I'm looking to get something published, but I honestly have no idea where to begin.
What do I do?
Does anyone know?
Or know of a place I can find out?

It depends on what you write.

Where are you in the process of writing (finished, in the middle of it, or haven't even start)? And what are you writing (poems, short stories, or novels)? It makes a difference in the kind of answer you're going to get.

Well, what I do is I go to worthyofpublishing.com

People read your work and comment on it giving advice and such.. and if they think your book is really good, they'll help you publish it :o

Are you talking fiction or nonfiction?

Articles, short stories, poems, novellas, or books?

Adults or children?

It all depends on what you are writing about...

I use Critique Circle for editing and Writer's Market to help with publishing.

lol, Quizilla is where I got started writing. It's not a very good place to begin, so I moved to ff.net and just wrote a bunch of O/cs for a series set in our universe (like harry potter or dracula)

Usually what you do is write out a general synopsis and send it to a publisher (usually multiple publishers), then it's up to them to decide if it's worthy of publishing or not.

If you google book publishing, you can find some good resources and a general rundown of criteria on what you need.
