"Just stop paying attention to it," Glory said. "Pretend it isn't there."

Léan ignored the little shark for a few minutes, but it still wouldn't leave him alone. He looked worried--he didn't know what he was going to do about it.

"It's going to take patience," Glory said. "Unless you can somehow talk to it and make it go away..." She shrugged.

Léan chuckled. "I cannot speak to fish." Then, he frowned. "I think this might be a problem." He was attempting to ignore the shark, but it still would not leave.

Glory giggled. "It was just a thought, though I was kind of curious," she said. "Just be patient. I bet if you ignore it long enough, it will leave."

Léan sighed, eyeing the shark. "...I kinda feel bad ignoring it," he admitted, seeming surprised by that fact. "What if we found a way to capture it and take it back with us?"

"Wouldn't it suffocate?" Glory asked. "I'm pretty sure sharks can't breathe air. And wouldn't the cold water back home be bad for it?"

"We could put it in a tank of some sort...and I believe this particular kind of shark can live in warm and cold water..." Léan mused, studying it for a moment. He lifted it slightly out of the water, making sure its gills were still under. "...Yes, I believe I'm correct."

"You just want it as a pet," Glory teased a bit. She trailed off, thinking for a bit. How in the world would they get the shark back home?

Léan was trying to think, as well. "...? A tank, maybe...but...that would prove to be a problem if...it grows." Léan studied the shark, which was about the size of his forearm in length.

"Well... We're in the middle of the Pacific right now, but it's not like we had to cross the whole country... Home is still on the Pacific coast," Glory thought aloud. "If only there was a way for it to find its way there..."

"If only...I don't think it would be able to find its way there on its own..." Léan murmured, sighing afterward. "A tank would be our best bet, but I don't know how we would manage that..."

"I don't have the faintest idea of where to find one, though," Glory said, "or how to get it back home. Even if the tank was durable to withstand the trip home, my car is nowhere big enough to get it back to the beach."

Léan seemed deep in thought for a moment. Then, he perked up. "Viktor's friend...the tall one. I met him while I was able to walk on land...he drives a large truck, a very large truck. Perhaps if you enlisted his help with the shark, this would work out." He meant Curry, of course.

"A pickup would be able to get a tank around," Glory mused. "How would I be able to explain wanting to take a shark home, though?"

Léan frowned. "...Maybe say it's attached to you, and you would feel bad leaving it here? He will probably understand...you just have to get it to follow you for a bit while you explain..."

"That... might just be crazy enough to work," Glory said, floating on her back so she wouldn't have to tread water anymore. She jumped a bit when she felt the shark brush past her.

Léan patted the shark on the back slightly, near the fin, and then nodded at her. "Now...the only challenge here would be getting it to follow you...when I'm not in sight."

Glory shrugged. "Maybe the cosmos will take pity on us and the shark will figure that since you and I spend time together, it could follow me around as well."

"The what?" Léan looked at her like she'd just spoken Latin. Then, he shook his head. "Maybe. I'm not sure. Perhaps we should test this theory of yours out?"

Glory shook her head.

"Never mind, human joke," she said. "Let's hope that my theory pans out. Elsewise, I'm not sure what else we can do."

"Maybe you could try holding it back? It might be too small to have a knee-jerk reaction to bite something that's been friendly to it," Léan offered.

"I blame you entirely if it tries to chew on me," Glory teased. Slowly, she reached out and carefully petted the shark, fully ready to take her hand back if she had to.

The shark fidgeted a bit in the water, but it didn't seem to want to attack. It just wasn't used to being touched. Léan breathed a sigh of relief.

"It's alright, sweetness," Glory murmured, unconsciously treating it like a scared pet. Gently, she kept petting the shark, letting it swim away if it wanted to. She wasn't about to make it stay, after all.
