Welcome to Sexually Deprived for your Freedom.

This thread's sole purpose is to hopefully help other military spouses overcome being apart from our husbands/wives who are temporarily serving overseas by talking with other users who're going through the same thing. There's no real way to prepare yourself for this feeling, no matter how long you've been expecting it to happen.

DISCLAIMER: Crying, whining, and wallowing in self pity are expected in this thread. If that bothers you, please don't bother posting. Don't say I didn't warn you, lol.
DISCLAIMER 2: Please remember not to post private information. No last names, no flight information, nothing specific to give your spouse away. Their safety is everything.

And as the saying goes:
Quote:
If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them.
First post: Welcome and Purpose.
Second post: Questionnaire.
Third post: My answers.

How long have you been with your spouse?
What number deployment is this for you as a couple?
Do you have any children? If so, how old are they?
How are you coping with the deployment?
Do you hear from your spouse regularly?
How long is your spouse deploying for? And what branch is he/she in?

If any one has any suggestions for more questions they'd like answered, please PM me so I can add them here.

For starters, just so there's no confusion later in this thread: I refer to my husband as Zombie and my daughter as Cupcake.

How long have you been with your spouse?
We've been together for a year and seven months, but we've been married for almost nine months.

What number deployment is this for you as a couple?
This is tricky. We were friends before and started getting serious in the middle of his last deployment. Even though he was deployed then and we started dating then, I do not consider that our first. Since we're married now, I consider this one our first.

Do you have any children? If so, how old are they?
Yes. Our daughter, Cupcake (no, that's not her real name), is six months old.

How are you coping with the deployment?
Naturally, I've been taking care of the baby and playing with her. I also dove head first into house work. When she's napping and there's nothing left to clean, I drown in self pity. That's when I'm the weakest. I'm strong for her when she's awake so she doesn't feed off of the negativity, but the moment she's asleep, I allow myself to break down.

Do you hear from your spouse regularly?
He just left yesterday. He texted and called me from the different airports up to a point. I haven't heard from him since falling asleep last night. He said I probably won't hear from him for a day or so. I'm anxiously awaiting news that he made it there safely. I think maybe then I can relax a bit.

How long is your spouse deploying for? And what branch is he/she in?
He's gone for six months and he's in the United States Air Force.

That's kinda odd, lol. Whenever I see or hear "precious", I think of Gollum.

I highly doubt that loving me more than I love you is possible, but I'll let you think so. Don't want to burst any bubbles or anything. :glomp: Put on some chap stick or something! Haha, yeah, I'm pretty hungry too. Only having a salad today didn't cut it. It's too late for me to munch on anything, though.

Hurry up and get your cute tooshy over here so we can go snag some. I'd really like some Checkers, too. You've got my mouth watering over the simple thought of their fries. Mm, tasty.

I don't mind it, lol. Hmm, I forgot about the Raleigh plans. Probably won't be able to go with ya'll there since I have NO IDEA how to get the car seat out and reinstalled in another car (Zombie did all of that) and I really don't want to drive different vehicles. Plus, there's the issue with gas and stuff. I really need to make sure the bills are paid in full this time.

Aw God. I just had one of those moments. I couldn't figure out how we'd have room in my car cus I was thinking about you and Matt sitting in the back of the Jeep with Cupcake. Which, you would of had to do if Zombie were sitting in the front seat with me.

I believe so. Matt might be a little squished, though. Her car seat is in the center of the back seat because that's supposedly the safest spot for babies to be in case of a side impact crash.
