A Tragic Death by reporter Lindsey Blitz

Tragedy struck morgue and funeral home owner Dusk Skytun on Saturday, April 17 at 9:47PM. One his way home from a lovely night reception, his pocket vibrated with some news that would forever alter his life. His soon to be wife was killed in a car crash.

She was driving home from her late night shift at Izzy's Saloon, when a large red mustang smacked into her driver-side door. Had Dawn Hearts, age 22, been riding in a car, paramedics said she may have lived. Unfortunately, we all know Miss Heart for her motorcycle obsession. Making a right hand turn at a green arrow, Ms. Hearts was following the law when the red monster came out of nowhere. Failing to stop at a red light as well as speeding charges have been pressed on Reece's senior football player Kenny J. Yates.

Miss Dawn Hearts' calling hours are this Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 to 9PM. It will be a closed casket as the crash has rendered her body unsalvageable. Anyone is open to the event which is happening at Dusk's Funeral Home.

Dawn Hearts was the only child to Mr. and Mrs. Blake and Jennica Hearts. Miss Hearts will be missed and we pray that her decent into heaven is smooth and painless.

Dusk massaged his forehead as he continued to reread the paper. The news just wasn't sinking in. He kept thinking she would be back. She had to be back. There wedding was that following week.

CHING!

Dusk's attention shifted to the door. His heart raced as he prayed that Dawn would walk through that door.

He went pale again as another woman walked in. Not ready to give up hope yet, Dusk called the waiter over. "More please."

"But sir, you've hard all you're allow...."

Dusk grabbed at the young male's tie. "I said, I more please."

"Y-y-yes sir." The waiter moved to the bar and filled another glass full of their finest vodka. He winced as he saw Dusk down the shot glass without flinching or squirming. "Can I get you anything else?"

"Yeah, another beer." He lifted the now empty shot glass to his head. It was cold, but it felt heavenly on his sweaty forehead.

"Here you go," the male walked back over to his boss. "Sir, I think... it's better that we watch him than let him go off alone. Remember last year after their terrible break off? He was going to shoot himself. We can't let him out of our sights."

"Yeah, you keep an eye on him. Oh, hey girl!" The manager smiled at the chick that walked in. "Sorry, looks like Dusk stole your booth today. You can sit here...."

Dusk's cold gaze shut the manager up and set him away to another customer. Moaning, Dusk slowly sipped at his beer. He wanted to die. But he just couldn't muster up the strength to accurately admit that she, his one true love, was gone.

"thats alright but he might regret it"Shinku told the manger as she sat down to where the manger told her where she could.Shinku was pestured by the young man who had taken her booth.Shinku had a cold scent lingering around her wherever she went.her long fingernails tapped onto the bar counter as her other hand was on her right cheek as nearly her whole body except for her face had a few bad looking bruises"i'll have a glass of red wine"Shinku said in a cold tone like she also had a bad day though she wasn't nearly as devistated as Dusk was she was only perplexed.

"I'm heading out," Dusk said grabbing his leather jacket. "I'll be back tomorrow to pay. I seemed to have left my wallet at Daw... place." His eyes were red from all his crying. He looked like he'd been to hell and back. He was always a pale fellow, but he was paler now that ever.

Gulping off the last bit of beer, he shoved his way out the door.

"Shinku," the young waiter came over to her, "I know you're not having a good day today. But... my girlfriend is going to the hospital right now so I can't look after Dusk. Would you mind... watching him? I'll pay you in a month's worth of wine. Please," he rushed out the door and took off toward the hospital.

Dusk, who was utterly confused by his friend's odd behavior, decided to walk in the same direction. Only, he wasn't going to the hospital. No, he was going to Dawn's place. He was going to be moving into her country cottage, but, upon her death, all the contracts were canceled.

"sure"Shinku said as she took one sip of her wine as she was feeling a bit bitter toward keeping an eye on Dusk.She began to approuch Dusk as stood behind him."hey there looks like i have to babysit you"Shinku said with a smirk as she knew this wasn't going to be fun or even easy in the least bit since he looked devistated."a friend asked me to look after you so i wont leave if you tell me to"Shinku said in a cold hearted tone "and plus you sure don't look like you should be alone"

Dusk burst out laughing. "I don't suppose you know me too well then, do you?" His voice matched hers. It was dark and cold. "But what's it matter. If you must follow me, I'm not going to argue." With his hands in the air to say 'I surrender,' he walked off down the dark poorly light street.

Once beside the stop sign, Dusk took a step forward, but a blinding light froze him in his tracks. Unlike most people, Dusk had a great concept of perception and depth, so the car whooshed past him, just hardly touching him. The rush sent a smile to his ghostly face. "Well, I suggest you pay better attention than I. I wouldn't want you dead now too."

Moving across the black road, Dusk scratched his head. "I guess I don't know where I'm going." He paused and looked down at his black combat boots. "You have any place in mind?"

Personality: Ummmm, I think it's safe to say he's not the nicest guy you could meet. He's rough around the edges and can be rather rude. But, he is mature! As a matter of fact, he owns his own morgue and is doing extremely well. People often complement how 'splendid of a job this fine young male does.' Too bad they don't know the real Dusk. He's a bad ass to the bone and doesn't care what people think of him. He's aggressive and very assertive. He loves to start fights as well as finish them. However, Dusk does have a soft side. When working with the dead, he treats them with extreme sincerity and kindness. Dusk is also a death whisperer, meaning he can see ghosts.
History: Dusk just ended a vary serious relationship and has been having a hard time coping without her. But, Dusk's been a loner just about all his life aside from his better, other half - his twin brother Jacoby.

Bio:Shinku at the age of 6 died in an accident,the accident was unknown there was no possible survivors.when the doctors came to get there bodies one doctor had been a vampire and bit her in order so she would live because she was too young to die and saved her life.she can spot people's weaknesses very easily she doesn't know any of her family or past all she knows is that after the accident,she was turned into a vampire and she lived at an orphanage until the age she is now.Most people want Shinku either dead or to torture her in the most unimaginable disgusting ways the reason for that is probably because she is a tough woman and because she is a vampire.

"I don't want you dead." Dusk flashed her a grin. "But then again, if you did die, I'd make money off of you. You know, the more I think about my business, the more I realize I'm a sketchy man. I mean, I cut open dead body. Play with them. Sew them back up. Dress them up. Make them look great. Then I bury them."

His eyes were now a deep golden color as he looked at her. "I pretty much screw the dead. Only, I use my hands and other cold tools." He smirked. "I make a living off of people dying. It's ironic, isn't it? People pay me to bury a body. It's like reverse sex. Only, not."

Crossing his arms, he looked left then right. "I know a sick club downtown. They serve green drinks. They are rather... impressive. But if you get mugged, I ain't saving your ass. A dead body means the less I'm in debt." Smirking, he waited for the female's response.

"great to know that you would have me dead for the money"Shinku spoke in a cold voice As she heard that dusk knew a club downtown she wanted to go there and blow off some steam from what happened to her with all the bruises all over her body that she got today."let's go to wherever this club is i need steam to blow off from all these damn bruises i got"Shinku said as she clentched her hands into fists."i wouldn't want you to save me i can take care of myself..i've delt with worse situations..getting mugged is one of my least concerns"Shinku said with a smirk

"Very well then," he said walking away. I honestly don't like you. You remind me too much of my Dawn. Only, you're bitter where she was sweet. His eyes were focused on the sidewalk that he was on. It was an off gray compared to the rest of the black world.

Stepping over a crack, he finally spoke. "So, what did you do today to get those scars on you? Did you tell someone they were ugly?" He smiled as he recalled the day Dawn came home with a broken arm for calling a guy 'a fat ugly pervert.'

As Shinku Walked Beside him she really didn't want to tell him because she was actually scared of what could've happened to her."lets just say that i was sexually abused "Shinku said as her expression was emotionless as her eyes flared like fire."though my life doesn't concern you"Shinku said as she had a lot more brutal scars that were on her body that she was covering up underneath her clothing and with a bit help by make up."someone probably told him to do so since im a defenseless woman"She said with a laugh."though of course the situation i was in with him i couldn't really move at all im lucky to have even escaped"

As Shinku's long hair blew along as did the blind she placed her hands behind her back as one of her hands as her index finger lightly followed the trace of the scar as she touched the scar on her wrist "though its not like i could've said hey stop and he would stop because he wouldn't even if i said anything"Shinku said in a bit sadful tone."he did it because he got bored and did this to make things a bit more interesting"

"Men like that disgust me. I was raised and taught to teach women with the utmost respect. Women are seen as goddesses in my family." Dusk's eyes deviated from their typical path and were now eying her. "But I would not call you weak. Hell, I know better than to pick a fight with someone of your build. But, it might also be my upraising. I've never hit a woman in my life, and I never will."

His gold eyes smiled as they walked into a well lit portion of town. "We're nearly there," he assured her. "Oh, and for your own safety as well as my own, we're on a date. If you want into that place single, you're raped." He looked at her face once again. "I'm not trying to 'bust a move on you,' I'm just warning you. We don't have to hold hands, nor do I want to. But, we'll just go in together and leave together. Sit together too. They'll leave us be. But feel free to dance around with whomever you want. I'm only going to see my friend Crim."

"im glad you see it that way"Shinku said as she still made no eye contact."alright i'll probably just drink a lot"Shinku said with a laugh as the person who abused her kept appearing in her mind. damn it forget him...why can't i just forget it she thought as she bit her lip a bit.

As Shinku couldn't stop remembering that whole scene with him she remembered after he did all of that to her that he couldn't stop laughing he was laughing uncontrolibly."he wanted to see me in pain didn't he?"She whispered to herself as she walked alongside Dusk and began to ignore the scene going on in her head. Focus Shinku if you keep getting distracted you'll probably end up doing something reckless

"Ha ha. Good. I was going to be drinking a lot too." He rounded a corner and pointed up to the sin. "That's where we're heading."

Something caught his attention. "He wanted to see me in pain, didn't he?" Dusk stopped in front of the girl. "Who wanted to see you in pain? I haven't?" Cocking his head, he gave her a rather confused and slightly upset look. He was trying to be concerned, but he just couldn't stay focused. He was still mourning the loss of his love. So much for babysitting me. It looks like I'll be the babysitter.

"ah i see looks rather interesting"Shinku said as she put her hands behind the back of her head as she walked.she stopped for a moment as he heard her whisper that phrase about that man wanted to see her in pain."im just in my own world at the moment it doesn't concern you in the least bit just like how your life doesn't concern me"Shinku said in a cold hearted tone as her skin was very unsually pale.

i kill that damn bastard who abused me...and that i swear and i wont hold back on him... Shinku thought as she kept walking with her hands on the back of her head as her long black boots made a clack noise whenever she walked as her red and yellow chinese dress blew in the wind as did her long hair i would never suck that man's blood if i did i would want to die

Dusk held up his hands. "Okay, okay. My bad. I'll leave the 'touchy feely' topics alone." He grabbed at the door, pulling it open he bowed allowing her to entire first. "Lady's first." He said with a sarcastic smirk. "Or are you a man?" His eyes teased as did his tone. "You seem to like to play the roll of the tough guy, so I wouldn't want to insult you by calling you a lady if you don't actually see yourself as one."

"of course im a woman you idiot"Shinku said as she entered the inside of the club and saw how packed it was. looks like this is one very popular club

Shinku thought as she put her hands on her hips walking toward the bar."may i have a glass of red wine"Shinku asked the bartender as the bartender nodded and grabbed a glass pouring red wine into the glass and handing it to her as she sipped the wine.


that sure is good wine.. shinku thought as she smirked a bit."you have a very wise choice in wine"Shinku complemented as she took out her phone reading the past emails she gotten since she last checked though the emails she had got wern't the nicest."hmph looks like now he's trying to get me back..."its too late now..i need to get my things out of his apartment...

"Oh?" Dusk laid down a wad of money. "I'll be paying for the two of us," he said to the bartender. "Anyways, he's trying to get your back?" Dusk sipped at the beer he was handed. "Would you... like me to accompany you?" His golden eyes smiled at her. "I'm not saying you couldn't handle the bastard by yourself, but I'm sure I could help move out your stuff. I own a truck and all. So... if you're interested, I'd be happy to help you move out."

Sipping, he added, "But on one condition. You have to help me clear out my stuff from Dawn's place." Looking away he seemed to hide the tears that filled his eyes. "You could say... I'm afraid to go there."

"thanks i would rather like that...i'll have to leave right after the club though sorry for such a short notice"Shinku said before she took one last sip of her wine before asking for more."i'll help you move your stuff out of Dawn's place"Shinku said in a bit of a gentle tone though she had no idea who this dawn was though she felt it wasn't any of her business.As The bartender poored more wine for Shinku.

Shinku's face turned a bit serious as she and her thoughts were thinking alone not thinking of anyone but her ex. why the hell would he want me back...unless he's setting up a trap..that means we should wait and enjoy ourselves here before going to his apartment that would be best i don't want to endanger him at all "that reminds me,my name is Shinku,we haven't introduce each other have we?if we have then i forgot then"Shinku said with a bit of a nudge with her elbow to his shoulder a bit

"Ha. I'm Dusk Skytun." He clanked his glass on hers. "And you have yourself a partner." Smiling, the male sipped from his glass.

Exhaling, he looked about the club. "I don't know any of these people. Never really did. I just like their drinks." He laughed as he saw a hefty male approach them. "Sorry punk, but she's mine." Dusk put his arm around Shinku." His cold eyes practically scared the male away. "Ugh, I hate guys like him. They give us real men a bad rep."

Dusk smiled at Shinku. "Hey, is something wrong?" He cocked his head at her. "You seem... lost in thought."

Shinku slightly smiled a bit when Dusk had clanked his glass against hers.Though when Dusk asked what was wrong she woke up from her trance that she was in with her thoughts"s-sorry i got a bit distracted.." Shinku said as it was very much unlike Shinku to be distracted like this.She clentched her other hand into a fist as she couldn't stop remembing the pain her Ex always causes her whenever she wanted to apoligize for her behavior or and bad moodswings.

Shinku sighed as she layed her head onto the counter as she now wasn't in the mood to drink wine but was craving to drink blood i need to resist the temptation...i can't just bite someone or else i'll just end up loosing control

Dusk's brows furrowed some. Her behavior was truly odd. Smiling, he gently stroked her hair. God did this woman remind him of his Dawn. Only, this woman had to endure so much more. She was stronger. Tougher. More... perplexing and a challenge than his Dawn.

Twisting his glass in his hand, he looked at her again. "You remind me of my brother. I have a lot of them, so I guess I should specify that you remind me of my youngest brother Rroy. Whenever life was trying to ruin his life, he would mope just as you are now. He was always one to say, 'no matter what life wants to do to me, I shall and will always prove it wrong.' I'm not sure what's eating at you, but, if you want to prove the world wrong, find your inner strength and prepare for a battle. It might be hard, but, within time, you'll finally be free. Finally able to smile and be whole again."

At this point, he was always talking to himself. Grieving over Dawn was all her really wanted, but he knew he couldn't do that forever. Like Rroy said, he needed to prove himself wrong.

When Shinku heard Dusk's speech about what his brother said she knew that she basically could never be free though she didn't say anything about not being free."i'll try that then"Shinku said with a smile as she was feeling a bit exhausted.

i feel so tired and my body is soar... Shinku told herself within her head as she drank the last of her wine then stretched a bit like a house cat."im so exhausted"Shinku said with a chuckle.

"Well what kind of man would I be if I didn't bring you back home." With that, Dusk finished off his glass. Standing, he scooped the female up into his arms. Pushing past the crowd of people, Dusk finally made it outside. Once in the cool air, he set Shinku down.

"So, where are we off to? Better yet, where are you staying? I'll walk you home." With a small smile on his face, Dusk was giving it his all to put his problems away. Yes, he was sad, but so was this female. He was a little annoyed that she paid no attention to his feelings, but he didn't really mind. She was keeping him company.

Looking about, his eyes glimmered in the light cast by the lamps. "If you need a place to crash, you can sleep in my room. I'll just stay on the couch. Oh, and I just did laundry this morning, so it's all clean."

"well we can go move my stuff out of my ex's place now but i don't want to make you do anything for me that would stress you out...i usually stress a lot of people out since a lot people wished i was dead"Shinku said as she really didn't have a place to stay since her ex's place she shared with."but since i really don't have a place to stay would it be ok if i stayed with you?"

Shinku asked as she tilted her head looking at Dusk as her eyes though were quite pale.

"Sure, want to stop by your ex's place? That way you can get some clothes and other things? Or do you want to walk back to my place? I have a truck. I can drive it and we can get all your stuff tonight. I actually was going to rent the other half of my place, so, if you're interested, you can live there until you get back on your own two feet." Dusk's eyes shifted to a male approaching them. "Well, well, well... if it isn't you!"

A man walked over to them. "Brother, how are you doing?" The man embraced him. "Hey, do you want a ride back home?" Smiling at his brother, he couldn't help but give the girl an odd look. "Hmmm, you look like you were in a fight just recently. Would you like me to look the wounds over? I'll assume you're a friend of my brother, so it will be nothing." Smiling, the man extended his hand to offer the girl his business card. "I'm Deks Skytun, by the way."

"Deks is one of my younger more... successful brothers. He's a surgeon. And one hell of a good one too." Smiling, Dusk looked over at Shinku. "Do you mind getting a ride from him?"
