"Sure--I'll run in and get it for you," Selena promised, taking a bite of her cereal after pouring a little extra milk on top of the fruit.

"Thanks," Glory replied. Absently, she turned on the TV and set the channel to one of the saturday morning cartoons, just to have some background noise.

"You're welcome." Selena watched the cartoon with interest. She didn't watch much television, so this was a treat for her, no matter how kiddy it was.

Glory noticed and grinned.

"Welcome to the world of saturday morning cartoons," she teased.

"Thanks--I'm loving it," Selena retorted, grinning in return. "I don't watch a lot of TV. My mother kinda hogs the TV all the time..."

"Well, then I'm glad I can be of assistance," Glory said. "Maybe one of these days I can make you stay up to watch Adult Swim or something."

"Oh, Viktor goes on about that all the time," Selena chuckled. "He says his favorites from that lineup are Robot Chicken and Family Guy?" She sounded like she'd never heard of these before.

"That means he has no taste," Glory scoffed. "I watch Ghost in the Shell and Fullmetal Alchemist, most of the time."

"He's weird. He watches everything on their line-ups and enjoys everything from serious story lines to crude humor...I just don't get it." Selena shrugged.

"Like I said, no taste," Glory said. "I'm not into the crude and stupid-funny things. It makes me feel like my brain cells are melting."

"He's male. He's bound to enjoy stupid-funny things," Selena reasoned, pointedly. "The Y-chromosome tends to have that effect..."

"I guess so," Glory agreed. "I don't think we'll every really understand it."

"I guess not. Viktor's just out there. I don't even know what words I would use to describe him. "Thousand-faced, maybe? He's got so many weird tastes..." Selena noted, thinking.

"My favorite term is 'bizarre', if that helps," Glory suggested. "Then again, LIFE seems to be bizarre lately."

"Yeah, true...I think I might go with 'outlandish' for Viktor. Little pun on his Siberian roots..." Selena joked, finishing up her cereal. "Mm..."

"That works," Glory agreed as she finished her breakfast.

Selena yawned softly, taking her bowl and spoon out to place them in the sink. She wasn't one to just leave things laying around.

Glory did the same, running some water into the dishes to rinse them off.

"Let me know when you're ready to head out," she said.

"I can be ready in about five minutes, if I grab all my stuff and get it together," Selena quipped, yawning again.

"Take your time," Glory reassured. "It's not like I have anywhere else to be today."

Selena nodded, stretching her arms out. "Uuuwwaahhh. That feels better." She checked her cell phone momentarily. "As expected, no calls from mom." She began to respond, at a moderate pace, to a text.

"Nana will probably call to check up on me this afternoon or so," Glory said. "Though she knows I can take care of myself."

"My mother doesn't really care all that much, so..." Selena trailed off, then finished up her text and shoved her phone in her pocket. "I've got to be out of here in the next hour or so. I have a friend's birthday party to go to."

"Alright," Glory said. "You want me to give you a ride back now, so you have time to get ready?"

"Sure, if you don't mind. I'll grab that suitcase for you, too, while we're at it." Selena strolled off to get her backpack, books, and other belongings in order.
