"But that doesn't answer my question," Glory stated. "If you don't want to talk about it, just say so. Elsewise, I'll just keep jabbing at it." She shrugged. "Nana says it helps to talk about it, sometimes. But hey, what do I know? Nana's the first one who really listened to me, so I just follow what she says."

Léan grumbled under his breath. "I don't like talking about my personal life, in case that's such a big deal. I am a very private person. If you want to dig so badly, you can talk to my brother, I suppose. I don't like to talk about personal things." He shrugged.

Outside, there were a few loud splashes--half-sounding like something slapping against the rocks. That probably meant Archie had returned.

"Alright, fine, no need to snap at me," Glory said, immediately backing off. She stood up and started to head for the door. "Forgive me for trying to make you feel better. Your brother said he'd be back soon, I should go and check for him." With that, she headed outside to the beach.

Léan heaved a great sigh, feeling quite bad about it, now. He never meant to snap. He simply had issues when it came to discussing personal matters. "I'm sorry..." he mumbled, but he knew she probably wouldn't hear him before she left the house.

Archie was near the shore of the beach, holding a...rather large tuna. It was almost as big as a child. He also had a small net--probably something had had stolen from humans--of other fish. Damon was beside him, smiling.

Archie perked up when she walked out. "Hi! Uh...I think you'll have to drag it," he chuckled sheepishly, heaving the tuna onto the sandy beach. "He'll only want a chunk of it, most likely. You guys can have the rest. It's an enormous fish, after all." The tuna looked dead, but the rest of the fish captured in the net seemed alive.

Glory blinked.

"That's... a really big fish," she finally said. "I've never seen a fish that big." Already, she was mentally going over the contents of the pantry. Rice, vinegar, soy sauce... "Maybe I'll be able to find dried seaweed sheets at the store... Nana can make sushi for dinner. We really don't even need the seaweed..." Blushing slightly, she stopped. "Sorry, I'm rambling." Going over, she tried to pick up the fish.

It was heavier than it looked, but she was able to heave it up and sling it over her shoulder. She shuddered slightly at the texture of its skin against her neck, but ignored it otherwise.

"Thanks," she said to the two. Waving goodbye to them both, she left them to their other fish and hauled the tuna back to the cottage.

"Nana!" she called as she got inside, "I need your help with this!"

"What is it, Glory?" Nana Sue asked as she came into the kitchen. She gasped as she saw the huge fish that Glory had put into the sink.

"We need to dig out the good knives and the rice steamer. I think we're having sushi tonight."

Nana Sue nodded and started bustling about the kitchen, gathering the things she needed to scale and process the tuna. After a few minutes, she shooed Glory out of the kitchen.

"No need for both of us to be in here, Glory," she said cheerfully, brandishing a large knife. "Go and amuse yourself."

"Alright, alright," Glory laughed. "No need to point sharp things at me." Still giggling, she left the kitchen and went down the hall to the bathroom.

"Léan?" she said softly. "How are you feeling?"

"You're welcome!"

With that, Archie and Damon headed back out to the alcove to enjoy their meal.

Léan lifted his head from inside the bathtub. "I am fine," he called, in the process of refilling the tub again. Damn wounds...they wouldn't close up, and they kept minutely bleeding. He often had this problem at sea when he would get injured...his wounds would take forever to close up. He closed his eyes, swaying back and forth a bit.

He felt a little lightheaded from blood loss...

Glory saw him swaying a little, and noticed that he looked pale.

"Maybe you shouldn't refill the tub," she suggested gently. "Maybe your wounds will close up faster if you let them dry." Going over to the sink, she reached underneath it and pulled out a towel. It was an older one, and easily replaced, so she didn't care if it got ruined. Going over to the tub, she turned off the water and let it drain. "I've noticed when I get cuts and stuff, it's best to let them dry so they can scab over." Gently, she started to pat his shoulders dry, and then handed him the towel.

Léan slowly accepted the towel, reluctantly drying himself off and patting at his still-leaking wounds.

"I suppose you may be right..." he sighed, defeated. He wriggled around a little bit to get comfortable, stretching his tail out--when fully stretched, part of it hung off the opposite end of the tub. He'd had it bunched up, so it was nice to stretch it out...

"Nana should be finished making dinner soon... I never realized that whole tuna were such big fish," Glory said. "We're having tuna over rice, so if you want just straight tuna, say so now so I can tell Nana to leave the rice out." She grinned. "Your brother sent a 'get well' fish."

Immediately, Léan's grumpy demeanor vanished, and his tail swished up and down excitedly.

"Ah, Arcturus. Well. Frankly, I'm surprised he even remembered that tuna was my favorite fish," he quipped, eyes glinting. "I have never heard of rice. But I am willing to try it, no less. Send him my thanks the next time you see him."

He seemed quite happy that his brother was thinking of him. Léan seemed to cherish Archie more than anything else in this world.

"I will," Glory said. Absently, she examined her nails, looking at the old, chipped polish on them. Reaching under the sink again, she pulled out the bottle of nail polish remover and some cotton balls to clean off the color. Wrinkling her nose at the smell, she reached over and flipped on the vent fan.

Pink wasn't what she wanted anymore. Maybe a nice deep shade of cobalt, overlaid with pearl... After her nails were clean, she delicately brushed on the first coat of blue color and then waited for it to dry.

Léan watched her, also wrinkling his nose at the smell. He looked completely confused.

"What is the coloring for?" he demanded curiously, brow furrowing. "Does it serve a purpose? To scare away predators, perhaps?" The inhuman side of him made itself prevalent as he spoke this. He really didn't have any idea how humans lived their lives.

Glory shrugged.

"Decoration?" she offered. "Just a bit of something pretty." Brushing one of her nails delicately with a fingertip, she decided it was dry enough and started to apply a second coat. The second coat made the color more even, and got rid of the streaking from the first coat. Soon, all of her fingernails shimmered deep blue, and she brought up one of her feet to start painting her toe nails the same color.

"Decoration?"

Léan raised an eyebrow. Humans painted themselves just to look nice? Why? It puzzled him. He watched her, arms resting on the side of the bathtub, tail swishing a bit.

"That color is lovely," he commented suddenly, absently.

"Thanks," Glory said as she finished with the blue. Once she made sure her fingernails were dry, she carefully opened the bottle of pearl nail polish and brushed one coat over the blue, turning it a shimmering blue-green. After doing the same to her toenails, she put away the nail polish. "There. Now we'll see how long it takes for that to start wearing off." Right then, there was a knock on the door.

"Glory?" Nana Sue's voice said. "Dinner is ready."

"Thanks, Nana," Glory replied, getting up. Quickly, she went to the kitchen, and grinned. Nana Sue had made a lot of sushi, putting little slices of tuna on top of balls of rice

"Help yourself, dear," Nana Sue said.

"Thanks, Nana," Glory replied, putting sushi on two plates. Then she took the plates back into the bathroom, giving one to Léan.

Léan took it slowly, eyeing it. The rice looked strange to him. Almost like little white fish eggs...what on earth was it?

He also eyed his silverware, not sure what it was used for. Despite his 'eyeing' things, he slowly began to eat, making a slight mess on his plate because he wouldn't touch his silverware. He ate contently, tail swishing back and forth slowly. It did seem tuna was his absolute favorite food--and the bigger the tuna, the better.

Eating a piece herself, Glory sighed happily.

"They say raw tuna is an acquired taste," she said, "but I like it. I haven't had proper sushi like this in a long time." Now, if only she could get her hands on shrimp, or octopus... Granted, the two were both cooked, even in sushi, but she missed them all the same. "Maybe I'll ask Nana to make rolls next time... I'll have to go out and get some dried seaweed sheets, though."

Léan kept eating, tail swishing back and forth. "The only sea wildlife I have tried that I did not like...that would be sea anemones. They taste like pure rubber..."

He shuddered at the memory. It had made his stomach upset, as well...never again. He had learned his lesson.

"Anemones? Interesting... Cooked octopus is kind of rubbery, but in a good way," Glory replied. "And eel, I like eel. I don't think I'd ever eat puffer fish, though. I'd rather not risk my life over a bit of fish like that." She knew very well that puffer fish was technically poisonous, and she had no intention of every trying it. "I like squid, too, but I like it deep fried rather than stir-fried or boiled."

Léan nodded, seeming to enjoy the rice as much as the tuna.

He perked up a bit, remembering something. "Oh...I would like to try heading into the water tomorrow..." he revealed.

Glory grinned when she saw how much he was enjoying the rice.

"Alright," she said. "It's your call. How are your cuts doing?"

Léan swallowed a mouthful of food, studying his cuts.

"They are healing, but not as well as one would expect," he added mournfully. "I would like to try, though. I can't very well stay cooped up in your bathtub forever. Plus, I want to see my brother. I will give it a shot."

"Simple fishing line shouldn't have made such bad cuts," Glory mused softly. "I've worked with the stuff before, and it takes a decent amount of force to get it to cut skin. Maybe there was something special about the stuff you got caught in..." She looked up from her thoughts. "I can take out outside now, if you like, unless you want to rest for one more night."

Léan set his plate aside, looking interested.

"It's tempting...but I had better wait until at least morning," he amended, eyeing a few wounds that still looked a little raw. "They should be mostly healed by then..."

"Makes sense," Glory said. "I'll bring you a spare blanket and pillow, then. No sense in making you sleep without bedding again." Getting up, she took both his plate and hers into the kitchen. On her way back, she stopped in the linnen closet and grabbed a pillow and a light blanket.

"Here," she said, going back into the bathroom. "It's up to you if you use them or not, but they're here for you."
