I love the series too. I love the story and the characters are great! What's your favorite book and character? Mine are Ironside and Corny.

Yes, Carzeebear, I just received the first two books of Holly Black's Good Neighbors series. I haven't started reading them due to the fact I am reading another series right now, but they -Are- on my to read list.
Kin is the first book, Kith is the second. I ordered them both through Amazon... ;)

These are three of my favorite books! Holly Black is an excellent writer and her characters feel real and the plots are full of surprises. Kaye, Roiben, Corny, Luis, and Kaye's mother Ellen. <3
A lot of the names sound really cool as well; like Nephamael. o:

Although I've only read the first book, and now working on the second I adore this series! So far Roiben is my favorite out of the characters, but who knows I might find another along the way.

True true, IF you can. I don't know if I pronounce some of them right but I like the sounds of them so I don't really care o:
Corny makes me laugh a lot, he's awesome. xD
I love how Holly Black includes gay characters; I don't see very many books that I have where there are homosexual characters in them.

Yup. All of the characters have realistic flaws and they are aren't perfect, so they are perfectly believable...if that makes any sense...

It makes perfect sense :) and that's exactly why I like her books. You can imagine those characters actually existing.

I loved the Tithe series. I almost stopped reading the first book a couple of times, but I am glad I made it all the way through. I literally closed the book when I saw one of the main character's names was "Corny". I really considered never opening it again, but despite that I kept reading. And Roiben was WELL worth the read. He certainly is a fantasy book character.

I have to say, this is probably my all time favorite series of books. I read Tithe in one sitting, then bugged my mom about it to the point where she went and bought me Valiant maybe on hour or so later. I read this too, in one sitting. Then re-read. Then re-read... Ravus and Val are my favorite characters, what can I say? Ironside was also pretty good, though I didn't read it as fast. Tithe really was a great start though, even if it wasn't my favorite, Rath Roiben Rye is such an interesting character.

Eh, these books were okay. I think that they got a little old pretty quickly, but then again...I've never been a big fan of stories about the fey. I liked the plot twist of the main character not liking the fey prince/king/whatever he was. That made my day.

I think Roiben and Kaye are my favorite characters of the series and I've read it a thousand times at least. I think my favorite book is probably Tithe.
BTW: I've been wondering, how exactly do you pronounce Roiben? Is it ROY-Ben or ROB-in? I pronounce it the first way. Does anyone else?

I adore Tithe. it's my favorite book. I think I've read it at least 20 times lol I know Valiant is being made into a movie by MTV and I'm excited, but I'm worried about the quality and how much stuff they're gonna take out and replace with weird, new stuff. I've been working for 3 years on a Tithe screenplay. I got to chapter five <3
My favorite character is Roiben. he sounds so sexy...
did you know that Nicnevin is in a lot of folklore? she's the mandmaiden to Mab, the real queen of the Unseelie Court. I thought that was kinda cool...

Her Modern Faerie Tail series was really amazing. I bought Tithe on kind of an impulse when I was a freshmen Highschool. I couldn't put the book down. I shared the book with my cousin who fell inlove as well. Valiant, though set slightly different to Tithe was amazing. I've not yet read Ironside, though I do own it.
Has anyone else read her new series? The first book is White Cat.
