"I did explain this to you, Clary," Azilis murmured to her. He hoped she would calm down enough to think clearly. He could understand her anger, but he also knew that when she calmed down, she would probably have a bit of a different opinion. Clarissa, however, was still more than ready to chew Léan out.

"Why didn't you explain it to her?" she demanded, ignoring her mate. Azilis sighed and wrapped his arms around her, steering her away.

"I'll try to talk to her," he said to Léan. "Go and take care of Glory, I'll see what I can do here."

"I have never had a mate before. Do you think all of the specifics are at the forefront of my mind?" Léan shook his head, quietly. "I would have thought that you'd at least register the fact that you will have a grandchild soon...and be happy about that much."

He nodded to Azilis, and then turned tail, heading back towards the house.

Glory was curled up on the couch in her favorite nightshirt and a pair of shorts. She had the TV on, but she wasn't really paying attention to it.

Since Léan didn't have any clothes by him immediately, he just sat next to her in a towel, after he'd dried himself off so that he wasn't sopping wet. "...She should be better once she calms down. Give her time," he said, finally.

"I knew she was going to get mad," Glory said softly. "I knew she was. I have no idea why I'm so upset..." She leaned against him, looking for a bit of comfort.

Léan wrapped his arms around her, tugging her a bit closer, and rested his chin on top of her head. "If I had to guess...I would wager that she is concerned about you...and does not want you to grow up so quickly." He shrugged.

"I don't know why I got so upset about it, though," Glory replied, snuggling closer. "Our fights have never upset me before..."

"...Perhaps...since it is about a topic that is very much important to you?" Léan backpedaled, brow furrowing. He gently pressed his lips against her head, as a means of comfort.

"Maybe..." Glory replied. She stayed cuddled close to him, not sure if she was actually going to start crying or not. Reluctantly, though, she let him go. "You should go put something on..." she murmured.

Léan went a bit pink, and then quickly scurried out of the room. He choose a few comfy articles of clothing and slipped them on before returning. His hair was still damp, and smelled like the ocean...well, he always smelled like the ocean, regardless if he'd taken a bath to get the smell out or not. He sat next to her, sighing softly.

Glory leaned against him again immediately, one of her hands moving to rest gently on her stomach.

Léan leaned against her as well, welcoming her into his embrace. Silently, he trailed one of his hands down and rested it on top of that hand.

"Can't even tell yet," Glory murmured as she rested her head in his shoulder and cuddled closer to him.

Léan chuckled, softly. "I suppose you can keep going to school until it's noticeable...but...keep a close eye on yourself. If they notice, they'll expect a nine-month deal. I am thinking, that since we are technically two different species...we will have a little more than two months. Maybe two and a half, or three. Humans do take nine months, after all...but my kind only takes two..."

"I need to set up the homeschooling regardless," Glory replied. "I'll still only be able to go to school for another two weeks, maybe three."

"True. But you should stay as long as you can." Léan sighed, then glanced up at the ceiling. "I do hope she calms down. How long do you think it will take her to?"

Glory sighed.

"I don't know," she said softly. She snuggled closer to him. "I don't think I've ever gotten her this mad before."

"Well...this has never happened before," Léan consoled, rubbing her shoulder soothingly. "Azilis is not angry. He is working on cooling her down."

"That's something, at least..." Glory said. She relaxed a bit more as he rubbed her shoulder. "It's getting late... We should probably go to bed. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better."

Léan nodded, pleasantly. "...All right, then. We should head off to bed. Perhaps, staying in here would be best for the night, at least while Azilis is keeping your mother underwater..."

"I was thinking the same thing," Glory replied. She reluctantly got up. "Come on. Snuggling in bed sounds good."

Léan rose to his feet, as well. He seemed much more steady on his feet than he had been before. A good sign, since he was also able to walk straight.

Glory gave him a kiss and then turned to go into her room. Snuggling into bed sounded wonderful after earlier. Maybe a good night's sleep was all she needed.

Léan trailed after her into her room, his steps slow but steady. At the very least, he could walk...he didn't even want to think about jogging, or sprinting.

Glory chose the spot closer to the wall, rather than the outside. Just this once, she wanted to be on the inside. It made her feel more secure, somehow. She knew she was probably just stressed out from the argument earlier, but still.
