"I don't think I will be able to balance correctly, or walk correctly, while my arm is injured. It serves as a source of balance underwater, and I expect it would be somewhat the same here. A week or so, and I will be able to properly learn how to stand and walk," Léan promised, tightening his grip teasingly.

"It doesn't quite work that way," Glory replied. "It might be what you're used to, but actually, you should be able to balance just fine. You should give it a shot. The worst that can happen is that you overbalance and I have to help you up again." She grinned and kissed him when he tightened his hold on her.

Léan cheerily responded to her kiss for a few moments before breaking away and frowning. "I...would feel more comfortable walking once my arm is healed. But I can try." He shifted a bit to lean against one of the nearby rocks so he wouldn't have to lean on her. "Show me how. The movements, and everything."

"I'll try," Glory replied. "A lot of it is stuff I don't even think about. Standing isn't hard, though. Just try to stay upright. Your body should compensate and balance on it's own." To emphasize her point, she shifted from one foot to the other and then stood on one foot before going back to her normal standing position.

Léan tried several times. He was able to stand for a short period of time, perhaps a few minutes, before he started to lean to the side his broken arm was on and had to catch himself with his good arm. He could not stand on one foot.

"You'll get better at it," Glory said as she let him lean on her.

Léan sighed, relaxing slightly. His legs, not strong yet, were wobbling terribly. "I think I need to lay down," he murmured, sounding exhausted.

"Then let's get inside," Glory said. "We can snuggle in for the night." She helped him inside and into her room.

Léan nodded, clinging to her the entire way in. He shared a look with Morty, who seemed rather startled, and then collapsed on the bed once they were both safely in her room, making sure not to put weight on his injured arm.

Glory gave him a kiss once they were in her room.

"Go ahead and get comfortable," she said. "You look like you could use some sleep."

Léan felt a tad uncomfortable that he had absolutely no clothing to wear at the moment, so he kept the towel wound tightly around his waist. He laid down, still keeping the towel slightly around him, and tried to settle down.

"I still have homework to do," Glory said as she put on some comfortable night clothes, "so I'm going to be awake for a while yet." She also might or might not fall asleep on the couch, she'd have to see. At least the school week was almost over...

Léan tilted his head slightly. "All right. Are you going to be in here?" He felt a little odd staying in her room alone. He couldn't explain it. "I won't distract you. I promise..."

"I don't want to bother you if you're going to be sleeping," Glory pointed out.

"I...probably won't be able to sleep soundly unless you are in here with me," Léan admitted, awkwardly. He didn't know how to explain what he was feeling any better than that.

Glory grinned a bit and gave him another kiss.

"Then let me go out and get my books from the other room and I'll do my homework in here," she said.

Léan smiled, thankful for her understanding. He was glad he wouldn't be completely alone, and that he would have company while he fell asleep.

Going out into the living room, Glory gathered up her computer and textbooks. She didn't have too much left to do, aside from the math packet, but she still wanted to get it done. Once she'd gathered her things, she went back into her bedroom.

Léan was oddly anxious and on-edge until she returned. Being alone in a human bedroom was a little much for him, even after all this time. He smiled and made room for her once she did return.

Glory made herself comfortable on the floor, spreading out her work around her. It wasn't the first time she'd stretched out on the floor to do homework, and it probably wouldn't be the last.

Léan yawned quietly, as he settled down to rest. He was laying on his good arm, so not to disturb his bad arm. It only took him a few minutes to fall asleep.

Glory worked on her homework quietly so she didn't disturb him. She worked for a few more hours before finally finishing and putting her stuff away. She turned off the light, set her cell phone alarm rather than her alarm clock, and snuggled into bed next to him, drifting off to sleep quickly.

Léan didn't wake up when she crawled into bed next to her. He did wake up, with an almost-panicked start, when the alarm went off. He looked around, senses heightened, before he remembered where he was and relaxed.

Glory just groaned a bit when the alarm went off and reached over to turn it off when she remembered that it was her phone instead of her clock. Slipping her hand under her pillow, she turned off the alarm.

"That's my cue to get up," she muttered.

Léan grumbled slightly. He sat up, shaking his head slightly. "I should probably head back into the water, then. I...don't think I'll do well being here on my own." He paused suddenly. "...Do you think I can attend your school, once I learn how to master walking?" he added, curiously.
