"What are we doing exactly? I thought you wanted to find them. Running right afterward- that makes no sense! What's going on? I don't get it!" Miyu was sputtering the words while running, attempting to keep up with the man. Her legs were already wanting to give out, mostly because she was too busy being confused to really have the energy to run from using it on that.

He stopped and looked around. "I don't want to find them I want to find what's controlling them. Finding those things is worthless, they're just puppets. There's something called a Systeen Consciousness controlling them. Once we get rid of that all of those things go back to being harmless dummies," he said breathlessly. He rechecked around them and saw nothing out of the ordinary. He breathed,"Those things can't be destroyed unless you melt them. You take their arms off and they keep coming at you. Luckily I think I got here before the full scale invasion."

"Who would want to control this area at all though? Unless... Does this 'systeen consciousness' you mentioned have a wide perimeter? If not, though... What would they really get through invading this village...?"

"no their target isn't the village they just ended up here by accident. They probably wanted a bigger city like New York or Tokyo or some thing," he said scratching his head.

"In this case, more likely Moscow? If it has to be nearby..." She blinked. Russia was a big country, but Moscow was the biggest city she really knew of. "Either way I'm worried... We should hurry and stop it, no?"

"Yes, it won't attack until it fixes its ship is fixed. Wait, Moscow? Am I in Russia? I haven't been to Russia! Well... Not since the wall fell. Anyways yes, I need track it down and the only way to do that is back at my ship, come on," he said turning and walking back out to the street.

"What wall are you even talking about?" She laughed nervously. She'd gone to school and was usually decent with these things- was he foretelling the future? Or had she just forgotten? "Do you really need me for that though? Truly, sir... I don't know what help I'd be."

"Berlin wall? Has that happened yet? Ah never mind. I need you because I can always use an extra pair of hands. Plus if you back out now, you'll never know the conclusion and that will more than likely bother you at least slightly for the rest of your life. It's like putting down an Agatha Christie book half way and never finishing it. Come on it's just down the next alley way," he said walking down the road. He kept a look out for any of the wax dummies.

"Who's Agatha Christie?" Shrugging it off, Miyu laughed a bit. "Oh- the Berlin Wall? I didn't quite know that was in Russia in the first place- then again, I don't always remember what I learned in history class back in grade school. Are you some sort of time traveler? You sound like you've seen lots of things that happened centuries ago- or at least it feels like it!" She kept up more easily, now thinking about more pleasant things to try to control her uprising fears. Of course, he was rather on target with what he'd noted- she would be bothered by it for the rest of her life mostly due to her inept curiosity, though likely a lot more then 'slightly' could ever mean.

"Well, it might have been the other Berlin Wall I saw, can't remember too much has happened since then. Yes I am some sort of time traveler. Been at it for about sixty years. Not important, here it is!" he said stopping in front of a door.

"Is this a new apartment? I don't recall ever seeing it when I came around the bend the other day..." She shrugged it off. Nothing was really normal anymore anyway, was it? "Um... What now?"

He ruffled through his pockets. "No this isn't an apartment, this is my ship. Where did I put that key?" he said. He found hit in his side pocket. He took it out and unlocked the door. "The reason it looks like this is because of the chameleon circuit, it changes the ships appearance so it blends into the environment," he said. He pushed the door open as they entered. The ship in side was giant. One door on the opposite side of the room lead off into other corridors. The ceiling was a large cathedral like ceiling. In the middle of the room was a round control unit with a green lighted cylinder in the center. The professor took off his coat and put it on the coat rack in the corner. "Well what do you think?" he asked Miyu.

"Looks like something you'd see in those neat sci-fi movies they show a lot lately. Sorta reminds me of that special playhouse mom and dad got me as a kid because I'd always been into space and stuff." She walked inside slightly more, looking around with eagerness and strict curiosity. "It's as big as the ol' house, too."

"Oh it's bigger than that. There's the other door over there," he said indicating the door behind him. He began pressing buttons on the console. "Just have to lock on to the psychic feedback, and there we go. I'll follow the signal back to it's source. This will be nice and easy from their. Grab onto some thing cause here we go!" he said flipping a switch. A loud siren noise sounded. After a minute is silenced with a thud. "There we are. Should be just out side," he said, "Let's go say hi."

She hadn't grabbed onto something tightly, but had at least held on lightly to a nearby wall, which seemed to suffice at the time. "Why did we have to hold on again? It's not like we went super, super fast...Is it?" She laughed a bit, shrugging it off- no reason to worry about it at that point. "Are you sure I won't just get in the way?"

"Nah, we're here now might as well see this to the conclusion. Then you can get back to milk and all. Watch your step on the way out looks like the ship has changed again," the Professor said. He opened the door and stepped out of the now cable box shaped ship. He looked around and stepped to the edge of the platform and looked down. "Ah ha, there it is," he said. Below the platform was a large pool of molten plastic. "I seek an audience with the Systeen Consciousness," the Professor proclaimed to the pool.

"Yep, definitely like a sci-fi thing..." Miyu struggled to surpress a giggle, running after him quickly and looking down at the molten liquid of what she dubbed, 'peculiar goo', pooled together. "What the heck is that? It looks like we're at a plastics-shop at a school or something at the oven..."

"That, is the Systeen Consciousness. The brain of those creatures we've seen. They're called Autons. I'm going to try to reason with it," he said to Miyu. He turned back to the pool. A part of it rose up like a face. It growled. The Pofessor look on it. "This is a class 5 planet protected by the Shadow Proclamation, you can't just take it over!"
*roar*
"Look I can help you rebuild your ship. You can leave in peace."
*low growl followed by a loud roar* The professor's face fell sullen.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry but I can't let you take the Earth like that," he said to it. It growled low "There are six billion people on this planet and you expect me to stand by while you and the Autons take it over? Enslave the human race?"
*gurggling*
"No," he said. He took a vial out of his coat and dropped it into the pool. As it fell the Professor turned around and opened the cable box door. "Come on, Miyu, there's nothing left to do here."

Miyu rushed after him, tugging on his arm lightly. "What did you do? What's going to happen now? I'm still so confused! This is all so strange and sudden. Fun and interesting, but still sorta nerve-wrecking too! I don't get it..."

They both entered the ship and the door shut. "That," he began," was a Systeen consciousness. It is a molten pool of plastic that acts as a psychic link to the Autons. I asked it to leave earth and it refused. So I dropped a vial of anti-plastic into the pool. The consciousness will be destroyed. But who are you Miyu? Except for your name I know almost nothing about you," he said putting his coat back on the coat rack and turning to her.

"I'm...me? I really don't know what you're asking in particular, sir. And I know little about you too. I don't even know your first name. All you said was to call you 'the Professor', but isn't a professor a type of job? I've heard teachers and scientists be called that but it's always with a name attached, not just plain..."

"That is my name, the Professor. Sounds like a title and it kind of is but it's what I got. It may surprise you to know that I am not human. But about you, I know your name but how old are you? Where do you come from? Why are you wearing that uniform like... outfit?" he asked curiously.

"If you're not human then what are you? Are you a special time-traveling alien? Or are time-travelers a special race all their own?" Giggling, she smiled to him. "To answer your questions, I'm twenty and uh... Well, I grew up in Moscow if that's what you're asking, but I live in this village now and have no clue where I was born. I wear this uniform because it was from my private college I went to and it's comfortable for me compared to other things."

"Ah ha a college student and a professor. How fitting. Yes I am a time traveling alien. I am a time lord, a race of boring diplomats who would rather debate than act. So a college student, what are you studying? This is how the game works I answer a question you answer a question," he said smiling. He sat in a cushioned chair on one side of the round control unit in the center.

She didn't sit, laughing though. "Ah, so this is a game? I hadn't a clue. Thank you for letting me know. And actually, I finished college recently- that's why I moved here. Not as many people to work with, but I get to know the people better which helps my work as a psychologist. I got through school early..."

She smiled simply her hands lacing together behind her back as she bent her knees for a moment to keep them from getting stiff. She looked to him curiously. "So... Now that the 'Systeen Consciousness' you came for is gone, what are you going to do now, Mister Professor?"
