"I can do that, if you want." Viktor stretched himself out, somewhat glad he didn't have to bother with his cousin--he didn't get along with him. "Not too much work..."

"Lazy," Glory teased. "Note that you never bothered asking why I'm dropping regular school for homeschooling."

"I don't need to know," Viktor retorted, pleasantly. He could be very nosy when he wanted to be...but, it seemed he wasn't interested in the reason. Perhaps he was a bit too occupied with his feeling like utter shit to want to care...

"You really are feeling like shit," Glory said. "You're usually too nosey for your own good."

"Yeah, I guess so...too much stuff right now will make my head spin, so I've been keeping to myself for the past few days, for the most part..." Viktor laid his head on the desk again, but groaned and lifted it again once the bell rang and the day started.

Glory dropped the subject once the bell rang. She hadn't seen Selena walk in, and she didn't see her in the class room, so she took out her phone and texted her under the desk.

not going to be in school much longer... starting homeschool in a few days.

Selena's response seemed much more animated than Viktor's did, which indicated she was not sick.

Really? Why's that? Something to do with, er...your friends?

I would say so, yeah, Glory replied. You skipping or what?

I'm helping Rand move a friend of his out of the state today, Selena replied. The infectious cheeriness could almost be detected in her text. I'll be in late, around the end of the day.

You sound so cheerful, Glory replied, trying to convey a bit of dryness in her tone. Like I said, I'm going to be homeschooled starting in a couple days.

You need help or anything? Rand can lend you some of his old college books for self-study, if you wnat. So Rand was college-aged or more...? A little old for her...

I should be alright as long as you or Viktor drops off my assignments for me, Glory replied. I just can't be going to an actual school for much longer.

All right. Just ask me if you need any help with anything, okay? I've got to go...we have to move more stuff. I'll talk to you later! Selena seemed quite cheery...much better than Viktor. She also seemed to suspect the reason why Glory was leaving school.

I'll let you know, Glory promised. She put her phone away and settled in for class. No sense in getting behind.

Viktor slacked off during class, though he answered correctly if he was called on. He was the type of person who was much more suited for online school, since he self-taught.

The day seemed to drag on for Glory. All she really wanted to do was get back home. She was tired and even a bit irritable, though that was probably because she was pregnant. She sighed and did her best to pay attention.

At the end of the day, Viktor didn't go right home. He stayed after, apparently having detention for being absent too often even though his grades were nearly flawless.

Glory made her way straight out to her car once the day was over. The less time she spent at school, the less time anyone had to figure out just was was going on. She sat in her car for a few minutes before she actually turned it on, letting her temper cool a little. She didn't like most of the people she went to school with on good days, let alone when her hormones were a mess. Once she was calm again, she turned on the car and made her way home.

Léan had just woken up. He'd been in bed all day. He was running a low fever, and was possibly growing ill. Merpeople did not work like humans, so treating them for sickness was a tad different...

Glory noticed he was still in bed when she got back.

"Are you alright?" she asked, concerned. She sat down on the bed next to him. "You don't look so good."

"I'm not feeling very well...I think I just need to eat and lay low for the rest of the day, relaxing..." Léan hummed, closing his eyes.

"Are you sure?" Glory asked. "Because I'm pretty sure it would be really bad if I ended up getting sick too." One of her hands absently went to her stomach as she spoke.

"I'll be all right. I just don't feel well..." Léan curled back up where he was. "Our sickness is different than the sickness of humans...trust me, I will be all right. It's not contagious."

"Alright, I trust you..." Glory said. Going over to her dresser, she pulled out some comfortable clothes and changed into them. Her jeans had been digging into her skin, and it was bothering her. "Only a couple more days," she said. "I don't think I'll be able to hide this any longer than that, not without someone noticing." Her stomach was starting to round out, and she was lucky she'd gotten away with it as long as she had.

Léan sighed, shifting uncomfortably. There was no medical reason for it, but he often felt antsy when he was out of water for long periods of time...more than two weeks, to be precise. He started to get a little restless after a week and half on land.
