"I...want to see if your mother would mind making sure I don't panic when the time comes," Léan admitted, sheepishly. "If I don't have anyone to calm me down, things will not go well for me."

"So go," Glory said. "I'm not sure where she is right now, but I doubt she'll be hard to find."

"Are you sure you will be fine on your own?" Léan asked, hesitantly.

"I should be okay for a little while," Glory replied. It was true enough. Even if she did go into labor while he was gone, she would be alright on her own for the half hour or so he would be away.

"All right..." Léan murmured, softly. He slipped away, out towards the beach. It didn't take him long to strip down and hurry into the water...but it took him a little while to locate Glory's mother.

Glory curled up on the couch, trying to relax. She closed her eyes a bit as she felt a false contraction, but when she found herself gritting her teeth in pain, she realized it wasn't a false one. It was just her luck... The contraction faded fairly quickly, and she settled in to wait for Léan to get back.

Clarissa saw Léan coming closer, and waved to him. She wondered briefly what he wanted. He looked a bit nervous, but that wasn't unusual lately.

Léan shifted slightly, seeming really, really uncomfortable. He took a deep breath, and then explained his dilemma to her. "...Is it possible you could help me out when the time comes?"

Clarissa listened to him, and nodded.

"I can be there to sit with you, if you'd like," she said. She didn't want to miss the birth of her grandchildren, after all, and this gave her an excuse to be there.

Léan nodded, slowly. "...All right. Thank you." He paused. "Perhaps we should go back now. I mean, it could happen at any moment, now..."

Clarissa nodded.

"Just let me tell my mate," she said. Quickly, she went and found Azilis, letting him know what was going on. He understood immediately and ushered her back towards the shore. She let him do so, and went back towards Léan. "Alright," she said, "we can go."

Léan, in a gentlemanly fashion, helped her out of the water and offered her one of the few towels he and Glory kept outside on the rocks. He shuffled inside and towards her bedroom, and peeked in to see how she was doing.

Clarissa followed him into the house. If she was going to stay a while topside, she was going to put on some decent clothing.

Glory was curled up on the bed. One arm was draped over her stomach, and her other hand was twisted in the sheets.

"Back already?" she asked when he came into the room. She thought be would be gone a little while longer, but she was glad he was back.

Léan took one look at her, and a brief silence came over him. As he'd suspected, his knees went wobbly, and he immediately started to drift off into panic.

"...What do I do?" he asked, helplessly.

"They're not going to be here right this minute," Glory pointed out. Even she knew that. She sat up and moved over a bit. "Come sit with me for a little bit?"

Léan glanced back out towards the living room, where he was sure Clarissa still was. She would probably join them momentarily. He kept the door open for that reason and awkwardly shuffled over to her, sitting down with her and taking hold of her hand.

Glory held his hand and leaned against him a bit. Her contractions were still slow, so she figured they still had plenty of time before things really started rolling.

"It's alright," she murmured to him.

"I...don't think it is..." As Léan had suspected, he was already nearly in full-on panic mode. Silently, he was hoping Clarissa would locate them soon before he totally flew off the deep end.

"Calm down," Glory murmured to him. Leaning over, she gave him a kiss. "Here, help me up, I'll go find my mother and let her know what's going on."

Léan shook his head rapidly, standing up. "I'll go and get her...I, er...don't want you moving..." He scurried out of the room, to locate Clarissa.

"I got in here just fine on my own," Glory pointed out. She stayed on the bed, though.

Clarissa saw Léan come out of Glory's room, looking terrified and panicked.

"You look like you're about to have a nervous breakdown," she said.

Of course, this was how Léan reacted to situations he had little to no control in. He pointed towards her bedroom and opened his mouth to say something...but all that came out was a concerned whine, and he promptly shut it.

Clarissa went to the doorway. She already figured out what had Léan so freaked out. It didn't take a genius.

"You doing alright, Glory?" she asked. Glory nodded.

"I'm alright," she said.

"You should put together an overnight bag, just in case," Clarissa said. Glory nodded.

"I thought about it," she replied. "I'll put something together."

Léan was still feeling fussy and fretful. He shuffled over to Glory and sat down next to her, unable to fully sit still. He knew he'd react this way. He knew it.

Glory got up carefully and started to gather some things to pack in an overnight bag. She'd already figured that they would end up heading out to the hospital at some point. She'd only grabbed a few things when she bit her lip and whimpered a bit at a contraction. They were still slow, but they were getting stronger.

Léan immediately stood up with her, helping her to pack. He really didn't want her up and about--his worry-wart-ness coming to light. He became insanely anxious when he started to panic.
