Ebony wasn't too keen on the institution of slavery. Not, not at all.

But, he had just ventured out on his own, away from his homeland. He had very little money and no sense of companionship. Companionship was something his species needed...something they craved. He'd heard of some of his own kind dying of isolation...years of being without companionship.

Now, Ebony was older than he looked. Much older. But, he retained the body of an eighteen year-old on the outside. But, he'd gone a few years now without companionship. He'd left his parents when he was small, in the forest area he had lived in. He'd lived alone...wandered. Not once did he find a permanent home. He came to think his own species kinda wasn't fond of him. So, he fled out into more...urban areas. Human settlements.

Of course, inhuman creatures also lived in these settlements, as he knew--creatures that were part animal in some way, like himself. He was curious to see what he could find. He didn't plan on purchasing a slave, per se, with the little amount of human money he'd scrounged up. He wanted a companion.

Slowly, Ebony strolled down the more shady streets, where the slave markets were. He was glancing around, aimlessly. He wanted something or someone to catch his attention somehow...

Damion's chain was pulled as he tried to scratch one of the on lookers. "I'm not a freak show you." Before he could finish his statement the chain pulled harder making him fall on his butt. "Damn." He whispered out. The cage was an old and rusty the type that if you get a cut you would need ten tetnis shots. He didn't care though. He hated this world.

Sighing the slave master pulled the chain once more. "You have to let me sell you or you stay like this forever." He said pointing to the cage.

Damion hissed slightly. No one would ever make him their pet...he was sure of it. Just because he is part cat means nothing. He shook his long blue hair and glared out at the crowd with his piercing red eyes. The bells jingling on his ears annoyed him more and more. He tried taking the earrings out but got hit with a whip. "Keep them in." The master said now completely pissing the neko off more.

He was now in no shirt and ripped up jeans with shoes as thin as socks on. He hated having anything on his feet. It made him feel trapt for some reason.

Well...so much for his excellent sense of direction.

Ebony was lost. The dark, winding, crowded streets had completely confused him, and now he didn't know what street he was on or what slaves were being sold here. He didn't seem to mind the stares humans gave him for his fluffy, wolfish ears and tail--he couldn't care less what others thought of him, unless he reached that desperation point of isolation.

He stopped almost directly in front of an old, rusty cage, too irritated at himself for getting lost to take notice of whomever, or whatever, was inside. He sure wished someone would help him out--he looked around, puzzled. Why the hell didn't he bring a map...?

A man with fluffy wolf tail and ears stopped in front of his cage. What caught Damions eye was the almost purplish hair. "Hey buddy wanna help me?" He whispered as he saw that his so call "MASTER" was busy selling other slaves...that were in actually nice cages... That pissed him off but he didn't care. "Pssst can you get me out of here please?" He asked almost ready for the puppy dog eyes.

Ebony, who had been distracted, looking around, jumped. He turned to chastise the one who startled him, but then he noticed it was a cat-boy...a neko, if he remembered correctly. He was inside the cage he'd stopped in front of.

Ebony's tail swished back and forth with both interest and dislike. He naturally had a dislike for cats, but this one seemed to be friendly. Perhaps something could be worked out?

"I need a companion," Ebony replied airily, scratching his neck absently. "So if I help you in any way, you'll have to stay with me." He paused, then looked around for a price tag on the cage. He wasn't familiar with human language, but he knew numbers, at least. "How...much for you?"

Sighing Damion looked over at the seller...his "MASTER" He scratched him. "How much do you plan to sell me for?" He asked...the Man sat there for a moment thinking. "300 dollars no refund...your not worth a thousand." Hissing at him he turned to the wolf man. "Three Hundred Dollars no refund. Apparently I am on sale." he said rather venomously. He flipped his baby blue hair out of the way making those stupid bells ring. He lifted his hand up and muffled a bell while taking the earring off and did the same for the other now happy. He slipped his hand in one of the pockets pulling out two metallic black small hoops and put them in.

He was now content and his white tail swung now. He purred slightly not meaning to which made him blush. Twitching his ears as he heard his so called "MASTER" come to the cage and talk to the wolf man. "I don't think you will want him. He doesn't do well with orders. But he is currently only 300 dollars." His voice came out crisp and raspy. Annoying Damion to no end. He hated that voice with a passion.

Ebony frowned and dug around in his pockets. He only had 289, but he'd been pickpocketing humans all day long, and he'd acquired a few pieces of jewelry, as well. He held out the slightly crumpled money to the man.

"I'm twenty dollars short. But what if I give you these, too?" He offered, pulling out a bunch of bracelets and earrings. Some looked like they had value, and certainly enough to make up for the lack of twenty dollars.

"I don't plan on ordering him around." There was a venomous tone to his voice. He wasn't fond of slavery, so the very thought made him sick to his stomach. "As long as he stays with me, there won't be a problem." Ebony didn't miss the blush on the neko's face. He found it, offhandedly, quite adorable.

The man let Damion out of his cage and took him off the chain and kept the color. He pushed Damion towards Ebony making the cat hug the wolf. "DAMN YOU I HOPE YOU DIE IN A FUCKING DITCH!" He said with his hair on his tail and ears sticking straight up. He hadn't really noticed he was hugging the wolf man and when he did he let go quickly blushing deeply. "Ehm...sorry... I'm Damion...Damion Drago by the way." He said with his red hard eyes looking at the ground.

He pulled the slipper things off his feet and sighed. "Ah much better!" He chuckled at this and looked at the wolf man. "So what now?" He asked.

The man let Damion out of his cage and took him off the chain and kept the color. He pushed Damion towards Ebony making the cat hug the wolf. "DAMN YOU I HOPE YOU DIE IN A FUCKING DITCH!" He said with his hair on his tail and ears sticking straight up. He hadn't really noticed he was hugging the wolf man and when he did he let go quickly blushing deeply. "Ehm...sorry... I'm Damion...Damion Drago by the way." He said with his red hard eyes looking at the ground.

He pulled the slipper things off his feet and sighed. "Ah much better!" He chuckled at this and looked at the wolf man. "So what now?" He asked.

Ebony handed over the money and the jewelry--though he kept the most beautiful piece he'd found in his pocket. Almost at once, he felt pressure against him, and it took him a moment to realize the 'merchant' of sorts had pushed the neko to him, in turn making him hug him.

Having lived in a wild pack of werewolves for so long, Ebony was far too used to close contact to be bothered by this. Instead, he slowly went to hug him back. He didn't get a chance to, however, as Damion pulled away and introduced himself.

"I'm...Ebony. Ebony Davis. I don't live here...or anywhere, really. I used to live in the forest nearby. But I left my family's pack, so I've just been living there alone, in any shelter I can find. If it's too much of a bother for you, I can try to relocate my family's pack...they have constant shelter."

Damion looked at the man he now knew as Ebony. "Well Ebony if you have a place with a waterfall and a cave I am set!" He stuck up a thumbs up and smiled like a wild cat. He laughed and pounced over to the wolf man again. "Really I'm being serious!" He smiled as he poked Ebony. He laughed and poked again. "Your not squishy like most people!" He was so amazingly glad he was out of that cramped cage.

Ebony could see that Damion was happy to be out of that cage, and in turn, that made him happy. If only he had all the money in the world...he'd find a way to free every single slave in this world...but, unfortunately, he didn't have a lot of human money, so he had to be content with freeing just one.

"Waterfall...there's a waterfall near where my parents' pack usually roams..." Ebony mused, grinning, as he poked him back, and playfully poked at his ears. "They've got a giant pack, so they've got a lot of free space. Their dens aren't even dens. They're like stone houses. That's how I remember it...I left when I was little, and I visit every year...to see my little sister. I can rejoin if I have a talk with my parents...they're the alphas. But..."

He studied Damion, ears flattening a bit. "I'll have to convince them that there's a good reason they and the members of the pack should refrain from attacking you. Our kind doesn't like cats, nekos, or even catlike animals...my parents' pack used to attack them all the time. Kill on sight kind of thing...simply claiming that you're my companion would not convince them..." He furrowed his brow, deep in thought, and his tail swished back and forth.

Damion's ear's fell back. "Why kill us kitties?" He didn't understand fights, wars, or anything else extremely violent. He did know he liked the look, feel, taste, smell, and color of blood but he didn't like it to be shed without reason. "I lived in a tiny hut inside a cave behind a waterfall growing up. It was beautiful. Now back on topic...what do you have in mind?" A passer by pushed him into Ebony making him cling onto him again. "C..c...can we pl...please l..leave this place?" His hair was stuck up completely and he had no intention of letting go of Ebony. Crowds scared him. The noises made his ears want to bleed literally.

Ebony growled in a low, feral way at the man who had 'bumped' into Damion. The poor man, startled, went pale when he turned around to check and quickly fled in a different direction. He wrapped an arm around Damion's waist, shifting him so they were side to side, and started to weave his way back out of the crowd, sniffing around a bit. Surely he could smell the difference between this human settlement and the beginnings of the forest...at least...he hoped he could.

"You don't have to panic with me around," Ebony soothed as they walked, keeping an arm around him. He brought his free arm up to pat him on the shoulder in a comforting manner. "Crowds are just irritating. It's not like I'll let them hurt you."

Ebony sighed, scratching his head. "They just...it's a natural thing for us to dislike felines. Mind you, I tend to stray away from this 'natural rivalry' stuff. But they're a bit more...wild...than I am. So they're bound to still dislike felines. I...well, I'm not sure what to do. I would have to convince them there's a valid reason why they should tolerate you in their home. I'm not sure how to do that..."

Damion smiled but it was childish and it turned into a pout as yet another person bumped into him making him hug Ebony's waist even tighter. "Sorry I just want to get to the Forest right now...I still hate crowds." He looked up at Ebony blushing. "But I swear I'm not a bad kitty..." He paused. "At least in that way." He whispered out afterwards.

"Do you want me to carry you?" Ebony asked, raising an eyebrow. "That would keep others from bumping into you." He was strong, and he could very well carry someone his own size or even bigger in his arms, for a while.

"I...I could tell them you are my close friend, but then my parents would make us answer questions about each other, to make sure. I could try to just convince them, without any valid reason, to leave you alone, of course. Or..."

He pause, then coughed, a bit of pink flushing his cheeks before it left, as suddenly as it had come. "The only other option is to try and convince them that you are my lover. They would leave you alone, then. But they require...proof...just as they would with the close friend option..."

Damion looked up at him. Aww he is cute when he blushes =3' Sighing he nodded. "Yes I would like that very much so but you would get looks." He said as he yawned his fangs showing slightly. "And it's what you want to do Ebony..." He blushed. Ears twitching he hugged the front of Ebony a few seconds later a cart rolled past almost running people over. Damion would have been one. Looking up at Ebony he smiled up at him now noticing Ebony was a head taller than him.

Ebony shrugged, and he scooped Damion up into his arms, securely. He used to be one of the most powerful males of his kind...at least in his area. With a little work, he could tear down a large tree by himself, roots and all.

He didn't seem to mind the stares he got as he held him, heading out towards the forest. "I...I suppose we could do that. Pretend to be lovers. But it has to be convincing and constant acting..." Being oh so dense, Ebony left out the possibility that it didn't have to be acting. When it came to seduction, he could be a real imbecile unless he was paying close attention to the actions of the one attempting to seduce him.

Damion snuggled up to Ebony. "I don't mind" He said now in a complete days. Ebony smelled rather nice. Like a comforting smell. Smiling Damion looked up. "Do you like me that much already?" He asked blushing slightly but still smiling. His ear twitched slightly and his tail started to swing around. "I like it out here." He said noticing they were already on the outskirts of town and there was a significantly less amount of people around. He looked around noticing that a few people stared but kept on walking.

Ebony stared, then coughed a bit, grinning sheepishly, his face a bit red. "Uh. So far, yeah, as a friend. If you're talking about more than that, I'm afraid it takes a bit longer for me...I've never been attracted to anyone in my life, ever, so it's a bit difficult for me to consider it..."

He wouldn't say it, but he did see Damion as quite adorable and as a possible lover, but he was a bit too dense and uncertain when it came to attraction, seeing as he had never felt it before...so, he didn't fully recognize what it was.

Soon, after a bit of walking, Ebony reached a line of trees, and after slipping inside them, he set Damion down...so his feet would meet soft grass. The expanse of the forested area sprawled out before them. It already looked dense from this distance.

Smiling Damion ran around in a circle for a second then jumped in a tree. "This is so nice it reminds me of my old home!" He laughed as he jumped from tree to tree then jumped on the soft grass and ran back to Ebony. "So what now?" He asked completely and utterly happy now. Smiling he hugged Ebony "Thank you!" He didn't let go just yet. He rather liked holding onto the wolf man.

This time, Ebony had a chance to return the hug. Damion was rather soft and warm--in all honesty, it had been a while since he'd hugged someone around his own size. He'd only recently hugged his little sister, whom he dwarfed completley.

"Well...I guess, if you want that nice shelter and the waterfall, we could head to where my parents' pack is. But we'd, uh...the best method to gain their trust and make them not want to kill you would be us acting like lovers. Whenever someone from the pack is watching..."

"And how would we do that?" Damion ask looking up at him curiously. He still didn't let go...he didn't want to let go at all...EVER! Smiling at Ebony he hugged tighter. "I don't understand how we would so called "ACT" wouldn't we have to make it real?" Right now if someone walked up they would think he was a three year old with the look he had on his face...pure confusion.

Ebony looked like he was both amused and feeling alienated at the same time. He'd seen people flirting and, unfortunately, people doing much more, both human and his own kind. But he really had no idea what to do to start, enjoy, and maintain a relationship. He held Damion, stroking his hair. "I...uh...I honestly don't really know what to do for a relationship...even a possibly fake one. I've never been in one."
