"I will be fine," Léan assured her, nodding and smiling. His current expression could probably be related to waving a white flag. "Have fun."

Glory sighed.

"You don't have to BS me, you know," she said. "I can tell you're not happy. Just hold out until tomorrow morning, alright? She'll be gone then."

Léan grumbled a bit--he didn't like being called out on faking things. But, he nodded, grudgingly. "I'll occupy myself until then..." He glanced up at the sky briefly. It seemed like he was thinking things over carefully in his mind.

"You said you like making things, right?" Glory asked. "Why don't you see what you can put together?"

Léan shifted a bit, then eyed the water. "I'll gather some supplies a little later...I have to think a design over, first..." He seemed to take his jewelry-making seriously, like it was a career aspiration of his.

"Go on, then," Glory replied. "I'm sure you'll be able to think better without me out here distracting you."

Léan gave a faint smile and, like his previous grin, it faded rather quickly. "I will see you later..." He did sound rather sad. He turned without another word and disappeared beneath the water, heading out to deeper water.

Glory watched him go and then headed inside. As soon as she was in the door, she took off her jacket and shoes, mostly out of habit.

"Sorry I took so long," she said to Selena.

Selena was still sitting politely on the couch, resting against the back of it. "It's okay--I don't mind." She purposely kept quiet about what Glory had most likely been doing out on the beach. She didn't want to bring it up, in the least. She wouldn't, however, see it as an issue if Glory brought it up, most likely.

"You could have turned on the TV or something, you know," Glory pointed out. "We get decent channels out here."

"It's okay...I don't watch much TV," she offered, running a hand through her hair. She paused, then went to dig in her backpack for her homework.

"Alright," Glory said. "Where you sleep is up to you. I've been told the couch is comfortable, and I can always gather some cushions to make a bed in my room."

"I think I'll be all right on the couch," Selena assured her, pulling out her history book. She seemed a little calmer than she was when she first walked in.

"Alright," Glory said, "it's up to you." She pulled out her own textbook, biology instead, and started to work as well. "You seem more relaxed," she commented after a few minutes.

Selena nodded, rather slowly. "I'm just glad to be away from my mother for a night...and away from the drama with Viktor, of course..."

"He says that there was nothing between you," Glory said as she worked. "Though he was fairly open about the redhead. Of course, I didn't ask many questions."

Selena sighed. She was currently working on what looked like a complete map of southeastern Asia. "...I gave him a whole lot of hints, but he never seemed to really get it...I mean, it's not like he didn't show interest. He took me on dates. Bought me a bunch of stuff. We even kissed. He can't say there was just nothing..."

"He says that he was never interested, and that nothing happened," Glory said. "I don't know, that's just what he told me. I'm just trying to figure out what's true." And if Selena kept insisting that she was being completely honest, then Glory would know that something was up. Three sides to every story, after all...

Selena hummed. "I've known him for a long, long time. He tends to do that to his exes, and believe me...there are a lot of them. 'Nothing happened. I was never interested. Shoo.' I've seen it before." She shrugged. "It's basically what he does when he's gotten tired of being with someone who doesn't favor open relationships..."

"I wouldn't know," Glory replied. "He was texting that redhead all through shop class, though. I could barely get him to look up from his phone."

"He's an avid texter when he finds someone he's interested in," Selena added, amused, but looking tired. The subject still bothered her, but she was attempting to shove it away.

Glory shrugged.

"Nothing wrong with texting," she said. Absently, she looked through her own phone's address book. "I may need to call a friend of mine later... I need him to come out and take a look at my car, I think the muffler on my car wants to give out soon."

"...If it would save you a costly repair, go for it," Selena agreed, nodding. "I know absolutely nothing about cars. The only interesting fact I know is that there's a donut tire on most cars. And...for some reason, the name 'donut tires' amuses me. I end up thinking of actual giant donuts..."

"Hector owes me a favor, anyways," Glory replied. "He's my usual mechanic. I'm not exactly kind to my hardware, and my car is a junker anyways."

"...So you drive a lemon?" Selena joked, then shook her head, grinning. "Kidding. If you think you're not kind to your car...have you asked Viktor about his driving? He speeds. He's gotten so many speeding tickets ever since he got his license, but he's been able to pay them all off. He got caught with one of his expensive cars going over 115 on the freeway once..."
