrible, so she often had to self-teach the material in order to learn and retain it...

As Glory sat through the Biology lesson, she vaguely wondered if her teacher had figured out anything about the odd tracking necklace that she'd shown him. She hoped that he'd at least figured something out about it, though she wasn't really counting on it.

At the end of class, the teacher did indeed approach her. He proceeded, however, to give her a long-winded explanation that ended with 'it's made of a material which is deliberately made to do damage to marine creatures and reacts badly with salt water.'

That much she could have figured out for herself. Regardless, Glory thanked him.

"Is there any way to find out where it came from?" she added, almost as an afterthought?

"I'm not quite sure where it could have come from. Most tracking devices aren't like this. I believe this one might have been homemade, by someone with sinister intentions," the man offered, seeming a bit confident of that.

"Alright," Glory replied. "Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it."

"No problem. See you tomorrow, Glory--I hope you get caught up with everything soon," the man called, as he gathered up his things for the day. He was off to home.

"I'm working on getting caught up," Glory replied as she slung her bag over her shoulder. "All-nighters and coffee." Turning, she headed out to her car. Home sounded good, and she still needed to talk to Selena.

Selena was standing out in the parking lot, apparently waiting for someone to pick her up. She didn't own a car. She was texting, so she didn't notice Glory approaching.

"Hey," Glory greeted. "You look like you need a ride."

"Do I?" Selena grinned. "Surprise, surprise. What you were probably thinking is right. I did meet someone. He's going to be here in a few minutes to pick me up--I asked him to come."

"Then I might just hang around for a few minutes," Glory said, leaning against her car. "I'm still curious. And I never did get around to saying what I was trying to tell you earlier."

"Shoot," Selena encouraged, looking up from her phone. "You tell me what happened, and it'll pass the time until my mystery man arrives."

"Alright," Glory said. "It's weird, I'm going to warn you now. And you don't want to know about the 'how', trust me on that." After taking a moment to think about how to phrase things, she finally decided to just say it. "I can turn into one of them, now. And it's really cool."

Selena gave her a suspicious look--she was suspecting that the 'how' was something inappropriate. "...? That's odd, I guess. I don't think I'd like that. I hate swimming."
