You will find the currency here is slightly different than Gaia's.

For example you don't get gold just for surfing, you only get it for making posts or playing games in the arcade, also you will notice that gold prices are lower here because the economy is pretty stable.

Yes, I've been finding that it is a bit more hard to attain gold then Gaia, but also that prices are much cheaper than Gaia is.
